Path of Pain with a Twist (PoPPV Mod) 

Doing this with the Delicate Flower is a massive flex

he does path of pain hitless and that’s not even the highlight of the video

This would, honestly, not be a bad place to actually encounter Pure Vessel outside of Godhome. Maybe if POP remained there after completing it once, if you redid the whole POP you'd encounter PV at the end. This PV is the "Memory" of how the Pale King Wanted the Pure Vessel to be. Now an old memory of a long dead king, buried behind so much pain of how things turned out, and the regret of realizing why things turned out so. Despite murdering thousands of his children, tossing them aside like garbage, and despite being a wyrm, a 'God', a higher being far above his primitive bug servants, he couldn't help it but to love his son. To feel a sliver of pride in the his son's 'purity'. But that love instilled an idea in his creation, which became a weakness his could use. Because he couldn't help himself but to love, his kingdom, his world, was brought to ruins. Because of love.

When you realize that the fight took longer then Path of Pain

Surprisingly I find this twist to make more sense than the pale guards.....feels like the Pure Vessel is guarding his one and only precious memory This would also tie in really well to the fact that he was flawed from the very beginning.......

If this was actually how people fought the Pure Vessel, it would go from one of the most liked to disliked bosses instantly. What should happen, is that once you beat the path of pain there is a bench you sit at. Then the gates to the Pure Vessel open up in a suitable arena. Getting to that bench also opens up a pathway to it from the start of the White Palace, so that you can leave at any time, and be able to fight him as soon as you re-enter the palace.

Two things that would make this mod better: - If Pure Vessel was placed more to the left before the battle (so that it didn't overlap with the thorns). - If the 'Pure Vessel' sign actually appeared. Very cool mod either way.

this would have made a lot more sense than fighting kingsmoulds tbh. instead of fighting the king's soldiers, you're fighting something, someone, who's guarding their own memories so no one will know what went wrong.

This mod isn't really free, it comes at the price of your sanity Edit: there are more likes on this comment than the amount of buzzsaws in the white palace

Im glad we get to see the outtakes so we realize he isnt the perfect flawless being we all assume he is

Just realize that he had to go from queens gardens to get a flower all the way to palace grounds and then he had to do path of pain hitless with sharp shadow and dashmaster AND THEN he flawlessed Pure Vessel while not even fully kitted out.

This man really took three of the hardest things in the game, combined them together, and ate them like a snack. Bravo. Bravo

The lore would probably make more sense with this but it's probably gonna be hell for others to complete it now

If pure vessel was anywhere in the game, it would be here. I think whoever made this mod should make all the bosses original to Godhome into fights that can happen outside Godhome. Maybe you can fight all the nail masters through sly after you’ve learned their arts. Kinda like the Grey prince fights, every time to hit the shrine or sly it’s a different fight, the last one being sly himself. Sisters of battle could maybe be a dream boss variant. Absolute Radiance could maybe be a boss in the mind of the seer. I’m not really sure about a dream boss inside a dream boss, otherwise a dream boss for radiance herself would work. Winged Nosk is the last Godhome original boss. I think either another location in Deepnest would work or a dream boss for Nosk.

Having the pure vessel at the end of tpop is the most fitting experience hence he also had to do the very same path as well. It’s like his there waiting for you so that he shaw be ur final challenge after a long craw though a maze of spikes and buzzsaws

I actually feel like this makes sense: the Dream Boss of the Hollow Knight, seeing him in his strongest point then to see what happened to him and why he is no longer as strong as he was.

People: How difficult can this game get? Modders: Yes

The funny thing is, that area at the end is perfect for the pure vessel its a wonder they didn't put him there... or maybe they did at some point but thought it would cause some confusion.

I almost wonder if the devs had planned something like that initially. like a full-on boss at the end with extreme lore implications seems like it would fit perfectly (if it weren't incredibly cruel to players) edit: why sharp shadow? why!?

As someone who has speed run PoP, I think this is a great but still not too hard skill test. The hardest platforming in the game paired with the hardest (non RNG) boss in the game. I like it!

Why? PoP wasn't hard enough? What's next, PoH but with modded bosses?

I love that all the vessels you fight are similar to the knight in some way, so it feels like you’re fighting someone you are relating too. It would’ve been cool if the lost kin was more like this visually, with his infection attacks reskinned to look like spells

Man I wish there was a main game way to fight PV. Also it'd be cool if you could challenge the Mantis Lords a second time and it'd be the Sisters of Battle. Basically what I'm saying is that I understand people wanted a boss rush mode and that team Cherry did what they could to tie it in reasonably with the lore, but it still feels out of place and isn't my favourite. It'd also be super cool to fight the nail masters to unlock the nail arts. Obviously in that though Oro and Mato would be separate. But yeah, Godmaster bosses in main game please

NOW *THIS* IS THE TRUE PATH OF PAIN this is such a clever idea for a mod and such a brutal challenge. big congrats for completing it!

It would have been perfect to have a bench before this room and to actually have put this in the game. It would mean a lot more work before leaving the area, but it would also be an appropriate reveal for such an amazing boss

Also, are you using the Old Nail against Pure Vessel? Edit 2: Forget about the part about using the Old Nail in the previous edit.

( sorry for bad English) I think the path of pain was used to train the pure vessel, that's why we see him at the end with the king, no matter how much faster we go, the pure vessel will always be first, just like in the abyss cutscene

And doing it casually with the lowest health and the delicate flower, you my man, is what is know as a maniac... a very skilled one, but a Maniac forever and true all that aside I actually like the Idea of him appearing somewhere outside the Pantheon in his prime form and the white palace would actually make for a fitting location if that were an ingame feature ...only not at the end of the path of pain

I realize even with both hands they still wield their nail with one hand. Impressive knowing how damn heavy a solid sword is.

2:32 this is best I've seen someone perform this last section of saws right before the fight. Really smooth. I just beat Path of Pain, never have I tried something this crazy in a video game. Took me on and off 15 hours (game paused for breaks and sleep) in a span of 3 days...

Me: “this is easy” Also me: *no damage mod: on*

Now you see, Pure Vessel only let you come to him because he did not want to soil his precious regalia by chasing you through the Path himself-a feat which, to him, would have been easier than walking down the street. #MakePureVesselCapedAgain

No mask upgrade, no max soul upgrade, no shade spells, hitless path of pain and Pure Vessel. This person is just flexing on us. Edit: I just saw that he had the delicate flower aswell, this is the most massive flex ever.

Legit, thematically this would've been the PERFECT place to fight the Pure Vessel. The kings image and memory of his son, the final guardian to a past he doesn't want found. Its so fitting. Makes ya wonder why Team Cherry didnt put him here

This gives movie vibes, it looks like they're sparring.

Expecting the average player to do this would just be unreasonable, but I almost wish this was in the base game, because it just fits so well- the image of what it was supposed to be protects the memory of what it actually was.

For lore reasons, having this be part of the actual game would be fucking beautiful. The Pure Vessel, only existing in a Dream, guarding the body of the one who failed him.

Finally someone who uses sharp shadow without trying to attack with it every over attack

This would have actually been a really cool place to fight Pure Vessel, just put a checkpoint before it, no one's gonna be doing pure vessel first try right after the path of pain

Hitless path of pain + pure vessel while using no dps upgrade charms AND holding a delicate flower. This guy's reaching levels of flex that shouldn't even be possible

this feels to right to be a mod...bravo to you for completing the true path of pain, and bravo to the guy who thought of and made this mod, it should of been how you got pure vessel in game

It's like it is the Pale King's and the Pure Vessel's attempt to keep a secret.

Personally I would have preferred it if the Pure Vessel remained in his armor during the fight. It's really cool looking

Worst part about this is if you get hit with delicate flower on you have to leave and go all the way back to grey mourner and all the way back to basin jus to fail again. If I tried this I would have 20 holes through my wall so good on you for doing this 😅

If there was a bench or at least a sauna right before the boss room I legitimately think this would be a great way to encounter the pure vessel and would be way more satisfying than just 2 random kingsmolds
