Part 30 'Removing front wing to inspect sill, A-pillar and inner wing panel'

Took a bit of a break from working on the Rover but am now back on it.
In Part 30 I remove the front wing panel so I can inspect the front of the sill where it joins the bottom of the A-pillar and the inner wing/wheel-well structure - which is hard to see when the wing is in place.
There was a moment where I thought there wouldn't be enough room to allow the long door to open enough to get to the top and bottom wing bolts - which are hidden behind the door. Since the car is positioned right up against the opposite wall, I can't open the doors fully. Something to think about if restoring a three door Coupe or hatchback in a small garage.

Springs do look a bit crusty but as you said they are origional they have done remarkably well.

I may end up fitting some lowered springs as the ride height on the GTi was always too high. Far too much gap between top of the tyre and the arch.

I hope the passenger side is in as good a condition as the drivers side when you investigate that side.

That's what I'm hoping too 😆
