She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” The lady had prayed the prayer 6 times and was still living a a sinful life. Which begs to question did she really pray with sorrowful heart? A heart of repentance? Did she know the truth and yet forsake it? For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins. So yes Paul washer was right. She should go home cry out to God for the spirit of repentance. In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. It's a shame these people are getting away with the heracy. I used to not believe in OSAS and had little understanding because I was confused. Confusion, pain, and fear is NOT from God.

When I first came close to the Lord in my early 20's the same thing hit me -- I was tormented and didn't "feel" saved. Thankfully, I went to the right believers who taught me about Faith vs. Feelings. Feelings are fleeting. Being a believer in Christ is a decison we make. The enemy (devil) immediately tries to mess with us, of course, and make us "feel" that we are not saved. We have to immerse ourselves in the Lord's goodness and have mature believers around us. One things I've learned, the devil will keep telling his lies; we have to not listen to them. The old devil never has anything new to say. He's such a liar. Praise the Lord, he is so good; he takes us as we are and never let's us go!

I'm so sorry, this is so sad! Never stop praying for him my friend, God is listening and He is faithful. Your son's story is so typical though. When you're looking for a feeling instead of simply BELIEVING. And there are many deceived people who believe they are saved because of some feeling or experience they had. It's all very sad. We all need His grace so we can see the very simple truth that so many of us completely miss. Just believe. It is SO simple... but so hard for us to do :( even when we explain in the simplest terms we can think of, people still don't understand... I'll say a quick prayer for your son that God would graciously open his eyes to the truth!

Your obvious love for the Lord will allow his Holy Spirit to do the work in you that needs to be done. Just lean on Him for that as well. We all are works in progress. When we love someone, we want to please them, and that someone, Christ, loves us, so he wants to help us :) I'm 70 yrs. old and I'm still depending on Him for help. I do trust in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Even if something tries to allure me away from my faith in him I just remember his sacrifice and what HE did for me and all other believers. I'm saved by the grace of God through faith in his son just like everyone else. Your telling me that I need a changed lifestyle and good works to realize that I'm saved when the bible says those who believe on the name of the son of God may know that they have everlasting life and by what you are saying I can't even know if I have everlasting life till have good works or an immediate change. Honestly I have know clue how to approach James 2 since if what people think it's saying is true then it would contradict the bible in many other areas. So I go off what Jesus said and he says those who believe on ( have faith/ trust in his atoning sacrifice) him are saved and he will raise him up on that last day. Plus not everyone's spiritual growth trajectory will be the same and may not happen at the same rate. Some may sin more after they're saved only to their detriment while others may grow and grow very fast. things aren't so simple for everyone and many have battles with sin especially in this time and because we are all sinners I realize that I have know right to judge anyone by there sin or lifestyle because I am a sinner and the same goes for them I don't accuse people of not being saved because of there sin or cause them to doubt there salvation because of their sins. We are stuck with our sinful bodies of flesh and will continue to sin until these bodies are destroyed and I for one can not wait till that happens. And also one of the fruits is faith. So how many good works should I do? How many sins must I turn from? I believe the gospel and trust in his sacrifice and have been in a fairly consistent peaceful state till people like you come around trying to stumble believers by making them doubt there salvation by telling them "oooohhh are you repenting of your sins, oooohhh are you living a good life every time someone like you comes along they will say I, me, you and completely forget about Jesus and say "what am I doing" instead of trusting in what Jesus did. You say you trust in Jesus but then say well actually I trust in my good works and changed life. It's Jesus alone and nothing else. Good works are not proof of faith as many, many, many, non believers do good works every single day so does that mean you look at a non believer and see them helping out the poor, donating or running charities, or paying for others bills and debts out of kindness and say "well that must be a believer right there" I would hope not because that means absolutely nothing as that person in this was never a believer and there are plenty of non believers that that do good works for others out there in the world but since they are a sinner who hasn't believed on Christ they will go to hell when they die. You determine someone's faith by their confession of faith in that they say they have faith in Christ alone for salvation. I'm not saying to not do good works at all. Good works are good for all of us because it allows us to help those in need, have fellowship with believers , glorify God, and most importantly we can tell people the good news of our salvation through Jesus Christ in what he did for us. Stop constantly fruit inspecting believers being like "well if your truly saved then you will have the good works" some people might not have works at all before they die but you know what they did have? FAITH. Like the thief on the cross. Do you think the thief on the cross had time to do any good works before he died? No he didn't and yet he's in heaven. The bible tells us plenty of times that we are justified by faith apart from any works. And once a person is saved by the free gift of grace from God, he will never change his mind because the bible tells us that the gifts and calling of God is without repentance. Meaning that he will not change his mind. Salvation is simple and here you are complicating things. You are literally telling me that we are saved by grace through faith but on the other hand you are saying well actually your truly saved by your good works. Your either of faith or you are of works and we know that it is impossible for us to attain heaven through our works because we are sinners and a single sin is enough to cast us into hell as sin is evil and a single sin makes us fall short of the glory of God because he is literally perfect and has not a single sin and never will. I can say I have definitely have a way different outlook on life and the state of the world I'm less judgemental of others, I have a distaste of pride like when people say there good because none of us are good. I can't say that I sin much less than I did before. And honestly I hate the sin in my life. I can get angry, I can be very lustful, I get bored every now, I can still get judgemental and I can get prideful sometimes, I have lied, I waste my time with worldly things when I could be doing something Godly and good for others, I am not without sin and I hate it. I hate my life on this earth it's miserable, mentally taxing, toxic, rage inducing, depressing, disgusting, it really really sucks to the point where I wish that i could die right now and never have to deal with the torment, pain and suffering, of this world again. And when the world is getting me down I think of Jesus and latch on tight knowing that everything will be fine despite all of these things. Yeah I have plenty of sin and guess what so do you. You may have a little less than me or way less but you still sin so tell me where is the threshold in Wich I might not be saved according to you and where you somehow are. How many good works do you have verse mine that determines the validity of our faith. What if I was very strong in faith had many good works and did a lot of good stuff for others and then backslid into a sinful lifestyle? Was my faith not genuine then? What about my changed life and good works? Just because one believer has more sin than another does not mean at all that they didn't have faith in Jesus People like you are starting to annoy me because I say I have trusted in the sacrifice of Jesus alone for my salvation and you come along challenging asking me well did you have an immediate change in your life as if to imply I didn't believe if there wasn't. What change did you experience huh? It doesn't matter what change you experienced because YOU. ARE. A. SINNER and sin every day as I do. Jesus came to save us sinners because we couldn't save ourselves and he says those believe on him (trust in him) are saved and are sealed by the holy spirit. I have overcome the world already because I'm a believer. Now I just want this world to pass away faster and hopefully I get to tell as many people as I possibly can about Jesus so that they are saved as well. And you know what has changed about me since I have believed? I have been learning to just lean on God for everything. Now God and salvation are my only comforts on this planet and I'm willing to bet that God will work his way through my life hopefully bless me with even more joy happiness. So I don't need or appreciate annoying fruit inspectors like you trying to stumble and scare me and rob any peace and joy I have so I end up looking at myself and my "good" works to be saved instead of Jesus.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. Repent just means a change of mind you seem to think that it means (in the context of salvation) that we must turn from are sin and trust in Christ to be saved when the bible clearly states time and time again to believe on the lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Turning from sin is a work. And you don't need the bible in order to figure that out. "God look I turned from my sins that means I can get into heaven now right?" You aren't trusting in Christ alone if you stake the validity of ones faith on the amount of sin in their life and you will cause people to stumble and look towards themselves for salvation instead of trusting in the finished work of Jesus. We can't stop sinning and we sin a lot every day some less some more. If I sin say once every now and then wether knowingly or unknowingly am I practicing sin? Or do I have to be sinning say 20 times a day or every other day in order be practicing sin. I do feel sorry for my sin but I'm not gonna say I don't have problems. I'm an addict to many things and have trouble with them so am I not saved because I have struggles with sin. Paul had struggles with sin was he not saved? Again what is the threshold for this that I would need to attain? I can't stop sinning and the more conscious I am to my sin the more I fall short honestly not think about sin and thinking about God helps in deterring these things Again you say one thing and say another. You say we are saved by grace through faith and yet you don't believe that because you trust in you "good" works. The bible says that those who dont work but believe on the one who justified the ungodly that their faith is counted for righteousness. I trust in what Jesus did alone and nothing else yet you seem determined to get people thinking about their good works for salvation and repenting of sin rather than the finished work of Jesus

Just wanted to say to keep relying on God and His promise. You will have people come out of the woodwork throughout your life and try to throw doubt on the finished work of Jesus. All who claim to be adding some work or holiness to what God has done are in effect claiming to be equal to God. Lucifer did that. Maybe that's the biggest problem in the world with mankind, pride. Anyway, just keep learning about the Shepherd. The more God has helped me to rest in Jesus' finished work and His care for me, the less the anxieties of this life would tear me down. It hurts evangelism because it teaches that if we don't witness to someone, those who are predestined to be saved will be saved somehow because God has already predestined their salvation. Therefore, our evangelism is basically of less purpose. I was a Calvinist for a little over a year. I feel freed from the shackles of it and no longer fear for my eternal place, as I have perfect assurance. My brother is a Calvinist, and I have to start witnessing to him, as he seems hardset in this doctrine.

You don't understand. Washer's Lordship Salvation is actually the antithesis of Calvinism; it's actually Arminianism. So just because Washer espouses Calvinism as a doctrine on the whole, doesn't mean what he preaches is consistent with Calvinism.

Yes, I have been under this calvinistic teaching in the past (scary), and Praise the Lord that the Bible is clear that putting our faith and trust in the Lord's atonement for us is how to receive salvation. These calvinist ministries speak different inconsistant messages, causing great confusion. They don't offer any assurance or finality. Yes, it is another gospel. Because the bottom line for them is that God previously "chooses" who is saved, which they say is not based on a person's state of mind or beliefs of the heart. Calvinism is based on God's decision, not a person's choice. So therefore Washer is actually lying to this girl by telling her to cry out to God to save her. Because if she was not previously chosen by God, all the crying out isn't going to change God's decision. If she were not "chosen", she would be lost, whether she begged for mercy or cried out for 100 years with all her being!! Therefore MacArthur says her crying out is a "fruit to prove that she is chosen". How convenient for him to say that. He is making the Bible say whatever he wants it to say.

It's also a form of manipulation. He gets his flock so worked up into a froth, scared to death, they keep coming back for more. It's almost like Stockholm Syndrome. There may still be the old man/fleshly/carnal nature fighting back or rearing it's head, but in those times we allow ourselves to feel weak, but not to give in to sin. We prioritize obedience, and grace abounds. "Look to Jesus, we are a mess." - Statements like this 99% of the time are a mere copout, and I don't think a person looking to Jesus would even dare those statements. @@nikokapanen82 Paul Washer makes everyone smell the odor of death. I’ve never heard him speak of how Jesus conquered death and paid the penalty for our sins. Never heard him talk about the joy believers should have knowing they are right with God. Calvanists do not have the ability to have the joy of knowing they are saved, because their theology says you can’t know until you die, and they way you know is by your works through to the end. Jesus brings joy to the believer and condemnation to the unbeliever, not condemnation to both.

@@dc-wp8oc I grew up in the Baptist Church, but my wife's aunt goes to a Pentecostal Church. Some of the stuff I saw when visiting that church was just odd. Falling out, lying on the ground, blankets to cover those on the ground. I saw the preacher at her second church (she switched churches) telling everyone to extend their arm out in prayer, as if we had the power through our own selves through the extension of our arms to speak something into existence. It just felt strange. God says we are to ask him. If it is according to His will, He will answer in that way. We don't have to extend our arms out, command, or any of this other stuff, as we don't have that power by ourselves.

The Gospels plainly state heaven is a free gift to all whom believe into and receive Jesus Christ, if we make heaven about works then that means salvation is of ourselves, not of God, and that heaven isn’t a free gift but rather it comes with a price tag.

The Sermon on the Mount was preached prior to the Cross to people who were under the Old Covenant of Law- the one 2 Corinthinans 3 calls the "ministration of death" and the "ministration of condemnation". Jesus was showing the people the absolutely impossible standard of perfection required by the Law. Nobody but Christ could keep it. God's standard under the Law is perfection. Everything changed at the Cross. We are now under the wonderful, everlasting covenant of grace- Hebrews 8 and 10. Praise our Lord Jesus Christ who is now " the mediator of a better covenant established upon better promises." Jesus kept the Law perfectly. Outside of Him, we can't. Thank you dear Father, that when we believe, we are IN Christ and His righteousness is imputed to us. Oh how glorious is Christ's explanation of how to be saved that He gave to Paul in Acts 26: 18. He said we receive " forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them who are sanctified by FAITH THAT IS IN ME." Grace , thank you Father and Dear Jesus for GRACE.

Again, you’re conflating service with salvation. God’s standard of righteousness is perfection, so if you think that your behavior is reflective of that then by all means show us the way. Did I encourage others to pray a sinner’s prayer or to trust wholly in what Jesus Christ did?

I’ve never stated “works don’t matter” or we shouldn’t do works. The point is they play no role in saving us, keeping us saved or proving our salvation. You’ve hit the nail on the head. A preacher doesn’t have to be jokey jokey all day when preaching Christ but Paul comes off as overly serious. There’s always an underlying feeling of doom when he preaches. As if no matter what you do or say, you’re always treading on thin ice with the Lord.

Same here for me around 10 yrs ago a pastor suggested I watch Paul W as he was friends with him and spent time with him when he went to America.. I didn't know about calvanisum then but I always felt hopeless listening to him and never had assurance of salvation.. The pastor told me that Paul W suffers with depression not suprised listening to him is enough to make anyone depressed.. No hope in a, false gospel.
