Patrice would have been 47 today.. I chose to post this on his birthday rather than his death anniversary because true legends don't die they live on forever.. Happy birthday P
@Natural Creature nah man it's a beautiful thing -- Patrice made us laugh and cheerful so much that the tears and sadness is inevitable. R.I.P. to this legend. I shed tears some times while watching his old stuff too
Yeah that’s exactly how it feels when I watch. I am SOOOOO curious on what he would be saying about all the weird shit going in these days. I would pay a lot of money if it would give me the ability to listen to Patrice go on a long 2 hour rant about everything happen between 2016-present day.
Patrice kept EVERY comedian in check, and the ones who could hang, came out stronger and funnier because of it. Now that he’s gone, the top dogs have lost much of their edge and hacks have been able to flourish
Yeah Joe rogan and Bert Kreisher and ari Shaffer are taking about comedy now. God it’s painful Every podcast is about his bits and this n that n mitsy. Patrice was just funny naturally. Had life analogies and wasn’t a cunt

"Have a sip of calmness" after you casually call out a guy for prepared material is exactly why Patrice was so feared. So quick and so to the point.. He cut you different.
@@barnoldwhv that's exactly it. The ones who could hang like Giraldo, Norton, DiPaolo, Vos, Bobby, etc all made gold moments with Patrice. The ones who couldn't just made awkward cringe moments that were funny at their expense.
Patrice telling Bobby that howielooks younger than him and he should take better care of himself is honestly one of my greatest laughs. What really delivers it is how excited Bobby is when he says it and in 1 second Patrice shuts it down
since 2016 i been listening to his appearances at o&a, only last year for the first time i started from episode 1 and intended to finish it. now i'm at 135, only 10 more to go... damm what a journey.
Patrice’s “I’m gonna strap both of your jokes to my chest and run through Palestine” is the only live improvised comeback to save a situation that can compete with Norm’s “chairman of the bored” on conan. Rest In Peace norm, Rest In Peace Patrice. The two greatest.
@@dnbd_3026 The two previous comedians failed at saying anything to make the crowd laugh, which comedians calling bombing. So patrice said hed take their jokes (bombs) and run through Palestine, a place synonymous with terrorist activities and attacks.
i truly believe Pat would've been a mega star in the podcast/political commentary world. he was already ahead of his time with going against the grain with his opinion and views and his unapologetic and brash yet well informed approach with his few appearances he did on TV. the Black Phillip Show was Foxxhole (Jamie Foxx) and the 5150 Show (Corey Holcolm) a full decade before they did it as far as being a "relationship show for men"..he'd be a huge player in the internet radio/podcast space..and with the climate of today's politics..Patrice's honest and logical approach would have garnered him alot of attention. on top of his stand up being top notch..eventually one of his specials would have "blown up" also..
He’s a translator. He’s sees and hears what people are trying to do and translates it into comedy. He notices the exact moment there’s tension when people aren’t being accurate and getting each other and he translates that shit. He was so funny because everything he said was true in the moment. It’s why he shines more in these settings than straight standup.
You could tell he was very intuitive about people and his surroundings, and was able to translate that in a comedic way. I think it also shows how brave he was as a comedian. He didnt allow himself, to second guess himself, albeit his lightening quick wit
"He can't even improv his emotions!" Man, Patrice was so funny. The impressive thing about Patrice for me is how confident he was, especially around other men. Anyone who has grown up without a father knows how awkward male interactions can be as a young adult. Add on the fact he was usually the only black guy in the group. Huge confidence and presence.
his size and that he's black are massive sources of confidence. you can say things that smaller guys can't, because few people are gonna kick your ass, and you can say a bunch of racial stuff that is given a pass which would n't be given if roles reversed. he was playing with a stacked deck. still excellent, but still he had a huge advantage
@@ilovemikerogers i feel like hes a really smart comedian, but due to his delivery he often got trampled over, he often has trouble getting his point across in a room of people who are all the life of the party. i dont think he was bad, just not understood well
@@ilovemikerogers He didn't have to be funny, he knew how to control the crowd and the comics on stage. He knew how to segway and had timing down pat in general. His job wasn't to roast, but to host.
We DESPERATELY need comedians with the ability to go at eachother like this again...even though this show was hit or miss and could get uncomfortable at least everyone was put through the ringer and they all came out as better comedians... nothing comes close to the level of savagery mostly because Twitter would just get it canceled lmao
Every couple of years I go on a Patrice bing and it's always the same feelings. I'm laughing my ass of during the videos, but I get filled with sadness whenever they end. RIP to this man. Louis CK and Bill Burr are great, Dave Chapelle is a literal legend and George Carlin or Richard pryor probably the greatest. But Patrice was special and imo the funniest man I've ever seen. We lost a good one.
The funnier thing is not Patrice but to watch how uncomfortable everyone else is with Patrice being so good on the show and them lowkey trying to take him down lol. Thats what I see.
God, Patrice was one of a kind. He's one of the few human beings who all the praise people gave him is actually not doing him justice. Nearly ten years after his passing and it still feels like humanity lost a genuine light.
I hope one day they remaster this show and give it a proper release on streaming/blu ray. This show was so goddamn good. I was a O and A fan since the WNEW days since I was 11 and these comics were responsible for a lot of my sense of humor/outlook on things.
There isn't one famous comedian today that Patrice didn't absolutely destroy. He is the ONLY person that I never met that I actually miss to this day. He is the greatest comic to me of all time. I really wish I could have seen him do comedy now.
If he were still alive, we'd be blessed to have Netlix throw a huge pile of money for him to put a special on their platform. Dude's wit is so quick and spontaneous, it takes everyone a few seconds to even process the joke. That's why the laughs are sometimes delayed. He could have watered down his talent and made it simpler for us common folk but the dude was too rough and authentic to be tamed. A comic's comic as Bill Burr would say.
You hear a lot about having an open dialogue about race. But in reality, it's a minefield. When Patrice talks about race, he's open, honest and not angry. He's quite funny too, but he really cuts to the point on issues. That's what I liked about him.
I like it, from both sides. Just a couple of black and white guys having a good ol time talking shit with each other. No hang ups, just free and relaxed accepting the differences and having fun about it. How it should be
21:21 "Oh boy, it's a great reality starring Ralphie, called 'having trouble standing' starring Ralphie May, and his co-star that thing in the front of his sweatpants" That bit always gets me, Patrice was one of the best to ever do it man
He is one dude I never wanted to go see live...and that’s because at any point he could spot you and smoke your ass In front of Everyone. Man is a savage
Nobody was safe, Bill Burr said if you were having a good night and on fire roasting the other comics at the comedy clubs and you saw Patrice walk in your heart sank because you knew it was over. Like ok here comes dad. The man captivated the whole room where ever he was.
18:55 Patrice HAMMERS him perfectly- the guy has absolutely nothing and just silently has his “calm tea” hahah Patrice is the best Ralphie May is huge here
What made that even better was the fact that Kevin called Patrice asking if he should do that bit on the show. Patrice told him he should knowing that it would bomb which is why Patrice was laughing so hard.
