She is the absolute best powerhouse vocalist of all time in my opinion!! She never fails to touch my heart and give me goosebumps whatever she sings. A true legend and diva to beat the pants off all of the others. God bless her!
PLEASE! She is NOT screaming! This woman is sanging her ass off! People are just so damn jealous! If Patti was screaming, should would not have have a voice today. Don't you realize the damage this would do to your vocal chords! She's just a true soprano!! smdh
@@lemmewhoopyourass.6975 uh, no....just, NO. Reggie or Rocky...Ruth....or however you spell her name, IS NOT even on the same stratosphere with Patti LaBelle. Please, stop playing games.
@@Lawrence_619 Bitch do you even go to school? we're talking about the PHILIPPINES FREAK OF NATURE which is Regine Velasquez the Philippines best SELLING ARTIST of all time and The Philippines QUEEN OF OPM. Limit your imagination.
The Sound engineering was on Point here. *_Her Voice is always at its peak._* If the sound is Crapy the Vocalists voice doesn't sound like it's at a full range.
I can’t imagine how freeing it must feel to sing like that. No limits. Whatever intense emotion is going on inside you, just let out a G like :57 and 2:21 and get it all out as many times as you need.
It was in its peak in the 90’s and 2000’s. In the 80’s its starting to take shape upward and 2010’s its downward. But still now, Mama Patti os still the one
Miss Patty can scream however she wants to sing she is absolutely awesome she's a God sent to us and don't judge Miss Patty do your thing and I love me Miss Patti LaBelleI've been a fan of Miss Patti's from day one I continue to play her music and I love you
Patti is a vocal beast.. In my book she is the best because she combines all of her hurt and pain and things in the past and rises above it all. GOD gave her a special give and if you give her a mic well, just know if your voice isn’t powerful, you will be blew off stage.. LoL.. many singers have hated on her for many years mainly because they can’t hang. I love this woman to pieces. I try doing duets with her on cd sometimes but before I can start good she shows out and leaves me in the dust..😂
Don't be disappointed no one I know living or dead can compare to the total Patti package. I am just glad I am alive to see and hear what God can do with a voice and she is by far the best singer I have ever heard even though she is still humble. Humility only magnifies how great she is. Her voice illuminates my soul and brings me into the presence of the Most High God.
She's not screaming, Patti belts but her tone is ICY and scream-ish sounding. She does tend to holler a lot but her voice is just that powerful and loud.
Some pepple don't know what screaming (which she does do at times) and belting are. And in Patti's case, with the voice she has, they always want to say screaming. But, as you said, in tune!
Why are so many comments saying that Miss Pattie could sing? She still can bring a house down. If you don't think so, then just try to come on stage after her and perform.
I wish someone would make a how to DVD for Fantasia of all of Patti's performances, no I'm not trying to create another Patti LaBelle however, I see a lot of untapped potential in Fantasia the way she owns a stage and sends chills through your body!! Many like go compare Tasia to Aretha but that young woman has Patti all up and through her, am I wrong for thinking she could really learn a lot from Miss Pat? She's still trying to find her audience and if she's polished properly she can reach masses with her voice and ability to STAND AND DELIVER! IJS
No! You have it right. Young Aretha (my so close second to all around Patti, has talent, a voice and PRODUCTION at Atlantic that took her to the top. Patti and Labelle may not have had sales but could always get energy from an audience as they brought it. Same held true for single Patti. Fantasia could learn a bit from Patti as she has that energy.
HOLY MACARONI!!! THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE PATTI LABELLE PERFORMANCE!!!! HER 2011 PERFORMANCE AFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS WAS ALSO QUITE AMAZING! (See - Patti Labelle- When you've Been Blessed by QueenOldSkool).
Patti was on fire, ever for her, that entire night on Arsenio. I have tremendous respect to him for always remembering his struggling times on the road, opening for Patti, and bringing her to the house to blow the roof off for an entire hour.
To sing with an absolute heir of certainty, this woman has never been afraid to bend a note and ride it to the heavens! This performance left me saying OMG-YOU DID THIS! Thank You Lord for being in a world where Patti LaBelle shared the same air, space and time as me! I adore you Patti! God left you here because this world would have been boring without you!
just a remarkable vocalist and performer. A woman, who when you hear her name mentioned, people point to the raw power of how she interprets a song. And, hey...her voice isn't for everyone. You can say that about the greatest of the greats. I dont really dig Etta James..but I LOVE Etta for blazing a path for the Pattis and Gladys Knight. Patti recorded a live album at Constitution Hall in Wash/DC, that you can search on RU-vid, from the very early 80s. And I remember it well, because not only was I there for her Friday night show..I also remember that when she got to DC the night before, there was talk about how she might cancel and push back the shows a week later, because she came down with the flu. It was a real thing..it wasn't just a rumor. WHUR/96.3, that was the station that always gave us a heads up for tours/concerts like hers and Phyllis Hyman and various other artists, would give hourly updates on her condition. fast forward to Friday night, and Patti "showed up". So, what you hear on that recording, is a singer whose throat wasn't anywhere near her normal standard. But you would've never known it, because she blew the doors off the place. I dont know what the Hell she ingested to enable her to walk out on that stage to perform the way she did...but she got herself together and turned in a performance, I never forgot. And her power REALLY showed up when she sang "Come What May"....that one particular HUGE note in the middle of the song had me clinching my buttcheeks, because I didnt think she'd have what it took...but she did. Singers like her, are once in a lifetime.
So we’re going to act like we didn’t hear Miss PATTI knock on the pearly gates of HEAVEN @ 0:57 that note was crystal clear with an urgency!! I love love love this Queen!!
It's a real crying shame that the last 3 generations has turned their backs on their roots of music. Since when is it no longer acceptable for young men & women get out on that stage, open those mouths up and wail! you know? throw those damn voices out into the next galaxy! Patti, Diana, Chaka, Phyllis, Anita, Natalie, Whitney, Areatha, Tina and so many more. Even on the men's side of the game is silent, David, Luther, Micheal, Barry, Teddy, Marvin and all of the voices we've come to know and love just by hearing 1 note or 1 word.....Just the singing of the word "WELL" by Ernie Isley, we knew dammit what was comimg..lol There's no more talent, creativity or imagination in our culture because of the fast & ez money in this so called "Rap Game" when in reality it's just the fast track system to the continued exploitation & the dumbing down of our people. No more real musicians, nobody wants to study & learn and practice what's been ours since the days of the Blues coming from the dark days.....it's our heritage & our birth right to protect the best legacy we've ever created. Those iconic words by Marvin in "What's Goin On" will always be symbolic to yesterday, today and tomorrow for us to never forget...thanks for listening.
@ninevahkeith oh yes, it was unbelievable. You have to factor in the anticipation of it airing, the Era, and the entire night was on fire on arsenic hall. It was magical, outstanding plus luther, big daddy Kane and the on my own performance
One of Patti's finest performances, ever. And one of Budd Ellison's best medley arrangements, ever. And at 2:21, she cracked the rafters and let it all come out.
