Based on the 8 years i have lived in Tacoma, I will say that yes it is easier to make friends here. Folks are either with you or against you. The ones against you however never say it, but their passive aggressive attitude lets you know.
Some say it is the culture of the PNW where folks will be passive aggressive but would run from a actual fight. I do think there is some truth to that. Many folks are great and I'd say about 70-75% are great people. There are some that are not part of the issue and are just trying to make it day by day and they are the 5%. Then you have the other 20-25% that are your passive aggressives.
