for 4bi- Only chicken 1 is heterozygous Correct me if i'm weong but I think it's because chicken 5 is XY so they can only get the X chromosome and so the allele from chicken 1. As the gene is expressed on the X chromosome, I don't think chicken 2 can be heterozygous because it only has one X chromosome
Your answer to question 4)b) (i) is wrong according to the mark scheme. Only the male bird (1) has to carry the recessive allele. If 2 carried the recessive allele it would of shown in the bird's phenotype as the allele is carried on the X chromosome. Minor mistake though :) thanks for all your videos, really helpful!
Is it not that only chicken one can be heterozygous, the female chicken can't be because if they were carrying the gene it would be in their phenotype since they only have the one X?
