So excited to share this technique with you! I created it myself one night when I was experimenting, and as long as you use an older brush, all should be well!!
I used Fabriano Artistico, Hot Pressed.... but have a play around with what you have.... you can use all manner of papers, even copy paper, as of course the matte medium reinforces the paper.
I'm definitely going to incorporate this technique into larger florals designs. This is just a practise really.... which I thought you might enjoy!!

Materials:
Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed
Paint: Crimson and Dioxazine Purple
an older round brush (keep rinsing off the matte medium before it hardens on the brush)
A flat or wash brush to pull over paint
a clean cloth & water for wiping away
