Well I just wanna say first off.. Jeannie , Adrienne ' & Loni !!! You ladies are literally the epitome of professionalism & TRUE friendship ! You held it down for Tam harder than I ever seen before ! I appreciate you ladies bringing light to this situation ! This was really important and much needed conversation ! And hopefully it opens the door to conversations to make a nationwide reforms and stricter policies on gun control in this country ! It needs to happen and quickly ! We can't keep having this happen ! 💕
Myronn Coleman gun control would not have prevented this. the weapon was legally acquired. Not saying it won't help. It will. But essentially the society as a whole has to change. the attitude to guns and death has to change. The adulation of veterans has to change. the abandonment of veterans with mental issues has to end. The "look the other way" culture has to end. The violence in video games and movies/tv shows has to end. The ease with which people can access information about guns and bombs has to end. The isolation of young people has to end.. The unhealthy family dynamics has to end. Social services needs to do a better job of counselling isolated youth and veterans. it has to be a holistic approach otherwise it won't work. there is a canker within American society as a whole
Anderson Cooper started doing this back in 2012 shortly after the Aurora movie theater shooting. Around the time of the release of _The Dark Knight Rises_ (which promotion had to be postponed in the wake of the shooting.) he traveled to Colorado, one of the victims' loved ones remarked to him as Anderson asked what can they (the media) do and they responded by saying honor those who were slain and not to say the shooter's name because it brings on publicity and it overshadows the ones that were killed.
Yeah me too. Loni blatantly said the man we won't name. And I was like yes loni never name the shooter coz then all the atte tion shift to him. People try to i find out about him and then sympathize with him. And victims become secondary part of the whole thing.
Spoke to a Criminal psychologist who says it does more damage to mention their names. These lunatics are sometimes willing to die to become " famous", which they know will happen if they commit a crime like this. We psychologically do a lot of bad when we focus on the killer and not the victims. Many of these killers are rejected "nobodies", and feel like if they commit a crime like this they will die "famous" and everyone will know who they are and what their "message" was. Let's not give them the satisfaction. (Btw, I'm not saying that was the motivation of THIS shooter, but it is a common motive)
I don't know if that's accurate. I find that to be pretty high. Unless they are including a shootings where only one person was shot and killed. But when I hear the word MASS that makes me think multiple or a lot of people were killed.
I wish it didn't take Tam losing her niece for them to really tackle this topic...this has been an ongoing problem and they have not been very vocal about it ...ppl often dnt care as much as they should until they are affected...Prayers for the families of all the victims..
It's not just them its the nature of the news, access to social media, gun lobbyist, the NRA, amongst several other entities! Every few months or weeks this happens and just as quickly the masses forget as is the nature of our current world!
It's not just them. It is the way of the world/people. Rarely does someone make a stance until it really affects them. Who do you know that has walked into a battle that hasn't affected them? Or has no chance of affecting them.
I pray that when Tamera is ready to comeback the holy spirit heals her heart becuase tragic events like this can sometimes change people for the worst. And Also I pray for the other 12 victims family and friends who have been affected by this i pray healing of their hearts as well.
I live in the more dangerous state of Mexico. I live in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. I seen so many things happen. But you know what? I never had any access to guns. I know here live bad people too. But you know whats the difference? This people know that innocent people should never be put in risk. They have never tried to put us in danger just for an act of “revenge” or hate. We respect each other. I live in a country where is illegal to have guns. If you see someone has a gun, you know something is wrong and you have the chance to see the red flags before anything happens. But what I want to say to all of you is that I live in the most dangerous state of Mexico but I do NOT live in fear. I hope you never forget that things can change. I send you all my love and prayers, Never lose hope.
You do not live in fear?? Yet the cartel has all the guns and terrorize towns with these same guns that you and your family dont have access to and cannot use to defend yourselves. What a joke and what a poor argument. Mexico is the reason and the perfect example why we don't want guns banned in the US.
@@aa0821 The difference is that in Mexico if you don't mess with the cartel, they don't mess with you. In the United States INNOCENT people die because the government does not want to take action and makes poor excuses against the shooters like "Oh they had PTSD". We are not asking for guns to be banned. We're asking for control. There is no reason why a person with PTSD, who can be a danger to himself and especially to other people should have a gun.
I'm not saying that my country is perfect. Like i said, i've seen a lot of things too. I’m trying to send support. Sometimes we have to see the good in the bad. I know how the world see my country. You have to live here to fully understand. I'm not gonna to respond to those of you that send hate comments. It’s not a competition about what country is better than the other you know? Thank you to those of you who understand that.
This is too real😢 I literally was arguing with some guy months ago talking about, “mass shootings are so rare, it’s not even something you should be worried about or living in fear”. I’m in Woodland Hills and have so many friends who live in Thousand Oaks and had a friend who was at this bar this same night. I’m so thankful she made it out alive but others weren’t as fortunate. People want to keep acting like these things aren’t a problem and it’s sickening!
I`m from South Africa and i truly shed a tear with Jeannie and the entire Fam there! what`s happening in the US needs action, immediate action that is. I`m truly hurt by the stats which indicate that out of the entire year , only 4 days had no violence, only 4 days that people decided to really enjoy life and be civilized within their own spaces. I`m truly hurt by this and I send my heart out to those affected ❤😭😞💔
You ladies are such heroes to even talk about this when you're hurting so badly. This is such an important thing to keep talking about. You ladies seriously rock. Keep doing what you do.
Survivor guilt is what they must feel as well a shocked and anger. When will this be over and done? When is ENOUGH IS ENOUGH? How many mass shooting had to happen for a change to finally happen? When can US CITIZENS finally feel safe in their own neighborhoods?
My heart is so broken for all of these families, when I seen the article that Tamera was looking for her niece I felt “she’ll turn up” and I expected to get an update saying she was found. My heart once again breaks for everyone. My prayers and positive thoughts are with everyone this has effected.
@Nattie bubbles Nice response. So he deserved it? OK no problem I hope you feel the same way about these white people killed at Thousand oaks. I see no difference
What about the 11 others killed in this shooting? 🤔 Trayvon was not killed in this or any mass shooting so stop trying to connect him with these shootings.
R.I.P to the 12 victims and my heart and prayers go out to their families and it has been almost 3 years since this massive shooting happen and I am never going to let gun violence happen to any body else again so I will never stop fighting until my dyeing day. Also, my heart goes out to Tamera and her family you have no I how hard it has been on her and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and what they have had to go through together for almost 3 years and Rest In PEACE Alaina Housley. We love you so much. Also, thank you to Loni for being there for Tamera. We need someone like to stand up for us and keep staying strong Loni and Tamera. ❤️
This last week, I've been thoroughly lost, speechless, confused, angry, sad, etc. for what has happened in my hometown. Yesterday (11/12) and today (11/13) my classmates and I at Cal Lutheran are still comprehending on what happened in our city, between the shooting and the fires. Two people i graduated with were victims and several other of my friends that were at Borderline were able to make it out safely. We are with you Tam...
How sad is it that whoever runs this RU-vid page doesn’t seem to care about the seriousness of the topic and still chose to be greedy and break this up into several parts in order to get more money from ads.
I watched Tamera's interview with Aden and Alaina's dad Arik on 'CBS This Morning' where he was talking about having to bury her in 4 days and I lost it. What a tragedy that this beautiful 18 year old just want to have a fun Wednesday night and lost her life.
As a Gay Black Woman ... seeing sad things like this gives me so much anxiety I don’t even like going out to the movie or bars anymore ... I have “3” things against me that may “offend” someone. I’m a Black Woman that’s Gay ... Tam Tam I’m still praying for you .. and all the families that are affected
As an Australian. I’m so glad my country decided to place stricter gun laws after we had a mass shooting in 1996. Every time i hear a mass shooting has unfolded in the USA. I and most of the country feel angry and saddened that this continues to be an issue for Americans. Gun control is NOT TAKING AWAY YOUR GUNS!!! It’s Inforcing stricter rules so people like the man who did this horrible crime doesn’t get hold of them. It’s honestly not that hard!! Who cares about the second amendment. Just get this job done and I swear u will see change.
I posted this comment before but I'll do it again. This is disheartening. Extremely heart breaking how someone (or a group of people) would wake up one day and decide to take innocent lives. Tam, I have nothing to say that would change this situation and I can only imagine how you and your family feel right now. I just pray and hope that you and your family are strengthened to pass through this hard time.
So sorry 😐😭 to each and every one of you and most especially Tamera Mowry-Housley's family, Adam and every other victim of this senseless tragedy and violent loss of life, may God give you all strength and comfort and may all the souls of the departed victims Rest in Eternal Peace ✌🏾 R.I.P......🙇🏽♀️🙌🏾🙏🏾💋🤗😇❣️
For those who are complaining that they haven't spoken on the topic before, they are speaking on it now. Please give them time to grieve over their loss and allow them to speak on this topic without the negativity.
The legal definition of a mass shooting is three or more homicide victims there have been 39 of those. Actual shootings where there are more then 3 people injured or worse, including gang shootings, domestic, etc is 307. That doesn’t include the single or one of shootings. All of these numbers are FAR to high. Something needs to be done.
When I broke this story to my older brother he said to me "Oh, another shooting in not surprised by it" and that really put into perspective how immune we are with mass shootings. I mean this has been going on for almost decades now, and it will only get worse as they years go on. NOW is the time for action people! Using your voice is not enough anymore we need to do something about this....and fast. And I know not many people want to hear this but we need'a get rid of all Guns (and not just get rid of them but dispose of all Guns in the world). Because even if you put that law into place people somewhere else will still have or want guns...so you need to check any and everyone who has license for guns or knows of someone who's licensed; and permanently dispose of them unless you are an "Active Authorized Personnel". Because I tried to be optimistic about keeping guns around but In The End it comes down to the Question of: how many people have to die before something is truly done? Because you can debate, blame, protest, blast, or whatever you have to do to get your point across but in the end nothing is truly being done to stop it. You can blame the shooter for being a cold heartless killer or you can blame mental illness for causing the shooter to do what they did or you can even blame the gun for existing at all but in the End we are the ones who are dying. Now this is just my opinion *keep the things I've said in mind*. Also which one can you outrun faster a bullet or a knife? These are the questions you should ask when you go to school or when you go to a special event or when you go to your favorite religious place. Edit: Oh, I almost forgot to say that we should still be focused on mental health issues. Because that's also a big problem we have. But we can't just go around calling everyone with mental illness mass shooters and we certainly can't lock everyone up with mental illness because thousands of people deal with mental illness. What I proposed we do is have people test three times year (beginning middle and end of the year). Where everyone will be evaluated for mental illness before they get a job or go to school/college three time a year (like a vaccination). And anyone who is deemed with any type of mental illness should seek some type of counseling (even if it's once a year).
My most sincere and bountiful condolences to everyone...... I have woken up in your shoes. Remember, at some point, at a very enlightening moment, you will get through.....again, my heart beats next to yours
I'm shocked, I can't even process this. I'm devastated. No words can describe the loss of a loved one, the loss of innocent life. Something needs to change.
God bless y'all I'll definitely keep you guys in my prayers❤ my heart Goes out to all the victims of the shooting stay strong and God bless y'all🌈🌺🌸🌟💝💯🌈
No offense and do NOT take this the wrong way but when there's other shooting incidents they don't talk about it. For example if a cop killed himself in milkwaulkee they don't talk about it but if they found out that it was Adrienne's uncle who was the cop they would talk about it.
Well of course they are going to talk about this more because it's more personal to them, one of the hosts neice was the victim. They are just being there for Tamera. Imagine how it would look if they didn't talk about Tamera's neice and this shooting, Tamera would probably think they don't care then.
@Crystal I understand that but like I said they only talk about tragic news that involves people they know, that's "trending" or if someone famous died. They should talk about news that not everybody is talking about. Their show is very popular to spread awareness.
I understand exactly what you’re saying. Don’t be offended by those who aren’t capable of perceiving your message. Trust me, I get it. You’re absolutely right. It is a little disturbing to see that topics like this only gets the attention it needs when it hits close to home. Just cause the tragedy isn’t directly affecting you doesn’t make it any LESS of a problem! That’s what people have to understand. They have a platform that reaches millions, that’s the point people are trying to make. It’s not being rude. It’s being empathetic to the tragedies continually happening & discussing them so we can bring about positive change even if we weren’t directly affected. It shouldn’t take these things happening to us for us to finally care.
We REALly need more than thoughts and prayers. We need REAL action against gun violence. Literally nothing has been done about this and there have been over 300 mass shootings this year. Gun control and regulation is the only thing that will fix this.
Poor children caught in the crossfire. Praying you guys are happy and at peace with Papa God, away from the world's persistent decline into a life away from God. May Yah have mercy on the gunman as well, you really do not know the issues and background of people. My love goes out to all the families involved. Praying for your comfort
You know I know that being a mother I can’t protect my children from everything but that’s why we have to educate them on being safe and always aware of their surroundings at all times.
I’m on the fence about this entire situation. It’s absolutely disgusting and horrible what happened and I will never in a million years understand why anyone would do something like this. However, I understand why people are giving so much hate to the Housely’s because Adam has said some horrible things about Trayvon Martin and has praised his killer plus Tamera has never spoken about gun control before. I just think you never really understand until you’re in someone’s shoes so hopefully this event will change their minds about Trayvon Martin and about gun control because it’s selfish to only care when it affects you. So many people have lost their love ones due to these types of situations so have some sympathy for everyone.
Dear Housely family, Although words can ever take away the pain, grief, sorrow, anger, sadness, devastation & despair that all who loved Alaina bare, may u all find strength, comfort, peace, hope, love & promise for a brighter & better tmrw and/or thereafter knowing others care. Plz know that besides my thoughts, condolences & prayers being with all of Alaina's loved ones, my call to action for solutions & resolve in advocating for stricter gun control laws will be front & center!
WHY NEGATIVE COMMENTS. If you dont like certain people thats fine, but sometimes it is best to keep your opinions to yourself and save them for later. AND KEEP IN MIND Tamera might read these comments just to lift her spirit and all she will see is majority of you guys talking about how you dont have sympathy because of Adam. NEWS FLASH this is not his show and if you dont have sympathy for him your entitled to that but what about Tamera and the other victims family. For once people CAN WE COME TOGETHER AS A UNIT AND AS GOD CHILDREN AND JUST PRAY AND WORK TOGETHER SO WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE. WE ARE THE VOICE OF THE DEAD the question is how will we use or weapons for good or evil. RIP to all who loss their life black, white, male, female, gay, or straight, anyone who had life that was taken from them.
Amen to that! thank you for your comment because i do not understand how can someone be so hurtful to others in a time like this. Even if you hate the person, let them grieve in peace if you do not have anything nice to say. I would not want that to happen even to my worse ennemy. We have to do better, God bless you all
As an Atheist its annoying to hear people only say "our thoughts and prayers..." and not doing anything else. You need to get out and Vote, protest, volunteer for elections, donate to non-corrupt politicians, etc, to change how the laws treat gun legislation in OUR nation. This country does not only belong to the NRA and their supporters.
As a Christian, I concur that more often than not, people are just saying this as a courtesy and they do NOT actually pray. I don't condone it, I'm just saying its a reality and it's not only from religious people. Anyway, are you trying to say as an atheist you have better to offer?
307 shootings why are we hurting each other so much. Why are we murdering each other this is enough. A lot of times am ashamed to be a American. We really need to change and think about what we allow in this country and hate and violence should never be allow to exist in our world. Sometimes its so hard to smile and say am American.
I agree. But I think there has always been a lot of mass shootings, you just never used to hear about it as much before since it wasn't talked about as much on the news and before the internet.
After this is want to reach out to my local government to make a strict gun control I put everyone I'm my prayers love you 4 wonderful women who make my day thank you just remember tamara and her sister on Disney when I was like 10 or younger and getting to watch her now
This is so sad, a mother shouldn’t have to worry about losing her baby, especially when she was going out to have a good time. We need a practical solutions so these shooting stop happening. America has had enough
To Tamera, and anyone who this applies to: “As you continue walking according to God’s will, word and way [...] when people speak against you, God will deal with them because he is our vindicator.”- Dr. Kennetra A Bryant, Watch Your Mouth bible app
Just think, if she’d not gone to sit down she might have gotten away. Sounds awful but things happen in weird ways and everything happens for a reason. So sad. RIP😢
I hate this stupid world that we have to live in. My love goes out to the victims’ families. No one deserve to have their life taken away. I just don’t get how people can be so freakin selfish & take the life of others away. Put the guns away!!! Teach people to put guns away so they can better themselves. Please!!!
At this point, everyday you get to live is a miracle...307 shootings and its not even the end of the year. I can't even say RIP anymore. It's too damn much.
