It's great to hear from Dr. Sowell again at 93 who intellectually is as sharp as a tack. His many books over the years; should be required reading in all Universities, before a student could graduate. He has this uncanny ability to teach people how to think critically on just about any topic he chooses to write about. Thank you Dr. Sowell for your latest book and the wisdom you share with all who are open minded enough to hear you out.

Thomas Sowell is a brick of truth in the face of contemporary university sycophants. True academics should be, if anything, fearless in their pursuit of truth. Dr. Sowell tops that category.

Thomas Sowell at 93 and still spittin' the truth. What a unique treasure he and his research are. Should be mandatory reading from high school through college.

I really wish young black men would look to Dr Sowell to emulate instead of Lebron James or "Lil Dump" or what ever those losers call themselves. Dr Sowell is a brilliant man, I hope he lives a very long and happy life, God bless him.

Thank you for this! Now we see why he’s been so quiet these last couple of years. The man has been observing, writing yet another great book, for us and generations to come. I’m a homeschool mom of two beautiful kiddos (girl 10 & boy 12) and they have been introduced to Dr. Sowell since 2016. His books will no doubt be a great asset to our journey. My deepest desire for this man of great wisdom, intellect, and insight, is that if he haven’t, that he someday accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.❤️🙏🏾

If I was sentenced to five years imprisonment in solitary confinement, it would seem like no big deal if I was informed that during the whole time I would be allowed to read Thomas Sowell's books and listen to his interviews.

We would have a much better world if Thomas Sowell's wisdom was more widespread!

Ayn Rand noted, …” the collective cannot decide what is to be the purpose of a man’s existence nor prescribe his choice of happiness”. …and “ America’s abundance was created not by public sacrifices to the ‘common good’ but by the productive genius of free men.” I think that means butt out government…!

Dr. Sowell is a national treasure. Why? Too many reasons to list here, but one of the most important ones, from my perspective, is that he’s more interested in uncovering the actual truth - be it ugly or not - and going to the root causes of socially-related economic topics/issues instead of going for the easy way out by scoring political points. Although he’s been like that his entire career, it’s even more important in contemporary times given so many journalists & authors take lower roads… If all his works, “Conflicts of Vision” is certainly my favorite, but am looking forward to reading his latest offering.

Dr Sowell makes a compelling statement about poverty. Poverty exists in many areas of the US and affects multiple 'races'. WV coal miners that are now out of work are impoverished and suffering greater disparity than some blacks in poverty.

I hope to have Mr Sowell's mental acuity at 63, let alone 93.

Until We as Americans begin to live out the declaration of Independence in our own lives we are going to continue down the slippery slope. The declaration declares that we are creatures made by a creator and he has given us unalienable rights. It is our duty to teach these rights to each other and to our children and to stand guard over those rights so that no government would encroach your trespass against the rights given us by providence. We have cast our creator out of the public Square and live our lives with no sense of duty we're obligation to the one that made us from nothing and gave us life liberty and the ability to pursue those things we think will make us happy. We stand by and watch the liberties of people being trampled upon by this government and say nothing We stand by and let this government take money from successful individuals and applaud that it's given to people who won't even try to work. We must take care of our own house and live responsibly before we can ever expect the officials in government to do the same.

For years I read comments from people in the u.S. UK and France and both British and French would complain about wealthy citizens who would leave the country for periods of time to avoid taxes. And I would think what do you expect, what would you do.

He is saying that tax cuts on the rich don't work, but then he gives the example of hoover cutting taxes and it ended up in more tax revenue. a little confusing?

suicide rate has skyrocketed I have had friends commit suicide, they seemd very happy mostof the time yet they did, his brother was so distraught he commited suicide too. a friends hubby commited suicide he had drug problems. in japan the rate is super high, stress plus exhaustion is very determintal to peoples happiness.

Median IQ plays a major role too, but it's a taboo subject.

The governments, state and federal, need much less money.

I love how Sowell likes to make comparisons with foreign examples where homogeneity vs systemic racism made all the difference between asians and black americans.

He just compared the average income of the entire black population to the average of the poorest counties in this country. Wow.

When Ben Shapiro was asked at a College who he would ideally want for president he immediately said Thomas Sowell without hesitation.

I feel like Thomas Sowell isn't really making any criticism that doesn't apply equally well to his own work. He also seems to purposefully be ignoring establish correlations between birth circumstances and economic status as a way to legitimize well-worm and empty polemics. It's discouraging to see so many praise him for clarity and intelligence when he's repeating the same disproven points privileged people have been recycling for years. Important topics like this deserve substantial analysis, rather than this strawman performance art, and it's sad to see "smart people being dumb"--especially when they think they're pointing it out in others. Anyone who takes him too seriously should really consider reading the arguments he mischaracterised here as they were presented by the authors. I realize it's just the title of the book,but the use of the word "fallacy " like this is incorrect and contributes to the issue or words being so widely invoked they lose their meaning, which is ironic given his criticism of intellectuals and how he seems to not consider himself one. That being said, Thomas Sowell is certain to attain enlightenment; and I don't mean to disparage him. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo
