Parsi food is one of the hardest to find foods these days because the Parsi people are slowly shrinking in numbers. So Manisha and I went to explore Indian-Iranian fusion food in Delhi. You haven't seen Indian food like this before! We'll show you what to order and tell you where you can find the best Parsi food in India.
We ate Patra ne Machhi, Chicken Dhansak, Sali Boti, Berry Palau, Dhansak with Kebab, Falooda, Lagan nu Custard. One other great dish I wanted to show you was Bombay Duck, but it's not available in Delhi. It's a soft fried fish which you eat along with its bones.
The best Parsi food in India is available at Britannia & Co. in Mumbai, it's well worth the trip to Colaba! In Delhi, try SodaBottleOpenerWala - I like the Gurugram branch best.

Fredie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Stone Town Zanzibar in Tanzania, he was not born in India nor was he Indian, his parents were and when Fredie was 8 he went to India to go to an english style boarding school but returned to Tanzania after secondary school and when 17 moved to the UK. Either way, had he not moved to the UK there would not have been a Fredie Mercury.

Most urban Iranians I have run across are only nominally Islamic , but they have kept older philosophies close to heart. And you guys must try authentic Persian Food from Mazandaran/Gilan - its the best food Iran has to offer , and if you don't find that you should try Azeri or Georgian food which despite their uniqueness , still have that Persian touch. The red berries are Barberry/Zereshk and also found in Afghan/ Baloch cuisine.

persian foood < 3 (well almost) this was so interesting for me, as i graduated as a student of iranistics and have lots of persian friends. among them, some zoroastrians (parsi). also i don't know if the word is used in hindi, but 'anjuman' means 'assembly, gathering, crowd'. maybe you already know, since manisha has a persian name (who is really looking pretty in this video).. anyway, fitting as it is for this video, i wish you humat-hukht-khwarsht (good thoughts, good words and good deeds). take care. : )
@bamdadkhan
@bamdadkhan 4 года назад
@A. A. calm down mate, i'm *definitely* not mixing indians with persians. i did not know about a hindu god by that name, and i'm sorry if i offended you. my assumption was based on the (arguably false) analogy with the similarly sounding 'manēža منيژه ' from the shahnāma.
@shreyanegi7520
@shreyanegi7520 4 года назад
@@bamdadkhan That might just be true! A lot of Sanskrit words including names of Gods are similar to those found in Zoroastrian scriptures. From wikipedia - "The name Sām is equivalent to the Avestan word 𐬯𐬁𐬨𐬀‎ 'Sāma', which means black or dark colored and Sanskrit श्याम 'Shyaama' which means the same."

My best friend is parsi. It’s true that they fled persecution from islamic invasion in persia to save their religion but it was more than 500 years ago. But, now because of late-age marriages, low birthrate and inter-religion marriages in parsi community, their population is keep decreasing. Parsi are richest community in India (6 parsi families in top 20 richest Indians), but, decreases in their population is alarming as not keeping up with others.

@Rehan Not really. Parsi are like ethnically Persian but their nationality is indian. Parsi community didnt intermix much, they had to marry other zoroastrians. Just like how jewish people that left are still ethnically Israeli, parsi are ethnically persian.
@eliza1826
@eliza1826 4 года назад
@Rehan "The only association parsi have with persia is through religion". You do understand that Parsi migrated to india 1,200 ago out of Persia? Not only are they associated with Persian by zoroastrian religion but also because they are literally descendants of persians. SO, Get this stuck in your ignorant nationalistic thick head, PARSIS are ethnically PERSIAN, zoroastrians are PERSIAN, they do NOT intermix with indians hindu or any other religion or ethnicity. Hence, why parsi and freddie mercury looks so Persian rather than your typical Indian. In fact, freddie looks so Persian, he looks like my cousin. Zoroastrians have not intermix with indian populations for the past century, they only marry other zoroastrians, just like the jewish people who moved to eastern Europe, they only married other jewish people. Ashkneazi they are ETHNICALLY middle easterner, because most ashkenazi have levantine and middle easterner dna because that's what they are descendants of, the same ancestory as ancient Israelis..
@eliza1826
@eliza1826 4 года назад
@Rehan PARSIS are ethnically Persian, just check your average parsi DNA, that's why parsi look similar to persians. Their nationality is indian. Indian is not a race nor ethnicity, it is an nationality. Cut out that nationalistic third world act, its embarrassing thing you indians do..
