As someone who used to be a really stupid kid I can assure you that the constantly pointing out obvious shit would have helped kid me a lot... like in pokemon I would just use like my starter and maybe one other pokemon and get really upset that I couldn't beat the elite 4 with just my starter and the legendary while the rest of my team was still like lv 10... I was a really stupid kid... Anyway this game stops holding your hand so often after the 1st streamer and the battle system gets way difficult too

Cynwit it never stops pointing out stuff that has been shown, already pointed out and explained multiple times.

Hell, even Steven Hawking (god bless him) could get at least half-way through the game, even without his fancy wheelchair...

Honestly one thing that is a bit frustrating later in the game is not having any idea what the attack power or your moves or enemy health except through means of trial and error. Just a few indicators would save so much of 'oh should I use shiny boots or are just regular fine?' Not that its a problem. With the excessive amount of coins throughout the game i can roll 10 deep of the highest tier boots and hammers without issue.

@@VirtualGnome Yeah, agreed. All Olivia says is, "You got a bit stronger!", but what does that amount to? +5 damager to every attack? Or is it only 1-shotting weak enemies in that area if you attack in the overworld?

I think it’s mostly cause current game journalist’s are so dumb and lazy that they expect anyone reviewing the game would’t know that fire hurts

It's a shame that this is what the guides have come to. I really liked Huey in Color Splash. He would sometimes give you hints on what Thing to use, but that's only because it's hard to know sometimes.

@@NoName...... Children could beat the old paper Mario games then they don't need this much tutorialization. They say that now the games were made for kids so the make the games easier but the old games were also made for kids and they were fine. (I mean I never played the old paper Mario games but just pretend I'm smart) Regardless of this They don't need to explain that fire is hot. Even Kirby doesn't do this and Kirby was made to be easy. One last this is that being made for kids doesn't make it immune to criticism, it just means that it should be criticized with children in mind and I don't think many children need to be told that fire is hot. Ok I'll be honest wasn't planning on writing a multi paragraph essay on a game I've never played but yeah.

The beginning is a bit bland but don't judge a book by its first few paragraphs, it gets so much better by the second world, I'm serious.

I don't see how the game being easy is a problem

Idunno it’s a problem when it’s being easy while babying you at the same time, acting like something that happened less than 5 minutes ago needs another tutorial about it. For example, after getting a life up heart container and showing you what it does, the game has Olivia tell you immediately after what it just did, after being shown what it does.

Idunno i mean its not inherently bad, but with how safe the game plays its story and level design, you wont remember anything about it in a year. There’s nothing really tangible about it.

if you watched the stream you would know he did give the game a chance, but the game kept slapping him with the stick up it's ass. he got so pissed when the game felt the need to point something out to him 3 times in quick succession (like the battle toad or the plus heart and even the chain of battles were olivia just wouldnt.shut.the.fuck.up. )

i dont want Scott to give the game a chance but i would like him to continue posting highlights because what he adds makes the game actually interesting. what im saying is the game is bad, but if he's willing to make it entertaining, ill watch

Eh I can still enjoy bits even if I like the game atleast.

@vasheeri yes I was there at the stream for about 75 minutes and I was kinda torn that he didn't like this game. And I do understand it is tutorial heavy as some points but some of them actually pointed out something useful, like the HP+ heart actually increasing your DMG at certain milestones. And the battle toad having two things was because if you came from a different place besides the musse. He'll tell you his shop is open. I enjoyed this game to bit and I understand it's not for everyone but I secretly wanted to see more streams and highlights from him as he's really funny. :)
