As the BBC struggles with the biggest Strictly crisis in the show’s 20-year history, Paralympian Will Bayley joins us after revealing he now lives with excruciating knee pain 'forever' after competing on the show back in 2019. The table tennis player sustained the injury during rehearsals for the show when he jumped from a table. The Paralympian speaks out about how he perceives things were handled wrongfully.

What a nice chap, he has clearly been a victim of the media twisting his words and story. Great that he was able to speak about it like this and it completely cleared it up and showed that all he was asking for was some care after his injury and how to prevent it happening to anyone else in future! Good luck for the Paralympics I will certainly be cheering you on!

injury will always happen when it is physical though he did not need to do the lift that he did even though they said it would be ok he did it when he should not have like dancing on ice some do the lifts some do not he chose to do it injury happens even in the Paralympics

@@dianecameron137Janette wouldn't want Will to do the jump because she understood about the arthogryposis that Will has

I'm so glad to have found a clip of Will actually speaking of his experience rather than a fake headline. I think he's right that the dancers need more support to cater to different needs and to contestants to deal with the physical, mental and emotional weight of the show and throughout the whole film process. I adore Strictly and I hope it comes out of this situation a better and healthier show and continues to be well loved

Sometimes people just need a metaphorical cuddle! My daughter is going through dreadful pain at the moment. She emailed her line manager to update her on progress and didn’t even get a reply. Some people in positions of power don’t seem to have any people skills. Thanks Will for clarifying your position, there’s a lot of noise about…and bon chance a Paris! 🏅

Heaven forbid someone sounds "woke". It's disappointing that anyone would be hesitant to speak out about a workplace injury because a certain section of society mocks and shames anyone they perceive as being progressive

He’s not really laying blame. He’s just saying that maybe strictly should have more expert input when choreographing dances who can identify what will and won’t work.

He seems lovely and these concerns are legitimate. All of the complaints made should be investigated. Sick of the strictly fanatics rushing to defend the dancers and dismissing potential abuse.

his choice to entre he could have left if it got tough for him he is a table tennis player hardly the same as a dancer even the dancers pick up injury but they get on with it he like the rest got paid to be there he stepped into the dancers world he said he wanted to win well how did he expect to do that without pushing himself or the training he was given
