Parting the Waters Oliver Tambo
Oliver Reginald Tambo was not only a composer, science and mathematics teacher, devout Christian, and attorney; but also the President of the ANC from 1967 to 1991. Pictured here as a modern-day Moses who would ultimately lead his people to freedom, Tambo became renowned for convincing the world to condemn apartheid as a crime against humanity. Although he dedicated his life to the concept of universal suffrage, Oliver Tambo died before he was able to vote. And like Moses, he never reached the Promised Land.
