Looking carefully and I can't see anybody more titanic than Paul on that stage there's a reason why he is always the closing act of this kind of all-stars concerts.

Yes Robert Plant is playing Paul's hofner. This was the very first live sighting of the Hofner since Beatle days. It went back to its case after Kampuchea and Paul wouldn't use it live again until his 89 tour.
You can watch the Rockpile video with Robert Plant doing Little Sister from this same concert. It is clearly Robert Plant who is 'playing' Paul's Hofner bass.
Looks like when PM took a step away from the mic to make room…Pete thought better of it. Sorta impressive that someone that trashed is still ambulatory.
@@Fredrockroll Again, Laurence Juber (Wings guitarrist in that period... the guy playing the cherry SG) let me know that the guy playing the Hofner was JPJ not Plant... don`t think you know more than LJ! I was only 10 years old at the time when I saw this video on MTV, just learning about how rock and roll worked, and I thought they were out to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the greatest rock and roll band ever assembled! It looked a crowd on stage--2,000 guitar players, five drummers (I know I'm exaggerating, but that's what it looked like to me!) Some of these guys were from bands I'd already seen on MTV, like the Pretenders and Elvis Costello. I thought, "this must be what rock and roll heaven" looks like!"

This is why McCartney is one of my four on the Mt. Rushmore of Rock- he has stage presence as shown here, but also required to be on my 'Mt. Rushmore', one must also be able to write, compose, play multiple instruments and vocalize, which Mr. 'M' excels at.

Paul McCartney being absolutely Magnificent as always, Pete Townsend off his famous imposing and attempting to be noticed and Linda McCartney trying to look useful but as usual she looks pathetic pretending to be playing or part of a band, that was Paul’s biggest mistake including Linda in his band, she stands out as a misfit unfortunately every time they showed her.
