Hi Paul Always a pleasure watching the pups development, they are getting really independent characters with alot of confidence, not just following mum anymore, you have done a brilliant job with them bud, they're a credit to you Paul. Thanks for sharing. Take care stay safe and keep it lit.👍 my friend
I your lovely trio seem to be enjoying themselves, great to see them out together. I have a 9 mth old, bought from working farm. Mine is the tan coloured but developing a really curly wirey ridge on back, iguess this could be the Lakeland in him. Hubby bought him to go shooting with, very lively but loveable dog.
That's amazing. I just learned of this breed. Is it true that they barely bark? I had a jack russel and it was crazy with the barking...it's prey drive made her body tremble like an earthquake. I really like these patterdales.
I bought a working Patterdale birch from a gamekeeper in Barnsley 7 year's ago..Best dog and worst dog I ever owned ..Always in trouble and will kill anything it can get hold of including my chickens 😮😮
I’ve got one called Ozzy, he’s almost identical to your biggest black one, though he has a white belly. He’s never caught a rabbit yet but he killed about 5 pigeons, 6 mice and a sparrow in the garden. I never reprimand him for this because he’s a Patterdale Terrier and that’s what they do 🤷🏻♂️ I knew what I was getting, my only complaint is he’s too intelligent for his own good! Little sod has made me install magnetic locks to kitchen cupboards because he learned how to open them! Draws too!
Beautiful patts mines tan with a white chest he's just turned 15 he doesn't walk as far now but he's still fit and healthy and all he wants to do is chase squirrels he still thinks he's 2yrs old would never have a different breed these dogs have got everything
My puppy is three quarter Jack russell and a quarter Patterdale, chocolate brown and tan with white chest and a little beard. I know about Jack Russells but not about Patterdales, she's a delightful little dog, quiet chilled out that has got to be the Patterdale in her.
Nice looking dogs! I read the patterdales are little rockets, but in what way are they different (appart from the appearance) than parson terriërs, border terriers and fox terriers. The function they have seem to me to be the same and the size is about the same. Clearly they are stronger built than other small terriers but appearance is one thing. Thanks in advance.
The other Terriers you mention long long ago became mere show dogs fit only for walking around a ring with the working instinct nose courage and common sense ignored in favour of correct ear carriage and correct trimming for show . The Patterdale is still primarily a worker
@@fieldsportcymru4636 ok. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm in Belgium and patterdales are not we'll known (even unknown) but they look like a very healthy and Interesting dog breed. I'm looking for a small dog with big dog potentiality and stamina. (Active lifestyle) so patterdales are on the list. In the lowlands we have also the boerenfox terrier (loosely translates to farmers fox terrier) who are still farmdogs, but it seems that they often lack socialisation since they are born and raised in stables. (Not an official breed, but that is often even better) options, options, options,...🥴
@Wetl You will not go wrong with a Patterdale, remarkabley fit healthy dog tough as anything . They can be head strong but are loyal to the end and live for a very long time 16 or 17 years being common
@@fieldsportcymru4636 , Love getting out an doing a bit Rabbiting , it's great stimulus, especially for a high maintenance breed , such as the Patterdale, Heightenes that all important, sight , hearing an nose , An limbs to if they see one lol ,
@@patterdaleman1141 Yes love watching them use their noses and hunt cover ,only catch maybe one in thirty or so they move but its more about watching them work so im not bothered. Catch more when the ferrets are out too mind
@@fieldsportcymru4636 OK, they seeme very robust. And I think the look better than Russels. I live in Denmark - have you ever sold any outside your border?
@@clausnyruphjsholt-nielsen2905 Afraid not ,i only breed a litter when i need a new team member so every 6 years or so . They are very tough robust dogs and intelligent, if somewhat willful
@@fieldsportcymru4636 Mine is just the same. Cool as a cucumber as long as the other dog is too. If there's a grumble , he's perfectly willing to kick off. And it doesn't matter how big the other dog is. We've never managed to train this out of him.
@@fieldsportcymru4636 Just one of the things we adore about him.😁 He was ganged up on by 2 black labs a few years ago. I had to apologise for the damage he did to them. One lost a bit of ear. Love my little tank.😍
Our patt Brok had an ASBO in the village and barred from the cricket club, great with people, but see another dog, any dog, Complete psycho , lived till he was 17. We now have another patt called Billy and a patt cross beagle, it's never dull 😂 RIP BROK.
I have used go rabbiting, I used go lamping but your put of season mate, you should start rabbiting around late September to March, not in the summer because there breeding then, because your killing your own sport brother. I had these three cracking Jack Russells and two Border terriers, 4 Lurchers I used one for the day and three for Lamping Rabbits and Hares, I used to go poaching everywhere lol.
No they take too much looking after my friend used to fly them and a Harris Hawk i ferreted rabbits for him . Ive not got the time to do a Hawk justice
@@andydowden8117 Bloody good rifle and when you compare the price to an FX or Daystate an absolute bargain ,Bob at City airweapons hit on a cracker importing these .
Mate them rabbits are no good to eat now probably full of young as well , your doing it wrong mate and out of season . I been rabbiting for 45 years mate , I will try to help you but you can’t go out of season.
