Patti sings "The Glory of Love" with exuberance, while stopping by at a news stand to pick up her favorite magazine. This scenerio proves that love's inspiration can occur just about anywhere!
Wow what a beautiful voice. I’ve loved this song since I was a little girl. The era of Bette Midler singing this in Beaches. Never knew anyone else sang this. ❤️
This is the first time I ever seen this video with the late pretty and extremely talented singer, actress, dancer, entertainer and performer Patti Page. I was born in the late fall of 1978 in Kentucky. I have loved Patti Page since I was three. This is best version of this beautiful and classic song The Glory of Love ever! Thank you very much for posting and sharing this classic performance!
How the heck did you buff up the audio. These old videos and kinescopes usually reflect the poor audio capabilities of the time. But your videos sound as if you had another track, a better quality one, and "pasted it, if you will" to the video. Amazing sound!
My god. What a voice. What singing. What expression. What happiness. What clarity. What beauty. Do this: search youtube for better midler singing this and listen to a few seconds of it and think - how can anyone so completely and utterly lose the truth of this song that Patti has demonstrated here. I got the feeling while watching/listening that if she gave me and gun and said shoot yourself I'd just do it... (bit crazy, eh?) so lovely.. so utterly lovely.... p.s. wish they'd cut that last bit out about the magazines... the commercial break intro.
memories of my late mum mopping our living room floor...red brick tiles...she used to make a figure 8 with the mop and I remember the way she'd dance while mopping...very happy days
I always thought the Jimmy Durante version was the best, but I think I like this one better. Of course it doesn't hurt that Patti Page was also a wonderful looking woman.
Didn't Patti Page get shot in her rear end by a shotgun on one of her tv shows ? Does anyone know where i can see that hilarious scene , and the expression on her face ? Or what episode the scene is from ?
