Can't believe anyone ever thought Musk was a "genius" who was/is "good at business" (c/o "all his inventions" [none!]) and most still think he's "not an embarrassing nerd" who's destroying the world with his cadmium batteries, atmosphere-destroying rockets, and selling carbon credits to major pollutors. I left Facebook, fully deleted everything, when a family member shared an article about a Straight Pride parade and how she thinks they should have a space, too I explained to her that the point of a Straight Pride event is a show of force against queer folk. Pride started with a riot after police members sexually assaulted people dressed in "incorrect clothing for their gender" by ripping their clothes off and beating them. Pride is about standing up and staying YOU WON'T BRUTALIZE US INTO DISAPPEARING She said she was disappointed in me. I deleted everything that day, and haven't gone back despite the pressure of multiple family members to do so.

Yeah in hindsight that statement while accurate is bitterly ironic, given the fact that Musk made Zuckerberg look like a tough guy and now his site is racing so hard for the bottom that everyone else looks good. Tumblr getting a new surge was unthinkable back then either.

Be fair, though. Suppose Robert had said "Twitter is the least worst right now, but sooner or later someone like Elon Musk will come along and buy them outright for the sole purpose of driving them right to the top of the rankings of social destructors," in 2021. 21:19 i used to be designate driver so i would make a picnic 5 litre Thermos of ginger beer, lime juice, sliced ginger, mint, and frozen raspberries so it didn't dilute. Id being a cheap bottle of rum or vodka and tell people to put it in their own cup.i can imagine the popsicles prevent dilution the same way

I can't remember who it was, but there was a fairly large news source who had a "red" and "blue" Facebook page. Literally called that. Newssource Red and Newssource Blue. Their links on each page all directed back to their own website, but this way both sides were fed their content.
