Yes! "First, then" is so helpful! My son is just barely being able to understand first, then.

Glad it's working well for him.

As a former 7th grade teacher, I had some inclusion students. It's always good to offer resources for the team of both parents and teachers. #VRAFamily

Visual schedules and routes are great. My son is autistic, but I wonder sometimes if he could be given a secondary diagnosis of auditory processing disorder.

Maybe. You could always get him tested.

As a special needs mom who has been a Spanish interpreter for elementary IEP meetings, I feel a strong sense of distrust for the system. I don't trust the public schools with my special needs child. Would they handle him well? Maybe. Time will tell if I get in the financial position that he'll have to go to public school, but for now homeschooling is going very well for my 4 year old autistic son.

Glad homeschooling is going well. With special ed the laws can vary by state and district. Even how school to school handles things is so different. My friend had a vastly different experiece with her son just going from elementary to the middle school down the street. There are some great schools out there that handle special ed well and there are some that do not.
