This is incredible! I swear some of the best quality learning videos on RU-vid are posted by such under appreciated channels. This is fantastic, I wish so much I had access to this kind of instruction at home when I was a teenager... wow. 👍

The reason he said a little bit of orange peal is in your favor because the reflection you see is blurry so it’s harder to see the dent/repair if the paint job is really good ! Then you see EVERY IMPERFECTION! Especially if the car is black plus a awesome finish you will have your work cut out for you !
Definitely true... More related to paint than PDR: I know some people like to have their paint super-shiny without orange peel, but spraying with orange peel to match the rest of the car is an art in itself as most (if not all) cars come with orange peel from the factory. If you're doing a full respray on a customer's car and they want it like glass, that's one thing, but I actually like it when the painter has the know-how to match orange spray. If you have a clean booth, and a good painter, they can match the orange peel and everything is clean enough to where they don't need to de-nib or polish after.
Brilliant video guys watched all three and learned a few things so I'm going to the scrap yard get a scrap door and practice on that before attempting my own vechile
Hmmmmmm....good video but I do have some thoughts regarding the way the dents are worked. I am new to PDR and have been shown/taught that when working a dent, you start from the outer edge of the dent and work towards the center. The center is where the impact point is and where most of the stretched metal and stress points are. In other words, the first point of impact is to be the last point to get worked with a tool. Now, you seem to be just the opposite in stating that the impact point should be worked first and then blend out gradually from that point to the outer edges. I know that whatever works is what you'll probably say or something similar, but from your excellent video and clear explaining of how the light "expands" or "pinches", there just seems to no "right or wrong" way as long as the dent get fixed.
Tom McDaniel you always start at the lowest point. If it’s a small ding such as the one he’s working on, you start in the center. Working from the out in will trap the metal in the center making in nearly impossible to take the dent out clean. Furthermore starting out to in will most likely crack the paint once you try to get the center out.
I wish training was cheaper. 15 to 30 k is just way to much for someone who is paying a mortgage and working full time. I did the whole video training thing but unless you have your trainer behind you helping with pressure and blending you are running in circles.
I’ve seen countless repair videos, they never explain how to use the fog light. You did a excellent job explaining how to identify highs and lows…. What is you opinion on Glue pulling?
I've never seen the glue-pulling done in-person, but I imagine that it's similar as long as you can remove the adhesive properly afterwards? It might be harder to see the lines/lighting pulling with glue vs. this method though.
I am newbie to PDR. Most of the PDR trainers advise to follow the rule Last in First out. I understand the approach differs based on the dent but in Part 1 & 2 you approach dent from center will the already stretched metal not stretch further and lead to Oil can effort. I am trying to under the technical thing about the approach. Kindly advise.
