I will never understand why the hell did this girl not get into Harvard. Like not only did she get perfect grades, was in every extracurricular club you can think of, SHE WAS LITERALLY A LEGACY!!!!
@@imnotfunny2 interviews are extremely important in the admission process. To blow the interview as much as Paris did, you would have to absolutely ace the exams. Not only that, but Paris can’t work in a team and doesn’t work very well with other people- that has been demonstrated all throughout the show and it would’ve come across during admissions. What colleges look for is people who can improve and become what the school wants them to become- not necessarily only the smartest people. Her extracurriculars would have helped with the team-working issue but to be honest, most people applying would also have lots of extracurriculars because everyone knows that you need them to be set apart at least a little.
@B Babbich She is very devoted to school which is a good thing! It’s good to have a pusher like Paris to help you study more. This has nothing to do with slavery what the hell
@B Babbich Are you really comparing dictators that were responsible for the deaths of many people to the drive of an over achieving high school student? 😂 not the same at all but nice try, bringing up dictators to try and vilify a character like Paris lol she’s intense but she’s no murderer. Save those comparisons for actual criminals that kill people.
@B Babbich bby, this is a teen drama from the early 2000s. She's a teenage girl who just wants to do well in life, not a good enough reason to call her hitler
Not getting into Harvard inspired Paris to do better and as a result, after graduating from Yale, she was accepted into every grad school she applied to INCLUDING Harvard. Rory on the other hand didn't land anywhere good after being rejected from that one Newyork times internship that she foolishly bet her entire future on.
Yeah but that was 100% bad writing. Had nothing to do with Rory as a character. Bad at being a girlfriend he’s. Bad at succeeding academically or any formal setting. Not likely.
I swear to God, Paris deserved to be a lawyer. I mean the opponent would surrender himself/herself rather than arguing with her. She could blow anyone in this world off you know 😭.
As a fellow Indian let me tell you half of pur school probably don't know the books written by Shakespeare I'm just a freshmen but the problem is I don't have extracurricular activities at school Nor are there any volunteering campaigns I could join Growing up with a schizophrenic mom and a short tempered dad who both are overly protective of me, I have given up on the silly dream of an ivy league Guess I have to become one of the sheep in the herd who takes science stream and gets into a rat race of competitive exams with the pressure of being good at each subject
@B Babbich this is very ‘holier than thou.’ don’t act like you’ve never had a selfish thought, especially if you’re an academic. i don’t need a lecture. what’s important isn’t being perfect, it’s being empathetic and letting the good person you really are be the one to guide you.
@B Babbich yeah, exactly… i never said i was paris. i said a part of me relates to her. not all of me by a long shot. i don’t know why you felt the need to lecture me.
@@kayla-kr5dx a lot late but what's up with your defensiveness? The above person never said anything about not having a selfish thought, but instead gave you wonderful advice about being kind and caring. You even agreed with them in your last comment, "it’s being empathetic and letting the good person you really are be the one to guide you." How did you immediately jump to the conclusion that @B Babbich was lecturing you? If it came off as anything, it was lukewarm.....
I *L O V E* Paris. She always inspired me. Season 1 paris was a bit psychotic and very toxic, but the way she grew and developed is amazing. Despite coming from a damaged family, and being damaged herself, she was always so driven to do good in the world. She really inspires me.
I wasn't a huge fan of her character yet i just love to see her so devoted towards her goals and her projects, in that matter she was truly an inspiration
8:30 is the most hilariously accurate projection of what actually happened to Rory. (Not doing well in later life, failed career, terrible relationship, getting arrested etc.)
Someone needs to explain how Paris did all that. She spearheaded so many projects with her own ideas, did extracurricular work, volunteered and all of her homework. That can't be real or if it is, Someone needs to tell me how. Forget studying like Rory, I wanna know how Paris did everything.
Because it's practically tradition in her family to live up to that standard, so she probably learned it from relatives and gradually it just became natural to her at a young age since her family is goal orientated
A lot of these extracurriculars require money and someone always able to drive you everywhere. I would've had ever half of the extracurriculars Paris had if I had the money and a car lol.
People like Paris make the best friends honestly😅 I have a ‘type a’ friend and I couldn’t stand her initially but she’s such a softie and is honestly the most loyal truthful person I’ve ever met. ❤
I just love her. Unlike the other driven characters in the show she was emotionally open and affectionate and had no delusions about herself. Emily could have learned from her.
I think being hardworking is no doubt an admirable trait, however it really isn’t necessary to be rude to other members of a team or even friends. Can’t you be socially intelligent and academically intelligent at the same time? There really is no need to act snobby and better than everyone else- in the real world, books can only carry you so far. It is the social connections you make that will help you climb your way to success, such as forming partnerships. In fact, a smart team leader would value long term goals over short term and they can achieve this by prioritising the team’s morale over short wins so that it can improve loyalty and trust which overall contributes to an elevated efficiency and productivity.
You can. But it's tremendously hard being both socially and academically intelligent at the same time. Th driving force is totally opposite in nature. That is why it's hard to find.
She really is the opposite of Rory. Rory wanted a bright future with hard work, but she didn’t get one cause she was selfish and was raised with people around her who would tell she was perfect and all stuff, which is why she never heard bad criticism . Paris wanted the same thing as Rory and she got it. Sure she was selfish too but not in the same way as Rory. Paris would take the leadership in a group project and do all the hard work by her own choice while Rory would pay less attention to it even as a leader. Bcs of Paris’ actions the whole group would get a good grade, the results of her actions were positive. Rorys actions weren’t always great, instead of getting and accepting the bad criticism she would blame it on something else and everyone in her life would still say she’s perfect.
I love Rory but everyone knows that you have to have lots of extracurriculars to get into college, not just good grades and test scores. She of all people should know that if she wants to go to Harvard. I love her though, don’t get me wrong!
@B Babbich what you're saying has literally nothing to do with they're saying, which is that there are millions of kids who make perfect grades all throughout highschool, so having perfect grades is not enough & extracurricular activities are important.
Harvard has said that they want people with personality and stuff paris studied all the time had tons of extra things she did but she didnt do them bc she Iked them she did them to get into the school thats why she didnt get there
@@rabiagilmore Even thru that, her interview was a total bust, she acted crazy and her nerves just got the best of her...but Paris will always be my fav character all thru that
The foreshadowing when Paris said that valedictorians don't do well later in life totally slipped my mind when I watched it, but seeing it now after knowing that Rory's life goes downhill gave me goosebumps. They really told us what was gonna happen from the start of the show.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand how Rory got into Harvard and not Paris. Paris put in a lot more volunteer ours, and never once got a bad grade. Rory on the other hand got numerous c’s and a d. Ivy leagues look at your grades throughout high school.
@@MaricaAmbrosius rory did not ace her yale interview and she was not in pajama pants; the main reason why rory got into yale was because of her grandfather lets be honest
@@Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii800 It's not, Paris is a hardworking queen, she was robbed from having the right to go to Harvard! She worked so hard, got the perfect grades, had so much expierence in every level and did not get accepted into Harvard, on the other hand Rory, that joined Chilton through the half of the year, didn't always get the perfect grades and had little to no expierence did get into Harvard, they accpeted her into Harvard, but again she was so selfish too not accept it and go to Yale🙄 Rory litteraly had the chance to go to the school that she wanted to go to her whole life and did not do it, and Paris that would killl to go to Harvard did not get in! So, in conclusion, Paris is an incredibly hardworking ambitous person, so no, it's not sad, they should be proud of it! :)
@@astghikhovhannisyan628 no i didnt mean it that way that u should be more like rory. What i mean is that if shes like paris it sad because she didnt left any time for living she spent all her time for extra credit things And never had the time to live life which leaded her to burnout
@@Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii800 Aawhhh okayyy I understand what you mean now! Sorry for the misunderstanding from my side ahaha, thankyou for explaining! Really appreciate if :) yess, you are right ! Paris is hardworking, but she can overwork too, and put alot of pressure on herself.
@B Babbich me myself wouldn't describe it as "jealousy" she just wanted to have academic validation and outstanding grades, she wasn't "jealous" of anyone, she knew her worth and just wanted to have academic validstion, a good reputation and outstanding grades, that has nothing to do with jealousy.
Y’all stop with whining that she didn’t get in Harvard. Some people get in some people don’t. She blew the interview, she may be smart and hard worker but she didn’t had personal qualities that set her apart from others, she had anger issues, she thought everyone would knee under her if she yelled at them and she was really toxic. Even if you’re smart and hardworking if you’re intense like that it doesn’t get you everywhere. She just didn’t get in. Some of y’all are acting like she didn’t got accepted at other really good schools
Paris was the one who pushed Rory to do better at school. She always pushed Rory to achieve perfection in their debates, extracurriculars, school projects, etc.
The beginning music sort of sounds like printing so whenever I hear it I imagine Paris printing out a fresh new edition of The Franklin and it is so satisfying!!!
I was a little bummed the way Rory's arc went, with 2016 conclusions. Then I watched this video and it reminded me that a nerd and hardworking like Paris needs the sweet and gentle disposition of Rory, and bam you got the perfect thing. I mean, I realed I am more like Paris even though I would have liked to be like Rory, but I don’t want to be rude like Paris. So Paris' tenacity (workin harder after failures) and Rory's calmnes (more or less) and the being comfortable within your own skin= something doable for me. 😅
I don't want to be her. Her she must have alot of anxiety And her voice is LOUD. She's the typa girl you wanna do assignment projects with but never have to deal with outside of school
I would love to go to Chilton. I love my school so much, but Chilton…wow. I know it can be overbearing with the homework but I’m always up for a challenge in school. I’d love to go to Chilton for at least a week. (This is random, but I am drinking out of my Chilton mug while I am typing haha.)
