Fun fact: As a french kid, (so not really fluent in english), the "Paperboy fired" game over scared the heck out of me. With my little understanding of English, i didn't knew that "fired" means "being dismissed from a job". Instead, i interpreted it as "being executed by a firing squad". Why the poor boy had to die for failing to deliver newspaper?? In my defence, back in the 90's the only thing available to translate English was dictionaries, and mine was kinda limited. Didn't had past tenses, and "to fire" was only translated as as "shooting with a weapon".

MEANWHILE, IN THE TIMELINE OF PAPERBOY: "I pledge of allegiance, to the Paperboy, and the united newspapers of The Daily Sun. And to the trees, for which they stand. One purpose. Under ink. For paper and news for all."

The Arcade version remains the my favourite one. The Paperboy calls is quits game over theme is creepy and depressing but the Paperboy fired! one is funny and reminds a military theme and the voice speech "YOU'RE FIRED!" makes more funnier the game over screen. My favourite lines of paperboy are: -THAT'S RAD! (When he throws the newspaper on the mailbox) -Send me the bill! (When he brakes a glass of a subscriber) -You realized of course, THIS MEANS WAR! (When paperboy gets knocked down by someone or something)

5:07 Why the heck are there so many go-karts on a public road?! Or maybe it's a race and by luck, the forgot to block off the one road Paperboy was delivering on, or tell the Daily Sun about it. Either way, I always thought it was fun to get through there without getting hit. Funnily enough, in the GBA version that I own, there's both motorcycles AND go-karts on Friday in Hard Way. How odd.
