Hi Don, could you share a bit more about the meter? where does it come from? what does it connect to the controller or the BMS? watched quite a few of your builds, love the quality!

Thanks. The meter is on Ebay It comes in three or 4 different Amperage models. 50,100,200, 400. I use the 400A one and it goes to FFFF over 400A. I have seen the 4 F's . www.ebay.com/itm/164579409499 Make sure and order the longer cable also, it's $5 more . I put it right on the power #4 wires going into the Controller, either + or - It will read positive or negative current, and will show how much regen there is. Enclose it because it is not waterproof. For the power lead hook it straight to switched 72V from the power switch..

Do these controllers over heat badly or something?

No, we run them at between 300-400Amps 72 Volts with no problems. I have over 500 laps on SoCal and Arizona MX tracks with no overheat faults, and no cooling system.

@@dcoxryton is that because the water cooling? I’m just wondering if the water cooling is necessary.

Thanks for the build info. I have long followed the channel for your builds. Many times I have located sellers for the QSmotors and controllers overseas, which halted the project (paralysis by analysis). Do you find sourcing from electro&co the best method? The project will be in a 03 yz125 chassis. Hopefully I can re-energize the idea and get to the build soon. Have an awesome day!

Lithium-king.com He will draw them up and order them for you from SENDCUTSEND.com, for any bike.

Do you use any fuse or shunt?
@dcoxryton

The controller has a 400A fuse on it, and I have the master ON/OFF switch to disengage the battery from everything. I measure the current thru a 400A current hall sensor.

I’ve used those water cooling blocks before for a DIY water chiller. I sandwiched some Peltzer cooling units between those water blocks and some CPU cooling fans. Brings back memories seeing those cooling water blocks 😅 Question, why do you buy these kits instead of just piecing it together yourself? Typically when I see people using kids because they don’t know how to piece the items together but you certainly built many bikes 👍.

The only part of this that is a kit is the Motor/Controller, switches, and harness. I pieced all the rest of the parts individually.
