So your child was burnt, given spoiled food and held around smokers and drinkers and you didn't report the facility until after you didn't want to pay. The judge was so over them.
The fact that she didn't take her kid out of the facility after those issue at the beginning is what's silly. So your kids comes home burned, and you not only don't call the cops but you take your kid back there? And after you also hear about feeding of food that has been sitting on the counter for a week... common lady
Nor as a grandma! I used a daycare when my girls were very little. My oldest daughter was in preschool and also went to the daycare. She got head lice. Without my consent the owner treated BOTH of them for head lice without my consent. The owner got it in my youngest daughter's eyes. I wound up in the ER with my youngest when she came home. Her eye had swollen shut. She wasn't even two at the time. They put drops in her eye to see if anything glowed. The glowing part was what was the part that had something wrong with it. Her whole eye was glowing! We had to go to several specialists. I wanted to either beat that lady's ass or sue her. But since she was someone who knew my folks my mother begged me not to sue her. I left my job until the kids started school full time. Never again will I trust a daycare. For those that do I'm happy it works for you. But that's something I could never do again.
I disagree. That is the sort of thing I might do. We don’t all function identically. Some people are neurodivergent. (I am.) In this case I do think the mother is lying, at least about some things, and most likely about the burn. But someone could easily forget whether it was the right or left arm, especially a grandmother.
I feel sorry for the baby who's mother and grandmother are.using in order to cash out on an honest person who makes her living taking care of the children of people who can't afford nannys. I guess there is always the teenage girl or boy down the block willing to look up from their phones now and then in order to watch your kid.
i can tell just by looking at the defendants that they were able to afford the daycare cost . people with money look a certain way , not a race thing but by the way they dress , speak , and generally carry themselves , u can tell . but some well off people still try to get out of paying debts and i think this was the case here .
Stuff like this happens all the time in ‘daycare,’ but we turn a blind eye to it! The young and the elderly in our society are so vulnerable and we should be held responsible for how they are cared for.
@@alabamamagick yea he does 😂 and they still be trying to argue after the case and he be like, “Yea well you didn’t. Good luck to you. And now here’s the plaintiff..” 😭 I be in shambles..
So...she took pictures of a burn to a pediatrician THAT SHE WORKS FOR but didn't bring the baby in for a check so that there is a official doctor's report? Girl bye!
the irony of this is: JM knows that the defendant won't pay a dime. rulings are paid by the show. (but nothing is going to save the defendant from the crazy hit to her reputation when this airs)
True and the defendant's rep has taken a huge hit. There is a lot to lose on this "arbitration show". I've seen many plaintiffs sue and get nothing but a $250 appearance fee. I've seen defendants lose if they admit to scamming because the Judge says she'll send the tape to the proper authority (police, CPS, Sec 8, IRS, etc.). @@burton6849
I agree. I could tell the same thing. I'm sure she's still telling people the same lies...When you're around enough people, you can just tell these things.
Wow accusing someone of burning your child with a cigarette is dangerous especially if they are in the child care industry. People with false abuse accusations should be punished themselves
The defendant's mother told JM that it looked like the end of a cigarette, the ember that flew in the air and burnt the child. I'm assuming when the 2 men were on the porch smoking and chatting with the plaintiff and while she was holding the baby.
I always get a little annoyed when a defendant says "I'm a single mother." I'm not denying that's difficult, but it's not a legal defense. Tell that to the gas, electric, or car company, and see how well that works.
Agreed, I even get annoyed when folk use the "I am a parent" defence. It's like they think they are entitled to more "justice" than people with no children. Yeah, congratulations, you did what people have been doing for 200,000 years.
I'm a single mother to 2 kids with Cerebral Palsy. I have NEVER used that as an excuse in situations! It sickens me when I hear others use it. Grow TF up!
The Defendant is such a vicious, hurtful, evil liar. It’s one thing to say you don’t want to pay the money. She could’ve even tried to beg for a payment plan. But to go online and leave vicious lies, knowing full well how important online reviews can be for business in this day and age, and to make accusations that could potentially cause legal issues for the plaintiff shows that this “woman” (and I hesitate to call her that based on how immature she is) is a narcissistic little liar with no concerns for anyone and anything but her own self. How horrible. She could’ve just said “hey I can’t afford this.” Why lie so viciously and so harmfully. Horrible.
You said it brilliantly!!! I ABHOR liars, especially those who use social media as a tool to cause harm to others and make themselves look like a victim!!! Deplorable to say the least!
No mother and I mean no mother is going to pick her baby up from a daycare with a burn and not report it. She really thought that she was going to get away with that big lie. SMH
Wow!! The defendant is a complete liar!! She is just a lying troublemaker. She is the type of person that makes someone else’s life her mission to destroy if someone disagrees with her. She is an awful person!!! Image how that poor child is being raised.
The defendant doesn't pay if they lose, the show pays the judgement to the plaintiff, that's why the defendant never looks that upset when they lose. The judge just made that comment out of anger.
@@gabrielafreeman94 There is a short documentary about the show on RU-vid where they say it.They interview the judge and the producers and talk about how they chose the cases and all that stuff. It's all legally binding and legit, but they do cover the cost of the judgement to encourage people to do the show.
@@gabrielafreeman94 if you google People Court it explains that the show pays the plaintiff each time. The defendant doesn’t pay since they are pretty much settling their case on national tv.
So your daughter gets burned, by what you believe is a cigarette butt flying through the wind, and you bring her back without filing a police report nor questioning the babysitter? Yeah, makes total sense. Then you work for a pediatrician, could easily get it looked at, but you bring a picture in, instead of your daughter? So glad she lost. Was obviously lying
Unbelievable. Two grown adults not only lying but lying in a courtroom. What's more astonishing than that is the fact that they actually thought that judge Milian was going to buy that. Clearly they don't watch The People's Court and they don't know her level of intelligence. I could only hope that these two generations don't pass that lying trait down to the young daughter.
Please, Karen and Karen Jr. If you'd suspected a burn on that child, CPS, the police, and possibly the mayor's office would have been called! Also, she said her "aunt" is taking care of her children, and then claims that she couldn't afford to pay two daycares at once.
@@scribe712 ...the "mayor's office" part was meant as a Karen dig. You know the type: call emergency services because a neighbor parked in front of her house or because their dog sniffed her lawn. 🙄
"I work for my pediatrician." Then it should've been REALLY EASY to just go "hey doc, I think the baby's got a burn here, can you check it out please???"
"My phone went through the washing machine," sounds like the adult version of "The dog ate my homework." I wouldn't trust this woman if her tongue came notarized. (Let's see if Judge Milian uses that line from her husband.)
It always amazes me how many litigants on PC lose their phone or somehow lose the data that would prove what they are saying. Seems a bit of an epidemic.
There’s a strangely high percentage of people who come to court with evidence ob their phone but --somehow it just recently broke, got lost, stolen, got erased or went through the washing machine. 🤔
My mom has had my back for my bs, but she would have never gone along with this stupid lie. Definitely not in court. She would've been better off just paying her daughter bill and tell her to take the L. RIP to my mom
These defendants are such despicable liars! I haven’t seen the end of the case yet, but I hope the plaintiff gets everything she’s asking for. Sadly, those two women are probably raising a third generation of liars.
No way. So awful. It's so hard to find childcare these days. It's good this was brought to court so that way her future clients can see it was nothing but lies
As a single mother who was going through 15 years of literal he.ll with my ex husband constantly calling cps, police, dragging me through courts for 15 years, I was extremely picky who watched my kids, I vetted them well and if something like a burn would have happened, I would have brought my child to a paediatrician, called cps and cops and never would my child have stepped foot there again. The lady worked for a paediatrician, you can’t tell me she makes peanuts, you can’t tell me she doesn’t have days off for holidays she could have taken to stay home with her child until she could find a competent carer. People like her are part of the reason it is hard to live in a CIVILIZED society!
That lady is lying through her teeth if her baby really got burnt she would have had every state agency in the world there now she lying I was with her with the cigarettes but now she Lying 😮😮😮
She should have just admitted to the daycare lady that she was out of money and set up a payment plan. Maybe the lady would have been gracious and let her slide. It’s just evil to put her through the false accusations and try to harm her business.
The defendant annoys the hell out of me. First, if I take a shot for every time she smacked her lips, I would be so f***ed up drunk. So annoying. I knew I wasn’t going to like her, but when I heard her accusations, oh boy. I worked in daycares before and if there is a burn on a child, it’s SERIOUS!! As caregivers, we need to be vigilant with those we watch so that they are safe. I am not saying it doesn’t happen, but it’s a big accusation and it should be reported if true. I don’t believe the defendant, because if it did happen, she should of taken her to a doctor or ER to get it checked out instead of sending pictures to everyone and anyone. That’s what I would of done if I was a mother. I don’t want my kid around the caregiver if they are burning my child and not telling me.
Wow, easy to tell the Apple didn't fall far from the tree in this lovely family. Taught your daughter how to manipulate and use the system to avoid responsibility and being held accountable! Great job mom!!!
Wow as liars go, the defendant is as weak as they go, so poor at it that a kid could see through her lies. The only mystery is whether the mum instigated the daughter or was it the reverse.
I hope this isn't an ingrained generational trait. I hope the baby is somehow able to break the clear cycle of their madness. I've seen it in my own extended family. Sad.
I guess I’m the only one wondering how she has a 3 month and can’t ask the dad or his relatives for help instead of asking strangers. Can’t afford daycare and having kids is crazy asf.
Imagine not being able to afford daycare fees, try to get out of paying it, just to end up paying almost 4x the original cost. Plus being embarrassed on national TV...... " I guess you should have paid the $450"
Seems very suspicious to me that the burns complaint came AFTER the defendant's complaints about the smoke in writing and suddenly here in court. Did the defendant realize she had admitted in writing she quit because she couldn't afford it and felt the need to buttress her case? Looks very suspicious to me.
Okay so she said her friend/nurse was a woman then she said it was a man smh 🤦♀️ then her phone goes in the washing machine God bless that baby cause that mother is a hot mess!!
