Poor Paris 😕. She basically is lonely. She doesn't have anyone for her emotional support. That's why she gets anxious when she is stressed out or feeling low. She has no issues about her success in life but emotionally all she needs a supportive mother figure who can also be a girl bestie and a guy who is like a supportive father figure.

I thought she was so unrealistic watching her as a teen but as an adult, Paris often says things millennials are all thinking. Some of her rants are still SO relevant even all these years later! I think she and Doyle will probably stay together ultimately, they're so alike. I also think Rory would never have gotten as far as she did without Paris - from telling her about needing to volunteer to get into an Ivy league school, all the way to being roomies at Yale. She turns out to be her most consistent friend besides Lane who's still limited by never having left Star's Hollow.

It just occurred to me that Paris is the only person I can think of in Rory’s life that doesn’t think she is “perfect” or “special”. Paris is honest with Rory when she is an ass and will actually tell her.

I am autistic and I suspect Paris is as well (I also suspect it with Rory Gilmore and several other Gilmore Girls characters). I actually swear of all TV shows with autistic characters, Gilmore Girls has the most of them, although Lorelai herself is probably ADHD.

I find it fascinating you think Rory might be autistic. I definitely see ADHD in Rory, Lorelai, Sookie, Lane, Paris, April, and Christopher, and possibly others. I have ADHD and I 100% think the fast-talking trademark of the show is ADHD hyperactivity. But Paris and April are also autistic, and other characters I see autism potential in are Kirk, Madeline, and one of my friends sees it in Luke and I'm starting to see that possibility.

Beautiful analysis! Paris has and always will be my favorite character on GG, unlike most of the characters her traits are realistic. Despite her struggles she actually has beautiful character growth over the show and becomes a lovely character that you can’t help but fall in love with🥹❤️
