Man, Patrice is like heroin. Once you get a taste, nothing is better, nothing gets you higher, it just feels... right. And you always come back for more
My depression came back pretty hard and I think RU-vid knows it because it immediately started recommending Patrice O’Neal videos. Iv been on this playlist since 2013
I absolutely love this channel. I can’t believe I have this much Patrice that I get to listen to. And by the time I actually finish all of it I will have forgotten the beginning and I can just start fresh. What a gift!
Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Patrice brought the best out of Opie. Listening to HOURS of these old recordings will show that Patrice was consistently patient, open minded, and understanding of Opie's "level" of discussion. Patrice and Anthony had the best dynamic (when in as 3rd mic), but when it came to sports, illogically logical conversations, and nonsense....Patrice and Opie had an unusually workable chemistry.
Yeah I love seeing comments saying patrice hated opie and just knowing they're clearly not big fans or havent listened for long, cause I think patrice was the only guest that could actually bond and bring a good conversation out of opie
@@jameretief8327 he isn't stepping on his stories, he's being the radio straight man. Patrice was not really radio material for awhile just a wonderful guest. Without Opie that show wouldn't have made it 4 hours a day every day regardless of Patrice, Jim, or Anthony. There was dynamism and not everyone can be hilarious for hilarity to ensue. He did have some moments of sayin' some dumb shit but night everyone did on that show. He's the straight man, but per usual no credit is given there.
"I used to bring shingles in the suitcase when I used to go to Brazil. Baby what you need? I need shingles. Well fuckin I got 'em, I go to the Tile City and get 'em for you!" HAHAHAHA classic Patrice! >D
Sometimes Patrice says the most unexpected shit, that it's funnier than it should be. “...a warning that your house is built on top of a graveyard!...” Damn he was good. You are missed my man!

Opie was that kid that called out the wrong kind of athlete when you were calling out names like I'm Michael Jordan, I'm Scottie Pippen, Opie: I'm Dan Marino.
Patrice had such a control on his anger..as much as he lets Anthony or other people get away with saying nigga without calling them out and giving them power with the word is impressive. That white training in Boston made this guy Superman in race relations.
Patrice had a high IQ and was a comedian. Someone simply saying a naughty word could not bother him He knows when someone is saying a word in an appropriate context vs being personally disrespectful towards him
He's not letting them say it for no reason. He knows it makes better radio when Anthony can speak how he wants to speak plus Anthony's racism was not rabid. Now when Louie CK was up there I can tell he didn't like it in that situation I was say he was keeping his man frame but I dont think he was even bothered by Anthony's comments.
Whats annoying about the "we're two guys" thing is how they always fall back on the law. "This should be illegal" "These people should be deported". They don't even come up with what they would do, they always want the law to take care of it... "We're two guys who run away from fights and tell the guy we're gonna sue them!"
+Billy Nunez lol yes those guys are not expressing original or interesting view points. Just the old "somebody else should take care of these problem, but not in my back yard."
+Billy Nunez They were trolls. Both of them were pretty liberal, regular dudes but they were in the middle of California and they took the most midwestern, lame ass white bread viewpoints on everything because they knew it would get people riled up. Their whole show was based on hating them I think, but there was also that small but big enough following that actually bought into what they said so they gave them the appearance as though they were an authentic pair of personalities. Similar to Gavin McInnes and how his more hardcore fans will tell you he's trolling and then genuinely buy into many of his talking points at the same time. It's all about being provocative enough to turn heads while sounding reasonable enough to convince sheep minded people to really get into you genuinely. While he laughs all the way to the bank
+Billy Nunez dude you are so right, i didnt even notice that. They are just reprehensible slimeballs. "we're 2 guys who think littering is a life sentence" "We're 2 guys that are a-ok with the recent police shootings, as long as its just colored folk getting killed" "we're 2 guys who think 1984 was a utopian story"
1:48:40 to 1:50:56 this entire exchange is hilarious, patrice unapologeric dialog kills me "go on room with them and let funny people alone" he is a warrior of funny
He really was man lol this fuckin guy was like the Jason Bourne of comedy. Doesn't matter if some slick corporate hitman was trained in dialogue Kung Fu, he would jump through the window from the neighboring building a floor above to fight the guy in a bathroom lol really wish this fuckin guy was still alive
I hope somewhere in heaven Patrice got to watch Superbowl LI. The Patriots pull off the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. The Falcons have to be on the list for biggest chokes after blowing that lead. Tom Brady cemented himself as the greatest qb in nfl history and all but erased his 18-0 season choke
First 12 mins of Opie is like torture, he is arguing a point that no one is talking about, and even if Patrice tries and concedes a little he just keeps going talking
Holy shit Patrice absolutely destroyed that Donahue guy. “Jesus was the opposite of what you stand for.” “There’s no humanity there” wow absolutely destroyed his whole argument.
That whole bill Donahue bit bothered me. Both Louis CK and Patrice had somewhat similar confrontations on the show with bill Donahue, although I'd say patrices was far more righteous and clear cut. Just raw righteousness. Yet when you compare how Opie and Anthony act during the two different confrontations, during Louis' bit they pretty much are on his side 100% and are totally supportive of everything he says; not that they shouldn't have been though. Meanwhile Patrice is passionately calling bill out on his bullshit with nothing but reason and damn near objective honesty. Yet during patrices bit Opie and Anthony are at times dismissive and somewhat wishy washy and unsupportive, like they don't want to fully back Patrice up, even if what he was saying was right. That was some bullshit if you ask me. They should have had patrices back with what he was saying, just like Patrice would have had theirs.
Antony pretty much agreed with Patrice on what he was saying to bill. Antony’s position was more that he just didn’t seem to give a fuck but he agreed with patree. With Louis it was more the fact that he criticised Louis programme and hadn’t event watched it.
Ewing doing a finger roll, and missing, losing the finals is absolutely worse than the Super Bowl debacle. Chris Webber in Michigan with the timeout.. brutal
Knick fan here too. What about Starks going 2 for 20 against Houston when we were close the whole time? I think he airballed 3 shots. Poor Starks was in his own head.
You might think when he says speak the truth is as simple as not lying but what he leaves out is speak the truth most don’t see. Who here thinks they would ever in that situation ever handle it like Patrice did.
Patrice, as he often used to do, tried to make a brilliant point but his somewhat limited vocabulary hampered his efforts to get his point across. This is a frustrating when it happens because he is usually on the right side of many issues, but sometimes his unique and controversial insights were not fully grasped because of his ability to communicate them. He said these anti-defamation guys (Bill Donahue, Sharpton, etc) unlike Jesus, are not "for humanity." What I think he means is they are being tribal, i.e representing only the interests of a particular group instead of working to bring people together. These advocates are doing a job, defending whatever group they belong to from real - and perceived - attacks, but if there aren't any attacks to defend - they don't have a jobs. His other point is a recurring theme: "stay out of funny." which I think, put this way, belittles his arguement. What he could also say is that comedy and satire is protected speech, there is no debating this. Complaining about a joke is within their rights but trying to the persecute the person who tells the joke is going too far.
Hmm good points. Yeah I always thought this same thing but occasionally I would be surprised by him pulling out certain words & articulating himself VERY well like damn I wish he would just start reading a little he would be able to have more of those moments. But tbh that makes it even more impressive that he had such profound & deep insights at times, capable of having interesting convos with people who have read various science books & have had exposure to many ideas, but Patrice somehow just had it naturally from raw observation. As far as "stay out of funny", I took that to mean like basically hes saying "dont tell us comedians how to do our job" because would you tell the plumber or a mechanic how to do their job? Well thats what I thought he meant anyway.
If you’ve listened to the show enough, you would hear just how articulate Patrice is - callers have called in and mentioned his deep vocabulary COUNTLESS times, often those who even disagreed with him - listen to more shows for crying out loud LOL
+dontbeshady411 that IS kind of how religion works seeing as I was born catholic and baptized and all that bullshit yet am not religious and don't believe it or practice it whatsoever therefore am not considered a catholic
dontbeshady411 .. You can't honestly believe Judaism is not a religion but is in fact an "ethnicity", can you? If so, please explain how 1 would go about changing their ethnicities to Judaism like Whoopi, Sammy davis jr, etc etc have done. Take a few minutes to actually find out what you are talking about before you just troll off the path, okay?
1:52:21 I love when rats try to use the history of their disgusting people as a weapon against Christians. Jesus came to reject their entire being and establish a better order, and he succeeded. We kept the old testament as a record of what not to be and do.
If they got blown out or blew a big lead it would be but it was a great close game . There are much worse ones like the falcons just a few years ago or Seattle
@Flip Arrachi again that might be a factor if they actually lost by blowing it but it was a very close back and forth game . That the giants needed arguably the greatest catch in football history to it
@Flip Arrachi as one team ever had gone undefeated it isn’t an easy thing to do and one game anything can happen . You take away that catch they win . Every patriots Super Bowl has been a one score game win or lose . They patriots have never won a super bowl by blowing out there opponent. What the patriots are good at is winning close games they just didn’t win this close one
@Flip Arrachi there was no choke in the game though. The interception at the 1 is a choke. Atlanta blowing a 28-3 lead is a much bigger choke . Scott Norwood missing the field goal is a choke . Patriots losing to the giants shouldn’t even be top 10
during the john and jeff trivia segment where the question was "what do women find annoying in men?" or some shit patrice said he takes pisses in glasses and leaves them around his house because he is too lazy to go to the bathroom. it fucking kills me.
It wasn't a 3 game comeback. It was FOUR!!! FOUR FUCKING GAMES. By far the most painful sports collapse if you were a Yankees fan. I remember I didn't talk to anyone for 2 days. My mother asked me what the score was at for game 7 2004 ALCs, and my response was something along the lines of "why don't you turn on the fucking TV and find out for yourself." Years later though we find out Manny and Ortiz were juicers so that softened the blow a little more but as a sports fan, that was the worst event ever for me with regards to sports. RIP Patriece
