Thank you so much for the tutorial!! Out of all the videos I have watched, this one seems to make sure there's no way for the form to be lumpy, the body to be uneven, etc. I am gonna try to make one for my grandson first!!! Again, thank you for sharing! Have a blessed day 💜 ❤
Wow! You did a fantastic job. I love the way you put it together. That dress form was a clone. I'm a retired teacher, but love sewing. I'll give you an A+. Thank you for your time and dedication.
I'm absolutely using this method on my next dress form attempt. I hate the duct tape forms with their ridges and tackiness left behind. This is so much smoother and usable. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
i've been considering making my own dressform. Until this series, my fave was bootstrap PDF, but it still might not be as accurate as i would like. It is akin to making a giant stuffed doll. ALOT of the vids on youtube fail at the stuffing stage, or sadly some other measurement is incorrect, such as torso length, high hip etc. Often as well, the low hip can often be incorrect, showing the extra width on the hip when it is supposed to be on the buttocks or vice versa. I will look into the costing of doing your version (i'm in the UK, so may not have access to that glue or to cheap prices) I'm hoping i can do the duct tape part myself as the only person i'd feel comfy asking is my mum and she is very time poor
This is a great idea, much better than filling only the taped form. It's going to be easy to push pins into the foam when trying on a garment. Do you think it would be possible to do a form for creating pants, from the waist to the floor?
I have loved this series! I am not sure if you mentioned this, but would it be possible to make the cover and fill it with poly fill instead of using foam as the internal structure? I plan on mounting it on a stand and not sure if the foam will work with that structurally
I did the expanding foam to my duct tape form. The problem is, it EXPANDS. You don't have any control over how much. It is super easy to add too much, and even with the stiffer Eva form, you may get some unfortunate distortion. Approach with great caution.
