La proposta di Pilatus c'e': ora si attendono gli ordini...Di quali forze aeree?... Pilatus dice che vi sono interessi effettivi. Per ora vi e' la decisione dell' Ejercito de l' Aire spagnolo di acquistare 16 PC-21, altri aerei, per formazione "avanzata". Buon 2023 anche per Pilatus! AUGURI.

Purely a technical question - why is there not a wholesale transition to the PC21? Is it so massively more expensive? I’m always surprised the older version has a market. I have very little knowledge so these are real questions.

Just a guess: Conceptually the PC-21 is a competition for jet trainers. Therefore a potential buyer has to be convinced that this concept works. So far, from the big players only the French and Spanish Airforce gave it a try and replaced their jet trainers with PC-21. I wouldn`t count the other customers: Either they are launch customer (Swiss Air Force), very satisfied Pilatus customers for a long time (i.e. Australia, Singapore) or have so much money that they can buy literally whatever they like (Saudi-Arabia, UAE, Qatar). So it will be very interesting to see how the French and Spaniards like the plane to determine if it can develop into a bigger success. At least France ordered an additional batch of PC-21 after a few years, so it seems to work for them. Also, if an Air Force is purely interested in an intermediary trainer between basic and jet trainer, then there is a lot of competition for the PC-21. Which is probably why Pilatus came up with the cheaper PC7 MKX.
