Geofatboy performs a shave with the Parker 89R Three Piece Safety Razor. Requests have been made for this razor. Razor construction is genuine brass with polished chrome plating. A gleaming chrome handle with faceted finish that reflects light in different directions. The razor is loaded up with a Parker double edge razor blade. Agreed on the red can, pretty dry. Sensitive skin (orange) has vitamin E infusion and is way better for a ten minuter and out the door shave. Not every day. All other canned ones good for filling with balloons and letting em rip lol.

Wow! Took one on the chin for us Geo, could tell right way your displeasure in using the canned foam. Barbasol has a classic scent but like all canned foam, the propellant and chems in the can just ruin the experience..IMO. The razor looks great, no aggression scale today but figure it's the same as all Parker razors. Hahaha, the alum told the tale. Great demo and shave with a fine finish, thanks. Enjoy!

Secret of foam is to add water. Wet your hand and apply water massaging it in little by little. It’s still not a soap or cream, obviously, but it’s much better than just putting it in and shaving as it is. I think of it as regular lather, you’ve got to add moisture and work it in. Great video! Yeah that can work as well, I add some proraso pre shave when I use Barbasol and it actually works out pretty well.

Hi Geo, great shaving video. Nice to change up your shaves. using Barbasol foam. I love the Brut splash aftershave. I like the old school aftershaves. I have the Brut aftershave splash and the deodorant. Nice Masculine scent. Like the ClubMan Pinaud Musk cologne. (Proper old school barber shop scent). Always a joy Geo, take care.

In a pinch i spray some into my shaving bowel. I add a little bit of hot water then stir it with a wet brush. Cuts down the foam little bit and adds moisture. I apply with the brush.

When I use Proraso Foam, I only apply it with one hand ( my left hand ). That means, that I don’t waste it by trying to wash off both hands so as to hold the razor with my right hand.

The only time I use canned goo is when traveling, for ease of use. However, I can only ever find the Barbasol Sensitive Skin in travel size. If I have to use canned stuff, I'd rather it be the Barbados Original, as it at least smells really good. Also, I (still) love Brut Classic aftershave. That was my long-time a/s until I started wet shaving.

I must say I was surprised to see you using Barbasol! I use it on those occasions when I need a quick shave with less cleanup. It works.But, like you, I prefer using a brush with real shaving soap or cream. Barbasol from the can is not as moist and slick. Nevertheless, Barbasol has its place for wet shaving. Barbasol and Brut does bring back the memories! Nice shave, Geo!

We keep a small can of Barbasol. We spread it on the bathroom mirror, let it set for 5 minutes then wipe it off. Keeps the mirror from fogging up.

Yeah that's what I do, a proraso pre shave at the start of the shave is usually good enough. That combined with Barbasol gives a good shave imo

I have a small bottle of barbasol in my travel kit you have to add water while only use it in an emergency otherwise I like my soap creams in tubs and a brush

I wet my face and add a proraso pre shave and get a pretty good shave out of Barbasol. I prefer soaps, but Barbasol gives a decent shave and it's a classic American company. They also have some classic stuff in a tube that works pretty well imo and smells good.

@@philippians4410 Ah no, it's still brushless and is not as good as a regular artisan soap. It's more like a cremo kind of thing, but it works when I don't want to make a mess with a face lathering. More blade feel imo (compared to a soap) but I haven't had any irritation after a shave with it and works pretty good for that. Just use a faucet to clean off the blade. Also I think it's kinda cool to use a product that's based off of the hundred year old original brushless shaving cream formula. Has a pretty decent/unique scent. (Not the exact formula from a hundred years ago.) Maggards even carries the stuff, I stumbled across it on the site and threw a tube of it in my last order.

I hate Barbasol. I'd rather use Mug shaving soap. My choice is Arko shaving soap with my Merkur 34C. You should do a Dollar Tree product only shave. That would be interesting

Ever try Barbasol with a proraso pre shave (or whatever you prefer) It compensates for the lack of slickness and gives a devent shave imo. They also got a classic tube formula that is pretty good.

@@greg6941 Yeah didn't they stop production of that Williams soap? I've never tried it but I heard that's a classic. What's the scent on that like?/How does it perform? Yeah a brush is still better but if I dont want to make a mess with face lathering then I'll throw in the Barbasol with the pre shave. So it's good for travel as well.
