Can't stand this kid. Has no regard for opponents and don't tell me some bs that it's comp and blah blah. There is no need to rip submissions like that.
what the fuck did I just watch. I mean, he's extremely skillful, especially for his age. But I'm not gonna get my knee ripped out by an overly ambitious 120kg tarzan that throws up hang loose signs after injuring someone lmao
Guy’s an absolutely liability, pretty disgusting also how these commentators are praising him for unapologetically injuring his opponents after giving zero time to tap. The ignorant youth will probably grow a conscience after he’s experienced suffering of his own. Whatever clown has instilled this uncompationate reckless mentality is equally to blame
I can't imagine ripping an ankle lock that brutally on a teammate during an in house tournament... Just a straight up a$$hole move. You can dominate and not maim your opponent.
This kid seems completely naive to just how much damage he is doing to not only his fellow 10p grapplers but also to his own reputation in that I'm sure he now has a target on his back. When he faces tougher competition e.g. ADCC, someone is bound to do to him what he is doing to everyone, and he will learn the hard way what it's like to be on a 9-12 month daily rehab program as a result of torn knee ligaments and a costly reconstructive surgery.
I have no doubt his 10p teammates are coming after him now after the way he's been ruining his teammates careers. Kids gonna get his with this kind of attitude.
Glorifying this kids actions are going to ruin BJJ for anyone wanting to explore it. This is exactly how you don't act with anyone your rolling with let alone a teammate.
Incorrect popular opinion. Did he actually break their legs? Did you know that a submission should actually be locked in to where you could break the ligament if you wanted? You do not half-arse a submission and hope that they tap. Training for real fighting situations, you cannot hope your opponent will tap to end the fight. You might need to break his arm or leg.
@@Norkoli The kids already destroyed a couple peoples knees. There is doing it with purpose and intent then theirs this. This is not showing any specific skill set besides brute force with minimal focused control.
@@MMALineMover A big point of grappling / BJJ is that you can train without too much fear of injury / brain damage. If you spend your days ripping heel hooks as hard as possible, or punching your training partners in the face, it kind of negates that.
So show us were in the rules it says "Not to deliberately try and injure your opponent.." .....I've never heard such a non sense made up rubbish before.
I’m shocked. He got zero control over his leg locks. He just rip them like he’s trying to break a stick. If I was training in the same gym as him I would never ever spar with him again
@@TheLencho i can see that you have zero expirience with bjj. Come back and apologize for your bad comment when you have carried out at least one leg lock session
That’s his secret. He goes from gentle to straight up breaking your ankle in 1 second. Kid is a liability to anyone who trains or competes against him 😊
i definitely dont want to roll with a guy like this. How many people did he break in this video? Just feels stupid. A torn ACL is a lot of money, surgery and 6-8 months of long and painful rehab.
@@YourMajesty733 yes a comp to get into a comp for 50000. I'd do alot for 50000 at 16 years old. I've done worse things then this to get a fraction of that cash. It's competition. Look into it.
Wow, very skillful but I hope he learns some control soon. Otherwise he'll probably find himself surrounded by a few large boys out back one evening. I certainly won't be rooting for Pat anytime soon.
Not really a great video showcasing how awesome he is just destroying his training partners legs to look cool on a highlight video that sounds like some real awesome jiu jitsu
@@LifesNotHereToSatisfyYou definitely looks like some overreactions but he's 100% still ripping too hard and being a d1ckhead. We can't take anything away from him. He's 16. People that don't partake in the sport don't understand how amazing this is. And old cooters that think they're amazing are in denial of it. But he's being an idiot and going to build up a nasty reputation.
I saw this tiny man trending for the wrong reasons. It’s sad he doesn’t have good mentors to tell him that it’s not always about winning but evolving. I thought bjj was about honor, discipline, and family.
He caught Derek with an Aoki lock, that shit comes on fast, Shahgoli knew it was already deep and yet he still cranked back. Everyone in that room knows each other because we train under that same banner. We don't maim teammates because we want to prove a point. Fucking irresponsible and careless on his part.
Damn, if you can't trust your partner/opponent to use appropriate amount of force to submit you, then it is just a street fight. I doubt anyone in that room came prepared to defend their leg from getting shredded, which put them at a disadvantage - all because they were exercising good sportsmanship. This is really bad for jiujitsu and even worse if younger grapplers that are looking up to this kid for inspiration because then it could become a trend. Imagine if no one wanted to compete any more for fear of being maimed unnecessarily.
This is upsetting to watch. If this was an ADCC finals, I could understand. But this is an in-house tournament. I hope this kid learns how much he’s affecting these guys lives by destroying their knees.
Are there any successful 10p guys outside EBI? I know they don’t compete in a lot of ibjjf events but have any won adcc or no gi worlds or anything? Just seems to me that they focus on leg locking each other and it does great intergym but doesn’t translate outside the heel hook echo chamber. Pat is not terrible but is he doing this to haisam rida or to any other top jiu jitsu guys that push the pace
Absolutely there are. Big names like Tony Ferguson and chito Vera in the ufc and killers like PJ barch. Most competition amongst 10th planet takes place in submission only rules we aren't big fans of the point system.
Ripping subs aside, I am amazed at what the macro intake must be for a 16 year old who is training an intense sport day in day out for them to get so big. I remember being that age and me and my friends eating whatever tf we wanted and metabolism burning through most of it.
Unless he's also spending a lot of time wrestling and weigh training everyday, this isn't really an "intense sport" on your metabolism. He was literally brushing his hair back and throwing up hang loose signs to the camera mid-match, lol.
No wonder this dude had to travel far away from Long Island to find rolling partners. What’s he trying to prove. There was a definite difference in ankle locks and heel hooks his opponent’s were trying compared to his. we know what we sign up for, accidents happen but 3 people in a 4 min video…
I train with him daily. You have no idea how technical this kid is. Just take a seat. This is COMPETITION on the road to 50k. This sport at this level is not for the weak.
I don’t understand. Were only leglocks allowed? I saw plenty opportunities for other subs and they’d just completely ignore to go for a leg entanglement with a kid ripping everyone’s knees.
Leglocks are a great equalizer if other subs (upper body) fail..."Why ignore 50% of the body?" (Dean Lister) This kid was heel hunting from the get go.
@@DOOMUNION Nah, he abandoned all upper body attacks. His main goal is to get to 50/50 and bait you into a shootout. He's good at heel slipping and he's got "heavy" hips to move in that position.
@@nbt1420 ya but he was bigger than all of his opponents. It makes absolutely no sense for him to “equalize” being the bigger guy. Only explanation is he’s very comfortable heel hooking. That’ll change after someone rips his.
How crap has this bjj become.. I used to have enough injuries back in the nineties and early 2000s without all these heal hooks.. utterly ridiculous torn knees everywhere and for what?? Nobody's tapping in a street fight to half them locks and look what happened to Gary Tonan going for the heal hook in one fc
People praising this kid are part of the problem. He is still very immature in his mindset. You do not go in there to permanently hurt your opponent. I have a feeling this kid is going to learn the hard way. If he keeps going into it with this mindset, he really better watch out. He has a long way to go an obviously the wrong people in his corner.
I don't following the wrestling but I heard about a Paulo Harris guy. Is this him they're talking about? Is that a nickname or is it some guy in the mix marshal arts idk.
At my coaches organization legs locks are banned for white , blue , purple you can only do legs locks in brown and black , I feel like this actually makes jujitsu more funnier and interesting, much respect to the leg lockers tho but I would prefer winning by a choke
I understand the prize money at stake that being said such a gym culture can only have negative consequences in the long run. Any athlete can have a bad day and get tapped by heel hook but to get purposely incapacitated by a team member isn’t right. Not hating on 10P just my .02 (still have great memories of a Boogeyman seminar).
No disrespect to 10th Planet, but coming from a very energetic Carlson Gracie gym, I feel like a lot of the these techniques are impractical and lazy. Would love to see how these guys stack up against more smash mouth styles. Best of luck and I respect anyone who competes/trains. OSS 🥋
This kids seems like a big pos on the mats especially to his own team. That being said he's on way to being something special. He's got to chill on ripping subs on his teammates though. #bigfan
Great talent, but he needs to remember that even a competition for money is not worth permanently injuring a teammate. We're all passionate about the same sport.
this why i dont like singular discipline competition, epically BJJ its way too limited in terms of finishing your opponent. but when you try this shit in MMA and fail to get the sub your getting your face smashed in.
I also heard he has extremely rubber like legs and feet and that definitely will help. I know a few 16 year Olds that have beaten black belts at green and blue but it's super impressive he was able to do it once at EBI.
So he shows restraint when competing against other 10th planet guys but outside of that he cranks the subs to completion without giving his opponent an opportunity to tap.
