LOL... THAT looks exactly like one of my projects... ROFL.... good effort and not edited(to be sure) real reality video... I appreciate your sincerity for sure !!! and the dizzying belly laugh was awesome too... !!! LOL !!!
Is the barb that comes on the end of the manifold elbow also 1/4"? I'm thinking of just doing a hose to hose connect. 3/4 inch thread to 1/4 barb on gas line to avoid removing it.
Same carb. Same generator. Used barbecue regulator. Gen would run start and run ok for less than a minute then start surging, then quit. It turned out regulator was the problem. Switched to higher flow regulator. Problem solved!
On the smaller generators the stud spacing is 42mm. Look for a carburetor relates to the 160F or 170F Chinese engines. On the larger generators the stud spacing is 52mm. Look for a carburator for a 180F or 190F Chinese engine.
Thanks for the time.Ive got same generator so this was pretty helpful. Not sure I'll go with the same kit tho.Looks like a nice kit but you get what u pay for and I'd be worried it wouldn't last long term or some other issue pop up when I really don't want it to. How has it performed since u installed it? Have u had to use it since?
Hey, looking to do this conversion for my similar 4,000 champion. is there any other products that are needed besides the Carburetor? thanks for putting the time into this!
In addition to the carburetor and the fitting I used to in the video, you will need a NG hose and quick release fitting like this amzn.to/3on8tQ5. The gas pipe and valves are standard Home Depot or lowes items. Hope this helps
Just bought a compact silent type generator 3.2kw , i like the conversion but im concerned about the space i have to work with to fit this kit, any thoughts?
I have the exact same generator and the carb is clogged up from the gas I had in it, even with stabilizer. I want to convert to natural gas as well. Do I need to clean the carb out as well or replace it with a new one when I put the natural gas kit on, or is the existing carb no longer used to regulate anything?
The Tri fuel kits usually come with a new carb (mine did) so you won’t need your existing. I would still keep your old one and spray with carb cleaner to clean it once you have it off. Clean the bowl and the jets by just spraying the cleaner (very easy). Backups are always good. Plus you may want to switch back if you sell it.
You can covert any generator to propane or NG, you just have to find the proper conversion. There are companies that make them for almost all engines but some are pricey.
i did mine yesterday and I regret it !!!!! i had to take the engine out because the Carburetor could not get out because the frame was in the way . The gasket cracked and i dont habe a new one .and and and 2h later ....it dont run on LPG at all and runs shit on petrol, now
I know right. My father in law was an industrial pipe fitter and would freak out if I used yellow tape when showing how to do gas plumbing. Guess it’s just beat into me over the years.
