Winning a SB shouldn't be what raises the ratings. He did have an awful playoffs. Good season and his bad games just came at a bad time I think. But just saying he should be over 90 for winning a SB is stupid. He should be over 90 because he is an intelligent, accurate, strong arm, and not completely immobile QB. Like all that I'm looking for.

Those challenges are somewhat telling. Talent is a significant marker. However, the greatest QBs are the ones who can play at the highest level in the biggest games. There is one guy who stands above the rest and it's not even close...

Even Cowboys fans agree that Dak is too high. I’m a Lions fan, and disrespecting Stafford is an annual Madden tradition. Consider that Stafford didn’t even get voted into the Pro Bowl this past season, despite being an MVP candidate. Players know he’s great but the media and fans sleep on him. Before, he was discredited because the Lions sucked. Now he has a decent team and he still gets discredited because the team is good? Lose-lose for him. The narratives are so biased man.

Imagine if Stafford had a good slot weapon earlier in his career. By the time Tate got there, it took Stafford time to adjust his game… but by then the offense had become bomb it to Calvin in triple coverage. Biggest reason Megatron was so beat up by the end.

People use the Lions as an excuse for Stafford not doing anything until he got to the Rams. Burrow took one of the worst teams in the league and completely turned them around in a single season. That's why Stafford isn't getting respect. If anything, he's overrated. Burrow threw for 4,600+ yards with one of the worst offensive lines in the history of football, went to the superbowl, and lost because of ref ball. Stafford shouldn't be anywhere close to that top 5.

Don't get carried away. Stafford is a legit good QB. I've known this for years even when he was on the Lions. But Stafford isn't quite on Arod's level. Rodgers and Mahomes have some other worldly talent at throwing footballs. It's no disrespect to admit that Stafford isn't quite on their level. The reality is that a guy like Peyton Manning who had less throwing ability, couldn't run at all, and had 0 athletic ability still became the best to ever do it. Stafford is legit good, and won a Super Bowl, there's no shame in that.

Meh. I don’t think he deserves either MVP. Henry and Brady got robbed. Not to mention he robbed JJ Watt a decade ago, I believe. Brady and Rodgers should both be 98 or 99, though.

As a Packer fan I could care less if he gets it... sure I'm happy for him if he does. But we could have Helen Keller behind center for all I care as long as we win a super bowl.

So Stephanie A struggling in playoffs takes away all the other games and seasons Aaron has been one of the most elite quarterbacks every year. And the losses in the playoffs are not all his fault with terrible special teams and defense giving up huge plays at end of games that's all I wanted to say.

Stafford can go throw for throw. Their difference is in their decision making. Stafford will throw pics Aaron wont but he'll also make no lookers through traffic in the superbowl Aaron wouldnt try.

Yes. Stafford definitely has a better arm and can make throws that Aaron cant. But Aaron is a better more efficient game manager than Stafford and throws less picks. Rodgers main skill is not throwing picks but he isnt a gun slinger like guys like Stafford, Brady or Mahomes which is why Rodgers was 10th in yards this season. Your not gunna see Rodgers throw for 5000 yards ever.

It's a video game. It's adding up different stats. That's not the same as truly ranking them. Try assigning stats for 10 different individual attributes of Qbs and see if you get the same list as your original QB rankings. I bet you won't.

This is something that people often overlook is that how the mechanics work they have to game the rankings some for things to be realistic. Because there are plenty of intangibles that cant be measured into a metric. So they have to game the rankings so that a guy like Marcus Mariota isn't rated higher than Derek Carr.

@@garrettellenor770 you're delusional if you think Dak is better, Dak has had better rosters and has 1 playoff win to show for it while Stafford finally gets a good roster and goes all the way. Carr got the dysfunctional Raiders to the playoffs with the Ruggs and Gruden stuff. Russ has been carrying that team since the Legion of Boom ended 5-6 seasons ago and it finally showed with him getting hurt. Dak has had the rosters and never seems to come up big.

Kirk is better than Carr... Threw 50 less passes, had 10 more TDs and half the picks.. Also ran for more yards and TDs on 11 less attempts. If you're going by stats, the only place Carr had Cousins clearly, was passing yards. 4800 to 4200

And yet the entire discussion and football analytics is supposed to show the world of difference amongst that 1%. Theres no point comparing an NFL player to the average person. Analysis is supposed to show us why Aaron Rodgers is better than Stafford. According to your line of reasoning, there shouldn't be Madden ratings at all because they're all in the top 1%. Thats the entire game of football within the 1% and rightfully needs to be treated on a different scale.
