I can’t even tell where the ship is most of the time in this video. Just feels like a lot of trash running into your vision at once, it’s too much!

This level looks like one of those really old-school screen savers, only it's even uglier and it hates you personally.

I’m quite impressed by this game’s soundtrack. It’s actually pretty good. The escape sequence, on the other seems pretty obnoxious and unenjoyable to play, it seems pretty tough to tell what’s coming towards you sometimes.

And the worst part, using a continue during the escape means your score will be 0 due to the lack of ways to gain points!

They *really* should have just had checkpoints between each section on the escape, would’ve made it a lot more manageable..

I refuse to believe there was anyone in the development team that played the Falcon levels and thought that they were remotely ok.

As an advance wars fan I do love how that Andy and Eagle level is what we compare everything to now for difficulty "It's bad but at least it's not THAT bad"

Even at the time there were comics with Palpatine being resurrected, like in the Dark Empire trilogy. Honestly, it's sad how much they took from those comics for the final movie.

I can't even tell what's happening in the gameplay. This isn't your fault, Git, btw.

I will NEVER forget this level for the same reason. Rented the game when I was a kid, and managed to beat everything - EXCEPT THAT LAST DAMN LEVEL. I just ended up giving up in frustration and returning the cartridge. Thank you for accomplishing what I never could and showing me how it ended. Considering how nice the rest of the game looks, why they chose to end it with this poorly controlled, ugly designed mess, I'll never understand.

My dad and uncle were star wars fans, they showed me star wars through the movies as well as Shadows of the Empire and Rouge Squadron. I know Empire Palpatine was designed to be creepy, but that game over is just creepy.

Shame there's no undead Han Solo in this game!

The difficulty of the Super Star Wars games make Dark Souls look like Kirby's Adventure. After beating those games, I truly felt like I had become one with the Force, that's for sure.

I actually got headaches and couldn't focus for long after watching this video.

This game doesn't seem too bad as a whole. Nice graphics and sound design, and Luke's moveset looks neat. It seems like a lot of fun! I hate it when good games screw up the final act, it just hurts how satisfied you are about a game after beating it.

Is it just me, or is the Death Star exploding in this game more satisfying then it was in the movie?

Escape sequence that's brutal to complete and hurts your eyes but has good music so at least your ears are spared? Sounds like the Hoi Aga curse to me!

That ending sequence would be infinitely easier if the game let you shoot, because then you'd have some idea of where you were in relation to the walls. But nope, you can't.

Ah, return of the Jedi. Now this is a journey to my childhood. And I know first hand how much of a life sponge that last bit is. I don't think it's too bad, but that's just because I have way too much history with that game. It's a harsh difficulty spike, no questions about it, but it always makes me feel like a badass.

I've always wondered how the Star Wars Battle Pod game would look if you deep fried it.

Jesus Christ on a bicycle... I forgot about that level!!! I remember Return of the Jedi so well, but I totally forgot about that level!!! I never beat it while I had the game. I beat it years later when emulation was a thing. I save scummed the hell out of it.

Psychic powers? You do know that, although Disney didn't own the rights to Star Wars yet, they were already involved with the franchise. That's why Disneyland had a bunch of Star Wars stuff, and why they promoted The Phantom Menace.

There's a much better version of this level in Rogue Leader (Rogue Squadron 2) called Strike At the Core.

I never beat this game soley because of that final level...as both a kid and a teenager. I haven't attempted since.

Hearing Star Wars music and sound effects (like the blasters) in such a high quality on an old console feels surreal to me.

I like how there's a guy called Harrison Fong appearing in the credits. Wonder if they hired him specifically for his name alone.

I honestly like how the mode7 is used in that stage, it's very impressive for an SNES game, I really like it. I don't know when Star Fox released, maybe the SuperFX chip wasn't invented yet. However, I think the main problem of this level is that is hard to tell where you are, it would be more manageable if it was in third person or have a rectangle representing the falcon hitboxes. Also, some of the backgrounds don't appear quick enough to react when you boost. Lastly, it's at the end of the game, which makes doing a game-over-less run very frustrating. Very cool concept for a level, but executed very badly.

I kind of understand the perspective though? Then again, I was always fond of flying levels in games, and surprisingly good at them considering how I suck at anything else that is reaction based XD Though I do agree the escape section should have at least one checkpoint. It seems awfully long for such a complex thing.

I got Super Return of the Jedi for my 6th birthday, and I don't think I actually beat it until I was a teenager or something, literally because of that last level

That final stage was a nightmare, I don't know how I managed to keep my sanity intact back in 1999 when I played it for the 1st time, my bros. gave up at this finish line while I kept trying until I managed to win, despite this stage being kinda annoying, I find myself revisitng this game from time to time and doing 1 credit runs of the game on Jedi mode (and that says a lot of this game as being the easiest of the 3 SNES games, the other two I have a very hard time even on Easy).

When I saw the thumbnail, I KNEW it was this one... The first time I rented this game--THIS was the level that made me rage quit. Even on easiest difficulty, it's impossible without ridiculous patience. I may revisit it now...

I'mma be real, I'm in full agreement with you on this one. It took me years to beat the final level of Return of the Jedi; I'd beaten Empire Strikes Back multiple times over before I could beat that one because of the escape sequence. There's some bullcrap in Empire Strikes Back that irritates me, but I could still pass those on a good day.

After about a day of trying to beat the second phase of the Falcon's escape, I just decided to accept the new canon that Lando died in there. It's a sacrifice I was willing to make.

There is something to be said about the unique way the developers used Mode 7 here. I think it could almost be tolerable if it wasn't used for a time sensitive mission at the end of the bloody game.

I didn't have the patience to play all of Super Empire and Super Jedi legit, used cheats to get me through. However, none of the in game cheats help you with the vehicle stages at all. I had to git gud the rest of the way through, eventually I did.

'Who made this freaking Death Star tunnel? It's been Palpatine all along!' I've actually completed the entire trilogy and there are a few levels that don't implement their gimmicks well resulting in frustration. Ironically the Falcon section in Super Empire Strikes Back is comparatively easy. It's also funny how SESB reduces IG-88 to a recurring minor enemy instead of a boss like Boba Fett (and his ship!).

I wonder if Whois has played forgotten Genesis shooter game Wings of Wor (aka Gynoug)? There got be some material in that game worthy of Whois videos whether it the main character (Wor), the bosses (the Mid Boss and Endboss of the stages), stages of even the music.

Why do the cutscenes show the Falcon passing THROUGH the surface just next to the tunnel entrance?

Oh God, I already have problem with doing Star Fox 64 on 1st person/cockpit camera mode even tho it has good controls and depth perception, I can't even imagine surviving *this* . Salute to all players who did.

I don´t get the star wars world, kind of confusing for me

If you ever do an episode on Star Wars Episode I: Racer, Grabvine Gateway and Abyss must appear there. The former is a huge difficulty spike from all previous tracks so far and has that swamp section that can really catch you off-guard, so you must go very slowly in order not to crash; while in the latter, if you get knocked off from the upper section at the beginning of the track, you have to take a longer path that will make you lose the race very easily.

Another case where bad graphics make a level much worse

I played this a lot. The last level is absolute shit. But I think the most annoying thing is on the first game of the trilogy. When I played on hard, if I lost a life before beating the boss on the hangar (the giant robot), it meant I couldn't upgrade the blaster to plasma again, and I just couldn't beat it. So I would reset the game every time I lost a life. It was painful.

I don’t know if you done this already, but what about a Worst Levels episode on insultingly easy levels? Like, those levels that insult your intelligence or whatever?

I Beated this game Some months ago in emulator and the last 3 Levels are Hard in the Hardest Mode... I was stuck for a week in Jabbas' palace
