Dre Day no what I said is exactly the problem. I collect jerseys and Ik how to wash them all. Also drying them with heat, will cause damage after a couple of washes. The best thing I can recommend is to wash them with cold water and then hang them up to air dry.
Adidas are stitched, even though it’s not high quality it’s still stitched. Nike’s are heat pressed, if you machine dry them they will peel after a while. They peel anyway but machine dying them makes it worse
she put them in the washing machine when on the package it says hand wash and if the stickers on the jersey are ripping put it back in place by putting a piece of cloth on top of the sticker and iron it
Is ironing back a letter/number safe? I have a Kobe Bryant Swingman Jersey from NIKE and a corner of the “Lakers” logo is peeled a bit. Could I use anything else that’s not a cloth to iron on top?
i just fucking hand washed my swingman and the last name letters peeled off slightly after one wash. wore it like 10 times before washing and was really fucking gentle in the laundry sink.
Well you can definitely wash them in the washing machine but you just have to turn them inside out, put it on a delicate wash cycle, and then put it on the coldest wash setting. Then you pretty much air dry it on a hanger after that and your pretty much good to go.
This is 100% a quality flaw by Nike. To save a buck, they stopped stitching down graphics on Swingman jerseys a few years ago. I'm glad this is getting some attention. Do better Nike.
xTOXICx swingman is just as bad I bought a custom Nike swingman jersey 2 weeks ago and i wore it for the first time today took it off and the numbers started peeling off if it wasn’t for a friend of mine who knows how to fix it I would’ve been out $150 all they did was use a regular iron and press down on the numbers to make sure it sticks
The numbers and lettering started to peel off after a couple of washes, but not that bad. That’s why you wash at a lower temperature and don’t put it in the dryer
I have worn my cavaliers jerseys twice and handwashed it both times and they letters are already coming off! shoddy quality and now refuse to buy nike ever again
Same thing now with the Nike NFL jerseys. I have a white Mac Jones jersey and I got a stain on it. Took it to dry cleaners and I noticed the Patriots logo just below the neckline was starting to peel. Cleaners said they couldn't clean the jersey and they were sorry. I have old Drew Bledsoe replica jerseys made by Starter that are silk screened and those haven't peeled (I would either hand wash and hand dry or get dry cleaned. Reebok also had silk screened jerseys and those have never peeled. Reebok's made sewn replica jerseys as well. Nike needs to take a look at those jerseys and do the same thing...unless this is a ply to get people to but=y more jerseys. Jerseys aren't cheap. This is a nasty trick Nike is doing.
I use cricut alot and from my cricut experience ive learned that if you throw things with heat pressed vinyl on it the heat from the dryer will actually soften the glue and thus cause the letters to fall off…. I usually put my dirt bike jerseys and sports jerseys in the closet to air dry and they last me years

It’s just cause they bought the swing man version (which means that the letters and logos are glued on so when you dry it the glue fucks up and falls off ) if you get the authentic version everything is stitched in (it is more expensive) so when you wash and dry it it shouldn’t fuck up
What I found out is that you’re supposed to wash and rinse jerseys by hand. I learned that the hard way as a kid when my Tim Duncan Champion (screen print) jersey lettering started coming apart within a year of throwing it in the washer and dryer
All the parents got to do is search up a RU-vid video on how to wash the jerseys and how to fix the letters falling off and last I saw you don't wear jerseys like most people hang them on a wall
This makes no sense. I have a couple of soccer jerseys from Nike and always wash them and dry them like normal clothes without any damage at all. It must be a quality control issue when they printed them. Workers probably rushed maybe
Same happed to me! I workout in mine always washing in cold water but I noticed after 5months some letters busy falling off. I paid 150$. IL sure neva buy any again.
never NEVER EVER wash jerseys regularly like you do for every day clothes don't matter how carefull you are they always peel (I recommend not playing in the swingman jerseys and buying replicas) especially for kids that way you don't need to wash it. The adidas one looks like the replica which is cheap and can be washed. I never wash jerseys and always recommend you never do. Lady legit has no clue on the different types of jerseys 😂 1:07 1:07

I got a Adidas Minnesota Timberwolves Malik Sealy Jersey and the number and letters started to fade away and i stopped wearing it. I had that Jersey 4 years ago.
Nike jerseys are horrible I bought a blue Steph curry warriors jersey and I didn’t even wash it and the 3 in 30 on the back was peeling off and the golden state letters were peeling off also just get a adidas jersey instead of Nike
These jerseys are shit, are they even stitched? Seriously Nike must've give a low ass deal for the NBA to take that contract. I guess Adidas was charging too much for GOOD QUALITY products. I wish I could say you get what you pay for but these jerseys are also sold at a premium price lol such garbage. Commercialism at its finest.
