Literally everyone at the Ringer's face whenever Bill starts talking about the Celtics/Pats just screams "I want to tell you to stfu you absurdly biased homer who forces us to talk about his favorite teams literally every time we are on one of his pods"
@@jlcrimm1In the last one Chris Ryan looked like he was ready to walk off their podcast at some point whenever Bill would start talking about Taytum or the Celtics 😂
@@jlcrimm1 Bill's career has always been based about him being a biased Boston homer. That's the appeal because he wrote from a fan perspective as opposed to the corporate/editorialized sports journo spiels of the time. Anyone still complaining about him being a "Boston homer" is just oblivious about him at this point and if you're working under him, you should already fucking know that and factored that in as a part of your employment with the Ringer when you applied. Don't like it? Go independent and start your own podcast and write your own articles then.
@@hugh-jasole You can tell who has enough clout there by how they react to BS's meanderings as a homer. Russillo has way more sports clout and CS is funny as hell plus the film/sports overlap. both of them can raz him back
Joke’s on Russilo. After his second suspension last year Draymond actually was a different player. No fights no ejections. I can’t guarantee it will last forever but he obviously did some soul searching. I’m a little tired of the disbelief that anyone can ever change. People do
Thats what making a bad decision in sports looks like as sad as it is to say. Take Ray Allen for example if he hadn't have lucked into the Celtics and Heat (who he was super clutch for) at the end of his career his and George current career would have looked very similar
Honestly??? If they can keep Kuminga and make this move??? I’m all in….PG is only a 13 year vet, a very consistent and efficient 22/5/3 who is an above average defender in the league…if they can swap Wiggs for him? I take that all day…. …plus, he instantly becomes the 2nd/3rd best option on this team…and he’s a great team player…. You also have to factor in the “Steph Effect” : PG’s gonna get open looks like he’s NEVER had before, so his scoring will increase…Steph was the ONE Top Ten player who didn’t have a consistent #2 option next to him….give him on end the Dubs are an easy Tip 4 Twam.
People say this like he’s washed up now or something… He just came off the most efficient year of his entire career averaging 23/5/3 on 47/41/90 shooting splits. Played 74 games too most he’s played in multiple seasons. Was he great in the playoffs? No but the entire gameplan without Kawhi was to shut PG down, and he still averaged 20/6/5 on 42/37/84 splits. If you’re a team that can *afford* to give him a max to be your 3rd best player at this point in his career, why would you not do it? Sure there is a bit of a health scare, but that exists already with these teams like Philly anyway. If I was the Clippers I wouldn’t give him a full max, but if I’m a team like Philly and I can get at least 2 high level years outta PG and my window with Embiid is closing fast, I go for it now. Point being, just about any team in the league would kill for Paul George as the 3rd option. His skill set fits on any roster in the NBA. The price is not ideal but windows close fast, you gotta take some risks to push through sometimes. To say he is not a key asset anymore is just incorrect given his production.
@dimitrijetucovic1307 No - he's minimum 3rd and I can see either a 1st or 2nd argument. And before you retort I'm just some kid who doesn't know better - I'm old enough to be Larry Bird's father.
@@chucknola484 Yea possibly. I just wouldnt want PG13 on any team that could consider him the best scorer. Its similar to the Magic. I rather him on a team where there is a clear 1 and 2 like the Sixers.
Dray one is still one of the best defenders in the league, is a great passer, has a telepathic connection with Steph and just had one of the best shooting seasons of his career. How are you going to replace that? Keep Dray, Steph, TJD, and Kuminga. If you could get CP to resign somehow for like 5 million then it’s a no brainier but that is exceedingly unlikely. If you could he fits super well with all their lineups.
I still can't figure out what happened to Wiggins. What happened during his "absence?" Father health really it? That was in April 2023. Or did he just lose his motor after winning a ring?
@@mambaASI they've BEEN developing him for 3 years now, lol... Your take is very old Edit: and you dont really understand how GS works.. they've always developed players that work well in THEIR system.. Kuminga, Moody, Podz, and even Poole.. These are all players they developed while staying very competitive and winning a title (with 2 rookies mind you).. 'No time for developing young players'... LOL.. Do your eyes even work?
Yeah man not sure why they think this fits. Both ball dominant, both have a reputation of shrinking in big moments. Both lost a step. But they also thought Westbrook would be a good fit 😂
Top free agents never change teams anymore. It’s too easy to resign for the max amount of money and just force a trade to whatever team you want 1 year later. That’s literally what pg did the last time he was a free agent when he resigned for the Max amount with the thunder
Malik monk has progressed into a true combo guard-he can pass the ball better than klay ever could and effectively play backup point guard. They aren’t the same. Malik is much, much more valuable at this point
I know the Clippers went further than they ever have in the playoffs because of George but if he walks then giving up Shai for him will go down as an all time terrible trade.
The dilemma is Golden State isn’t the elite shooting team to play small ball and they are not very big. Kuminga has gotten better every year and does well when given the opportunity. I think if he is given the opportunity he can be a really good second option and sometimes be the main scorer. Podz and TJD are young and have upside. If they can move off Wiggins and get another decent piece I think they can be pretty good. Not sure trading all the young pieces for a older star gutting your team of young depth is the answer.
Hot take - Jimmy Butler’s free agency will have the greatest effect on title odds if he chooses to leave Miami. I’ll take Jimmy as my first or second option for a title over PG any day. 2 finals appearances over 4 years. Can’t recall the last finals PG played in. Love PG, but he’s not the biggest question with regards to championship odds.
LeBron with James Harden and Kawhi Leonard makes no sense. Only LeBron would think it could work (considering he thought the Russ trade was a good idea)
Can you guys put up the whole pods on RU-vid, even if you break them into a few parts? There are people who will watch it. Zach's two pods in the last four days have done 100K+ in views.
I don’t think PG helps the Warriors. He’s better than Kuminga but he doesn’t pressure the rim which they desperately need from Kuminga. He can’t playmake like CP3 so he doesn’t elevate TJD or float the bench lineups unless he’s on a heater. It also just makes them older and more injury prone.
George just looking for his last max. He is not, nor has he ever been a difference maker...but if he's your 3rd best option on a team....you have a pretty good template for success.
Swapping LeBron and Paul George would be hilarious. Lakers would instantly become a better team and Clippers would implode. Imagine LeBron and Harden trying to play together lmfaooo
bill is doing his best to get PG away from the east and Philly hahahhah he keeps saying he doest see it works and he sees him working better with the Magics but i thunk deep down he doesnt wants him there ahhaha
who do we think paul george is? probably the 3rd best player on a championship team getting paid like the best player. i like pg as a player and his podcast is good but im not sure i would want my all in move to be paul george unless im philly
If Klay accepted a 6th man role and the Dubs got PG for CP and Dray, that’s dangerous. I don’t know how long Draymond can stay healthy playing the undersized 5 spot so moving him now isn’t the worst idea
No one ever goes to the Warriors except people trying to revive their career or when a championship before their career ends. Except for KD. That's the only signing of note. Maybe David Lee
For George it comes down to a choice, does he want to be this era's Ray Allen or Mitch Richmond (respect if you didn't have to look him up), both were great players and both had very different endings to their careers.
@@jamaalhoward494 The point is most people know who Ray Allen is and don't remember Richmond. Allen was either star or key role player during the backend of his career and Mitch, well here is comparing his stats to to Allen's second to last season; Richmond Lakers 2001-02 709 MP, 4.1 Pts/1.5 Reb/0.9 Ast, 0.9 WS Allen Heat 2012-13 2035 MP, 10.9 Pts/2.7 Reb/1.7 Ast, 5.4 WS
*smh* All these talking heads complain about players never saying anything substantial, and then when they actually do, it's "What is he thinking saying that?!? That's not very smart."
Bill keeps talking Draymond trades and all the warriors do is keep paying this guy and starting him. It's silly. They aren't trading dray because Steph and Kerry LOVE HIM and he makes the warriors system work. Plus look at the on/off numbers with dray. It's CLEAR that he is their 2nd best player
Can we stop with the Kuminga trade theories? They're not including him in anything. The dude is 21 and looks to be of the Ja/Ant/Zion mold but at Small Forward. He'll likely be the 2nd best player on the team this year and an all star/fringe all star.
If Lakob wants to stay under the second apron (189) obviously Chris Paul has to go. Resigning Klay eats up all of the cap after that which isn’t ideal. This is the time for them to make a move for a new star along side Steph.
Paul george on the 76ers with embiid and Maxey would still be a failure..... Embiid can't stay healthy and doesn't show up when it's prime time, and paul george isn't built for primetime At this point in his career, paul george need to go on a contending team that has a clear leader and a great structure where he can just fit in and be a number 3
PG3 and CP3 never comes through in the playoffs. I hope the warriors get rid of Chris Paul and don’t try to get Paul George. They need young athletic guys to build not these old guys that are way past their prime.
Russillo calling out LBJ, Paul n Lakers power moves while no one else will is phenomenal! These LBJ/Klutch media shills stay exposing themselves and never get called out
I hate how Bill always has some magical trade that benefits the warriors I hate that so much cause dude always wants the warriors to fleece someone and ofc the other team would help the warriors I the trade because of the package they’re getting. In return ( which someone else could easily beat ) but god forbid he actually thinks it tru with a trade and other trade partners before they for to the gsw
@@jaranameer2882 why would the clippers not do it? They'd get a younger guard who could be an all star and they could get a young guy to maybe become the face of the franchise for the new arena unlikely as it may be. And the hawks get to have a guy fit next to Trea at the cost of a weak draft class pick and a guy who doesnt fit next to there star. They also have a surplus of bad contracts that could likely also be packaged into this deal.
the fanatics I'm sure would have a tantrum, but you can't keep paying top rates for extremely niche, ageing players. Klay's time as a Warrior should be over. Draymond's time as a Warrior should have been over. Steph is paid like he isn't dependent on Dray's playmaking.... so then Dray is a defensive marshal for mega money. As a great player, to stay competitive your team has to transition over time. Warriors got a shot of adrenaline in 2021. It was a parting of the waves to win that one. It isn't going to happen again. Reconfiguring should have started last year.
That would be something. LeBron would actually get Wemby the ball and then Wemby can defend for both of them since Bron takes over half the plays off on defense.
