Our philosophy is based on the idea that coercion is unnecessary. We believe that living in accordance with our own beliefs does not mean forcing those who disagree with us to abandon theirs. In other words, divergent opinions can coexist.
If we wanted to be remembered for any one idea, it would be this one.
For example, we believe that a person who voted for Brexit can live by the rules of Brexit on the same street as someone who lives by the rules of Bremain. Or that someone who voted to protect local labor from immigration can live alongside someone who opted for an open market.
Most issues do not require a single absolute choice, a single governor or president. People who share common values can combine into “nations” that are not defined by physical borders. And they can build constructive relations with other “nations” governed by different laws.
We invite you to think of a rule that does not exist in the state within whose physical borders you live, but that would be law in your transborder state. Please share your example in the comments.
