Thanks to Arlyn for the invitation to ride the 1966 Steel Soo Line Caboose! It was amazing! I still have the dream of purchasing my own caboose to display my Railroad treasures! THis video also made me realize that my camera is too heavy to carry around all day as you will see by the shakiness. Sorry about that but a Go Pro just is not good enough for range and depth so I used my Sony. I got way more footage than I shared in the two videos. I was determined to stand on the platform on the way back and it was great until we picked up speed -that was easily remedied by sitting on my sweatshirt for padding on the platform! Needless to say it was a great day!

Definitely the place to be watching the scenery getting the fresh air and watching the miles disappear Did you happen to see a new Loop track built up at Two Harbors? Supposedly CN installed one there last year but I'm not sure what it was for @23:00 notice the center beam Flats which I believe are for the LP plant Intown that is supposed to produce Smart Siding just like Sagola. That little mini yard you went by looks like coal hoppers unless they bring up the Limestone from the docks in them. Also those pressurized cylindrical hoppers probably have the bentonite clay that they bake on the pellets. I was surprised to see that BNSF SD as those are units for locals and hump Duty it's surprisingl they'd give one up. Probably some of the longest tenured units they joined the BN roster with 15 years already under their belt then many hung on for another 30 years with no midlife rebuild. But as the mark on their frame said for the home base point and the metal model plate proudly said SD9. They were truly Superior SD9s.

Hey Nancy, I rode a train once. I was 5 or 6 & l was in Kindergarten. My tiny elementary school principal loved kids so much she also taught Kindergarten and she arranged for the Kindergarten class to ride the 13 miles from Rochester to Oxford on a passenger train. The only thing l remember specifically was handing my ticket to the Conductor. We took the school bus back. 1957. Thanks Nancy. ben/ michigan, just a troll living under the bridge eh.

Hi Ben! Since some of the rails from the Iron Range &Huron Bay Railroad went to Oxford to Romeo wonder if you might have ridden over them? Would they be viable then? Why not!!

I like the old So o railroad railroad caboose. I used to see them in Mar. Quette. Along lake superior as you come in in from the South into Marquette. That was in the sixties
