In the book the part where Armand questions Percy is a big moment, all the members of the league are shocked and offended that anyone would question their leader. Then the same thing happens, Armand goes and makes a mess of things that Percy has to fix.
His disguises are good. I never suspected, until he came outside with the chair. I wished that they had used genuine accents, so that it would be easier to know where they were.
I like how all of the members of the League got married, and to French women, in the Scarlet Pimpernel books, Percy to Marguerite, Andrew to Suzanne and Tony to Yvonne.
As Armand is running across the rooftop, all I can think of is Death and All His Friends, by Coldplay. That song, hell, that whole CD, paints a story of the French Revolution as good as any I've ever seen.
I never understood why Percy doesn't stop Armand from leaving and risking the plan. Percy made clear that rescuing the Dauphine was his #1 priority, so important that he was even willing to let his marriage fall apart rather than even take the chance of risking the Dauphine's life. Why would he let Armand risk it? Still an amazing movie though. Thanks so much for posting.
