It’s so bittersweet finding the O and A show through my finding of bill burr... then falling in love with everything about Patrice then realizing that he had been dead for 7 years... I wish I could shake his hand and say thank you. RIP
This exact thing happened to me, I was looking up everything bill burr started listening to the MM podcast he mentioned Patrice and I looked him up I was like woah fuck and I cant stop relistening
I was a fan of Patrice since his first appearance on O&A, pre-Bill Burr. I was lucky enough to see Patrice live a bunch of times, and met him a few times (he actually remembered me). He was one of the nicest most down to earth guys and to this day is the greatest live act I've ever seen. I consider myself one of the lucky ones who got to spend a few minutes in his sphere; he was one of a kind for sure.
@29:12 patrice "what if we got canceled and you go 'well fuck it, why don't we just do it at my house? Here's some mics!'" Little did we know how right he'd be lol oof
Been doing stand-up for about 13 years now. Got to meet Patrice at Tampa Improv twice. He wasn't his Gruff is a lot of people like to think. He took time after the show to sit and talk with me for about a half hour as well did Jeffrey Ross and Jim Norton at different times at that club. All three of them were instrumental in me starting on the comedy Journey. I have a huge debt of gratitude to all three of them. You guys are the best. I will always treasure the time I got to spend with all of you especially Patrice now that he is gone... I love you all my friends
Isn't it eerie how much Patrice speaks in such a way like he was gonna be gone soon. I know the joke was always that he was finished but I can't help but revisit every O&A, hearing Patrice & feeling this sense of "I'm out."
You got me trying to think what was the hardest thing I've ever listened to... Got it. My favorite aunty died in a car crash about a year ago, and at her "celebration of life" gathering they played a video of her talking about an organization she ran that helped raise money for disabled children. Hearing her voice and seeing her face talking on the big screen was thee most heartbreaking thing I've ever experienced. I tried and couldn't stop myself from sobbing like a baby while 400 people sat behind me in silence.
@@casualobserver2380 What was he wrong about? I will wait. You're obviously a communist so anything you say will be met with immediate and severe scrutiny.
He may not have been very smart, by your standards, but he was honest af and he had limitless charisma. And is it really uncanny that dumb people might think that someone who's smarter than them is smart? Shouldn't you also be considered dumb since people like Elon Musk and Bill Gates exist?
Can't listen to this yet. Man's been dead for nearly a decade, but I can't bring myself to listen to this episode just yet. Long Live King Patrice. Love you, man.
I have listened to this specific show countless times without knowing it was Patrice’s last, and have considered it one of his greatest appearances. You’d have no idea that he was so close to the end, RIP Patrice
This was a really good last show rest in peace to patrice 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 at the end of the day they might didn't agree on everything but it really seemed like opie and Anthony really loved and respected patrice they definitely valued his opinion
Dude it will always fuck me up to think about the way he went out. Over those 40 days he progressively lost control of more of his body until he wasn't even able to communicate by eye movement. Can you imagine someone like him having to spend his last days on earth like that? Fucking horrifying man. It is incredibly sad
It's kinda fuckin' morbid to bring those details to the comment's section of a video that we're all trying to laugh to. The horribleness of that situation for Patrice is beyond words.
Jesus.. the way this started with the old music playing... It's like the beginning of the last episode of a good gangster show, like sopranos or something... Pretty cool and creepy
This is crazy that Twitter at its infant stages is the last discussion for Patrice when really it's what changed the world add IG now etc. The end of one great into another. What Anthony said was actually heavy
41:28 the condescending laugh that comes out of Colin brought me back into the argument so much. Up to that point I was like I don’t even know what they’re talking about move on but that one laugh from Colin made me realize Patrice is lying and this is so funny friends always argue where they make the other person the one in the wrong lmaoooo.
3:50 "what is the end game for Twitter?" Honestly! I feel like in jr high round then some of us had similar sentiments. Now our updates and tbhs are posted.. now what? Was it all for our data? 😭
@@panchov3129 patrice was in a coma in november of 2011 this was june I believe. Also in the last year or two, patrice stopped being on o&a as often. In his own words during an interview he said something along the lines of, he wasn’t done offending people and still felt like a “soldier” of comedy and that opie/anthony had risen to being generals, and didn’t feel like fighting for comedy as much and patrice didn’t want to go on their show and stir up any drama for anybody. Which in my opinion is pretty gay and ricky gervais-ish coming from patrice but nonetheless that’s what he said lmao
@@dumbasslive2515 - Yes he was. This person either has the date of the episode wrong or is confused about the date of his death. He died November 29th, 2011.
Opie was an absolute asshole to Patrice on this show. He kept trying to shut Patrice up while he & Colin went back & forth. Im so glad nobody from the show likes Opie & today his videos get 25 views & everyone cant stand him. RIP PATRICE
I think October 11th. At the start they talk about the death of Al Davis which was October 8th.. Patrice had the stroke October 19th.. so about a week after this show. Sad stuff..
I personally think he was killed because the powers that be in gov't and social media realizes how dangerous his voice would have been against their plan to change this world into a sewer and sadly it's still going on, they want to destroy us and they are having huge success.
True but the thing about diabetes is even if you aren't overweight you can still get it. I have two friends that I grew up with who had diabetes as children they stay in shape and everything but other potential health issues that are exacerbated because of diabetes are a very real risk for them. Not disagreeing with you at all fat or not diabetes can fuck you up
@@rydz656 is there a clip of this? Because only 12 days had passed from his last O&A appearance to when he had the stroke. That is a very short time period for Opie to have made this decision and communicated it and then for Patrice to go on a podcast or show and say it as well (especially to say it like a long time had passed and people were questioning why he wasn’t on anymore)
