Ive follwed this man since i was 16. First time i saw him 1st Oct 1972 at the Coatham Bowl Redcar with Free atill my favourite Band and hes still my favourite singer . I was 19 then....memories of one of the finest bands ever ❤
There's someone for wich the time seems to be ageless, this guy is working so hard that surely had his own place in heaven. Paul folks has to thank you because you exist! I wish you all the best!!! Claudio
Damn, this guy's voice is unf***ing believable!!!Paul is one of a kind.Timeless and like no other.,Thank God for all you guys posting the old Free stuff.
I'm massively relieved that there are scores of Free fans on these Paul Rodgers videos reinforcing my thoughts that these over-performed covers, by posing session musicians, just lack all the character and edge that Free had when they played them with soul. I loved seeing Simon Kirke and I suppose even Ralphs when Bad Company toured last year, I only sincerely hope that he leaves these kids at home in their beds when he tours solo this year, and bands together the old hands.
damm awesome rock song from paul rodgers love this classic song from free, i have the concert this is to on dvd, and it is bloody good. damm don't he just sing this good, i would so love to sing with him one day. the feels on this song damm insane for me.
completely disagree with those who did not like the guitars on this video howard leese (the old guy) is a fantastic guitar player who took Heart to rock and roll prominence and the kid (17 yrs old in this video) is kurtis dengler he has to be one of the best players at his age that i have ever heard and at 51 yrs old i have heard almost all of the greats from clapton to robin trower this kid tears it up all the way through the whole dvd
Definitely not elevator music (or 'lift' music as it is correctly termed in Britain). J7management, 'I'll Be Creeping' is a 'Free' song, so Paul's just singing it like he did in the old days. To those detractors of Paul's voice, don't be silly, you try and sing like him. His voice is still sounding great.
Think you are missing the point, these guys are not trying to re create that time ! yeah l know exactly what you mean but that was 40 years ago !! this is celebration of the music if it has a new slant well hey so what, still keeping these songs live is what it is all about.
@JIP1428 I disagree, I think the rhythmn section, especially Andy fraser, was the backbone of the band. Especially since he composed the majority of the music. Paul Kossoff had a beautiful, almost unparalelled lead tone, but was more the pretty veneer over the slick driving blues coming from behind him. (Obviously I'm not saying Koss didn't write his own guitar parts, of course he did, but usually the song is credited to the musician who came up with the lead melodies which was typically Fraser)
Bands that Paul Rodgers has been in that have changed the course of Rock History: 1. Free 2. Bad Company 3. Queen (sort of) As John Mellencamp, a RR HOF'er, once said, "Is this man in the Hall of Fame?" NOPE. HOF is a fucking joke!!
Danny Niewierowski Dude on lead guitar is the great Howard Leese. He could be wearing pajamas for all I care. I listen with my ears not my eyes. LOL :-)
Disappointed on the guitar to much wah wah and to much sustain on some notes everything else is fantastic (not saying the guitarist sucks but I much prefer original guitar tone and style)
The free version with Rogers is far better than this , the guitars are to dirty and buzzy so no punch and lose the grove, just no feel in general rogers of course remains the same
Yep ... cheap guitar slkunds .. cabaret act performance even fron PR .. still has an amazing voice .. but now it sounds like a sad revival tour .. not a drop of sincerity in his performance .. my fave all time white singer perhaps .. but this makes me cringe.
