Hey Girls! I know you had a lot of questions about PCOD/PCOS, what diet plan to follow and how we can treat it. So I teamed up with Dr. Radhika who is a Gynaecologist to answer some of the questions for us about PCOD.
By the end of this video, I will make sure that you know what PCOS / PCOD is, why it happens and what you can do to control it, so that you have your periods regularly along with a PCOD diet plan that you can even download and print.
PCOS basically means that your ovaries are under a lot of pressure and that is why they are not functioning properly. And this has started showing in other parts of the body as acne, irregular periods, obesity, weight gain and difficulty in conceiving.
As reported by the India Times, 1 in every 5 Women in India has PCOS. So today we will learn why Indian Women in particular have PCOD and what steps are necessary to make sure that we treat PCOS/PCOD.
NUTRITION PLAN FOR PCOS/PCOD
Meal 1: (Breakfast - 8 AM)
· 2 Egg Whites + Whole Wheat Toast
· Idli/Poha/Upma/Semiya (with Chutney)
· Paratha
· Oats with Milk
Meal 2 (Mid-Morning Snack - 10:30 AM)
· Butter Milk
· Regular Cup of Tea
· Dry Fruits
· Coconut Water (Summer Special!)
Meal 3 (Lunch: 12:30 PM)
· Salad (Cucumber/Beetroot/Carrots) + Daal / Sabji / Paneer / Rajma / Chana + Rice / Roti + Curd
· Chicken + Jeera Rice / Roti
· Curd + Vegetable Pulao
Meal 4 (Mid-Evening Snack: 4 PM)
· Handful of Peanuts
· Peanut Butter on a slice of Brown Bread
· Upma
· 2 Boiled Eggs
· Chana Salad
Meal 5 (Dinner: 7 PM)
· Salad (Cucumber/Beetroot/Carrots) + Daal / Sabji / Rajma / Chana + Rice / Roti
· Khichdi
Meal 6 (Before Bed: 9 PM)
· Glass of Milk
General Guidelines:
· You can choose to exercise either in the morning or in the evening. Have a piece of fruit (any local seasonal fruit), 30 minutes before your workout.
· Keep changing the type of Sabji so that you include a wide variety of vegetables in your diet.
· Limit your tea/coffee to 1-2 cups every day and never have it first thing every morning or last thing in the night.
· Avoid aerated drinks (even diet coke), chips, candies or anything that comes ready to eat in a packet or can be cooked “instantly”.
· Try eating at home as much as possible and include just one cheat meal (cheat meal, not day) every week.
· If you are following this plan and skip a meal or have a cheat meal in between, then don’t give up on the entire plan and end it with a Diet Coke and a Burger. You can immediately restart and get back to the plan.
· Make sure you include whole grains, Daal, milk, milk products, fish, eggs, paneer, cheese, flax seeds, walnuts and green veggies in your diet. They not only improve your hormones but also improve your insulin sensitivity.
· If you noticed, I’ve not mentioned the quantities of each food. Because nobody should decide the quantity of food you eat. No dietician, no doctor, no trainer. The quantities that are too little for me, might be too much for your body. It’s only your stomach that should get to decide how much is enough. So learn to eat slowly and pay attention so that you know exactly when to stop. As they say, a wise man knows when to stop eating but a fool always over eats.
Along with this DIET plan, as mentioned in the video, get best friends with regular exercise.

@@uglyone_ Just cut down the packaged food ,maida and do regular exercise and include salads and fruits . This has helped me to make my periods regular and i do take oziva her balance. Also you can try cumin seeds, fennel seeds ,fenugreek seeds, ginger, haldi and ajwain powder tea.

#4 made me cry because it's the one thimg I keep promising myself but putting off. A healthy diet, exercise, readjusting my life all come easy to me. #4 gets easily tossed aside. THANK YOU for showing how it relates to PCOS. That was an eye opener.

But i have been intermittent fastint before even finding out i have PCOS and i had cycts so i feel like IF caused me to have cycts is tt possible? I also have no acne, i have regular painfree periods is it possible to get regular periods and still have cycts I got prescribed DIANE 35, LOCYST , MYOFOLIC SACHET I GET REGULAR PERIODS NATURALLY BUT MY ULTRASOUND SHOWED CYCTS ON BOTH OVARY RIGHT OVARY HAS MULTIPLE CYCTS LEFT OVWRY HEMOGRAPHIC CYSTS WILL SKIPPING MEDS BE OKAY FOR ME .? Age 20 Height 5'4 Weight 61kg I get pain from the cysts 😣😣 Mere periods 4 to 5 days hotte hai lekin un hone kaha hai ki 2nd day of periods se lena hai Will the meds mess up my body ?😣😣😣 is it sake to do keto and tske these meds?

They give me plenty of strength and also reduce my desire for food, but I don`t crash when they wear off which I love, and they don`t make me jittery. Thank you for making such an amazing video. This is just what I needed to see. Have been suffering from this disease from 10 years and its made me gain 15-20 kg above my optimum weight. Meds have only treated the symptoms not the root cause. As you know, services of dieticians are extremely expensive.. and thus I was researching on nutrition for pcod, and landed here. Keep up the good work!

I had pcos and had lot of problem in conceiving . I lost around 12 kgs with aerobic and nutritious diet plan. It brought the life style change and then finally I had my daughter.now she is 5 years old and am struggling to loose again😊

Hi, I got diagnosed with PCOD and doctor prescribed mess which I started taking immediately becos my periods won't stop. This when I actually went to the doctor thinking I'm pregnant. I'm scared to stop taking the pills. It's been 2 months now and two 21 pills cycle. I just wanted to ask, did u take pills too?

Loved this video! I would just add that grains don’t work for everyone, esp if you have insulin resistance which many people with pcos... my doc advised a low carb diet which is tough on an Indian vegetarian diet but losing the carbs really helps with symptoms

After seeing your video I kind of realized why I'm not getting my periods since 4 months : 1. Shifted to a new country i.e. everything is soo different here therefore my lifestyle has been changed a lot n I have turned moreover to junk . 2. No fix time of sleeping ... Like yesterday I slept at 7am n woke up at 2 pm ... Some other day I slept at some other time therefore everyday I'm sleeping at different time . 3. No exercise !! Therefore putting off to much weight !! 4. Finding love ! Or something I love . . Damnnn 😑 . What to do now !! I'm anxious

I do love and exercise together. I put on some nice music and dance to it for hours. PCOS is not a challenge you just need to know it and fight it at the right time. Also, a small advise if your gynecologist gives you steroids or hormone supplements do not take them. I loved this video!!! Thank you for discussing this topic!

Apparently, I found out that 1 in 10 women have this condition & can sometimes be so worse to have a woman get rid of some part of her reproductive system. I have seen a few videos on this condition, but none from India, so I feel there’s least awareness about this condition in India.

Oh my god after watching this video can not stop myself subscribing u the one who said no to crash dieting and eat everything in limit by which ur body will b healthy or else I m working out morning yoga but doctor said for Crash diet my weight is 60 and my marriage is after 3 month so she said me to loose weight atlist 10kg by crash dieting but I never listen to her and eat everything and do exercise along with it but was thinking k if I m not doing crash diet not following what doctor said than I m wrong but I saw ur video and this encourage me k it's OK what ur doing is the right way to loose weight along with eating everything thank you a big thank u to u thank u so much 😘😘😘😘😘😘

I've pcod from 5 years. That time I didn't aware from it. Just from 1 year I came to know about it after went to a doctor. She is great doctor she didn't give me so many pills. She suggest me to do mild workout with healthy diet. Now I'm happy to inform u all that after caring from 3 months with healthy diet and good exercise I reduced 10kg . Ididnt follow harsh diet. I believe that with a normal diet with moderation form we can be healthy. I like ur diet plan. One thing I want to tell u that in pcod dairy product is prohibited. We can't drink milk. If you've more knowledge then share with us. To make this msg so long I wanted to share my experience.

In my case, diet was already fine. It was the inactive lifestyle that triggered things. Once I started Metformin and exercised regularly, I began to lose weight gradually and my acne vanished on its own. I felt less moody and out of control after 4 months. Exercise has helped me a lot. I will try to get a better sleep cycle. That has a role in hormone balance as well.

@@anjalisingh349 yes dear. I have found a good doctor in mumbai. She told me to go on a strict diet without sugar. Daily exercise. I mean really burnt out to cut that extra sugar which was already in my body. Then weight dropped drastically. Then with IUI it got success

I want to share here that i hv PCOD since 10yrs now and conceived naturally after a 1hr walk or 1/2hr jog. I am having a 6yr old daughter but still i have pcod , irregular periods and chin hair increased. I try my best to start on healthy diet but due to lifestyle and stress iam not able to follow any healthy way diet. I wish i would make up my mind and start taking care of my health soon !!!!

Instead of taking cow's milk, u can take almond milk. Soak 6 almonds in the water before u sleep. It will be soaked nearly 6-7hours. Then grind it after peeling the skin. U will get badam milk. Which is very healthy for pcod and also for our bones .😊
