Tracy, Garmin has an app you can download on your phone that sync's through Bluetooth to your InReach. You can use your phone to send and receive texts. Makes it way more user friendly . It's called Garmin Earthmate
I really appreciate that you show what the resupply stores look like! I never know what people mean when they say a store should have everything you need. Details like that and that the lodging gives you a bucket to wash clothes in are super helpful for a future hiker :D
Hello Tracy, I appreciate you allowing me to tag along on your PCT trek. I'm enjoying the journey from the comfort of my recliner. Please be safe out there and enjoy the journey. See you on the next one. 🤗
I am really, really enjoying your videos. You’ve got it all going right....good image stabilization from the camera, perfect timing on the pans of the scenery (for future videographers, I know it can feel like you are moving in slow motion when panning in real time, but for viewers it is perfect 👌. And it allows the camera to capture the images without ‘stuttering’. Condor, you are doing it right! ) ....and excellent mix of personal story telling and views of the trail and terrain. For me, and maybe for others, we become invested in the person having the adventure. So your highs and lows are a story we are experiencing in real time. You folks on the trail are creating visual stories as exciting as the written stories like “Shackleton”. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible adventure. Every posting is like a new, exciting chapter. We don’t know what is going to happen next. Heck, in this case, even You don’t know what is going to happen next on the PCT! 😁. Have a wonderful day! 👍🏕☀️
It has been a delight viewing the photos and videos from your travels on the PCT. I enjoy watching your travels and commentary on the trail. I find myself feeling more connected to nature in the remote, far away spaces, you provide, for others and I, on my computer screen, in easy access. As I watch your piece on the fourth day, a close up of the species of lichen, called Evernia prunastri, commonly called oakmoss, I become a little less focused on the normal daily grind, and move to a more peaceful state. Memories of the trails and wonderful discoveries from my childhood, now decades in my past, are remembered, like old friends. Thank you for the gift.
Hey Condor...watched ya from the beginning. You're doing an awesome job. I can't wait for the day I get to step foot on that great journey. You so nonchalantly brushed off the fire ant bites, you rock. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Tiki..... nice video. More information on the birds that you are encountering, please! Love your attitude and the pleasure of the hike in your voice. Thanks for bringing us along on your adventure. Best wishes..... Ax
Please hike your own hike➖you will be behind and ahead of everyone in your trail family and the most important part of this journey is making it and making it your own. So glad you’re getting your “trail legs“ and acclimating to your new life on the trail. I am with you in spirit. Keep on keepin on‼️🌿
I'm enjoying your videos, thanks for posting them. The red color in the "clay" is due to iron oxide (aka "rust") in the clay. We have a lot of that here in South Carolina. Hike On!
I'm enjoying your journey and your appreciation of the trail and surroundings. You really soak it all in, immersing yourself in the entire experience, rather than simply blasting through. Thank you for sharing your hike.
I have watched all your vids. Will be rooting you on towards your goal of reaching Canada this Fall. Sending prayers and good vibes your way. Be safe....Onward.......Yep!!
Squirrel!! ;) I loved that wooded area before Mt Laguna. If you weren't already so close to Mt. Laguna, that'd be an excellent place to dry camp. It's gorgeous
You have earned some well deserved R&R from the trail even if it is for just one night. Not having to set up your camp and getting to sleep in a real bed will help you recover from the fatigue of the trail. That down time is helpful to get all of your off trail chores done too.
Your making it look easy, all your training is paying off. Also your videos are long enough to get a good work out on my elliptical 😁 How’s your pack feeling ? it’s looking natural and comfortable . Enjoying your videos! Continued good luck and good health!💪👍
Today was a good day, looks like you're settling in nicely on the trail. As for cats, I know that moment when you feel like you're being watched, but you're uniquely prepared for this environment from your condor days and should be able to see and avoid them if necessary.
I wonder if/when you will catch Corey - Second Chance Hiker!! You are the two I am for sure watching! I hope my family can make a drive out to CA during the summer this year!
Janet Starr I was wondering g that too Janet‼️ I’m watch SCH as well. They are both inspiring for those of us out out our twenties or in less than optimal physical shape. I can’t wait for more videos‼️
@@Swimdeep i think Condor (tikibird) is a Rockstar she has been training like crazy! She is able to push a lot of miles right out of the gate. I hope not too much because injuries are a real bummer.
Yeah, 4 days! Just getting your trail legs, so you seem to be adapting well. I saw the cookie you had for lunch, it was always what I treated myself too when I was in my bag. Getting ready for bed. Yummy. Ideal hiking weather. I'll be watching for your next post.
I’m soo jealous! I would give anything to be able to hike the PCT. Well, not *anything*. I can’t give up my family, job and house. That’s too much to give up. But dang I wish I could do it!!
Just a word about mountain lions: you really don't look like lunch to them - your pack, poles etc make you pretty uninteresting and even scary. Now, a scantily clad, skinny trail runner moving at a swift pace looks like fun and a snack. Make some noise, clank your poles together, sing, and they'll take off and leave you alone.
Tootsla 125 I know about them but was still just having a “moment “. It was weird and freaky. Probably just being very tired. The exposure was good for me. It’s been 20+ years since I’ve been in an environment like that alone. Thanks for your advice 💕😊🦁
Really enjoying you videos. You do well with your editing to show your days very well. Looks like you are doing great. Not sure if I missed something, but are you not still hiking with your facebook friend that you started with? Or is she just not wanting to be in the vids? Can’t wait to follow you all the way to Canada
Donny Sutrisna yes, both knees. I bought them about 10 years ago. Not sure about any specs on them now. I got them at Sports Academy. I will wear them each day until I am sure I feel well conditioned. There are many styles to try on. A sports physical therapist would be able to tell you which type might be best for your particular issues.
Do you use something to steady your phone when you film? I am so impressed with your hike. Thanks for sharing your journey with us all. It is very inspiring. Have fun and stay safe
Aundrea Bentley Yes, I had to add them. Paracord and those cinch buttons. The stretchy cord would probably be better though. The thicker, the better so it doesn’t cut in to foam over time.
Tiki, I was listening to you talk about sending messages to your family using your inreach and how slow it was to type out the message. Did you know you can pair your phone to the inreach and use your phone to type and send those texts. Really enjoy your videos
