Tootsie rolls are yummie from freeze dryer. We have done a lot of candy. They don't all puff up, like the Tootsie rolls. Skittles, salt water taffy, Jr. Mints, Bit O' Honey are all amazing. Our hearts go out to you for your loss of Ozella. We only get to care for our pet babies a short while. God bless you for being amazing pet parents.

From a local gardener: This tick has been on display for us to show people for a while. After months in a sealed container without any additional feeding, she laid eggs. This demonstrates how long a tick can remain dormant and how many eggs one female can lay. Remember, ticks become active again in the fall, so continue with preventive measures. If you encounter a small pile of jelly-like balls in your garden, act immediately! These are tick eggs and they're set to hatch soon. Either set them on fire or destroy them by soaking in isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wear gloves if you handle the nest, as it contains hundreds of tick eggs that will hatch in a few weeks. I believe it's important to share this post because tick bites can be dangerous. Stay safe and informed to protect yourself and your garden from these tiny but dangerous creatures! It almost looks like the mother goose chose the location because it was so camouflaged -- the newest baby was almost invisible! As soon as you showed us the Milk Duds, I said out loud, "Very bad for your teeth," about a second before you did! I worked for a dentist during high school, so I know this for sure. I'm surprised to see they still make them! Your freeze drying may give the candy a new life! Call the company!! Haha! Hahahahahaha- I thought my mom was the BEST MOM EVER when I was growing up. When we were little, whenever we went to the movie- which was not very often, my mom would always buy my brother and I each, our own box of Milk Duds. We were not to eat them until the movie started- OH the anticipation. She did this our whole life- whenever we went to the movie with her. A long time later, when I had my own children, she shared with me that she wasn’t doing that to be nice, she did it to keep us quiet during the movie. There is no way a kiddo could talk while eating a MilkDud, AND she’d kept it up all those years because when I was in school talking about family traditions, I’d told everyone that that was ours, and she didn’t want to tell me the real reason.

Will miss Ozella greatly but am sure she is blessed on the other side of the rainbow bridge. All the progeny she has shared here and elsewhere will live on.
