The longest trailer-like video I have ever produced to date. Features an edited version of Peacekeeper I.
Original music: "Peacekeeper I" by Jose Pavli
• Peacekeeper I - Jose P...
This video took a really, really long time to make (please read until the end to fully understand), so a like, share, and subscribe would be massively appreciated!
Alright, moving on:
[1] As stated above, this is the longest trailer-like video I've ever made, which also means it was the most laborious to create. To my delight, PW has no cutscenes and no replay mode, so there weren't any shortcuts available. This sad reality forced me to be more "creative" (read: suffer). It also goes without saying that I had to record the game while actively playing it, which, unfortunately, meant more suffering (evading missiles, avoiding crashes, completing mission objectives, etc.). On top of that, PW is not the most optimized game in the world, thus I had to endure the occasional errors and frame drops. I have lost of track how many times I have had to restart my laptop due to these "fatal errors". Not that Premiere Pro was free of problems either, mind you. Even after this seemingly eternal suffering, it was still not guaranteed that the recorded clips could be used in the video. In my editing process, it is imperative that clips fit together to give a sense of fluidity and quality. However, some clips are just not meant to be played together. If you force them, the resulting video will feel awkward. The aforementioned frame drops may also render these clips unusable. That being said, these problems are only natural. Gathering three clips after playing the game for twenty minutes and then realizing those are unusable is sadly an unavoidable part of the editing process, so coping mechanisms are advised.
[2] Also as stated above, the BGM, Peacekeeper I, is edited. More specifically, it is slowed. Its pitch might be altered, too. I believe I used a website somewhere to edit it. Why did I slow it among other things, you ask? It's simply because I wanted to try something different. In addition, if it had not been slowed, all of the clips shown here would not have fit the duration of the original track.
[3] Talking about Peacekeeper I, there is no doubt that it is the best PW track. You are not allowed to disagree with this undeniable fact. Moreover, if I am not mistaken, Jose Pavli, the game's composer, stated that Peacekeeper I is his personal favorite. See, even the creator has spoken the truth himself!
[4] Premiere tells me that there are "294 items" in the project. These items, approximately 20 GB in size, are actually larger than the game itself (PW is about 13 GB).
[5] I used a multitude of aircraft to emphasize the game's characters based on the dialogue. For example, if something is said about Crimson or a pilot of said squadron talks, a Sk.37 or VX-23 will be shown with the marvelous Peacekeeper livery. This can also be said for Hitman Team. As PW doesn't feature any cutscenes, I tried my best to make my own version of Crimson's intro in Cold War (Mission 11). Personally, I like the result, considering I only had one shot per mission to record it since the flight formation quickly scatters as the fight ensues. I hope you like it too!
[6] Still about the characters, this video assumes that Monarch flies the F/S-15, the best nonexperimental aircraft, whereas Crimson 1 flies the VX-23.
[7] Moving on to the planes, due to my never-ending hatred of two-seater aircraft, not even a single two-seater makes an appearance in this video. Therefore, no Prez. That's why there are no Prez lines used here.
[8] The one responsible for launching the cordium-primed warheads in Consequence of Power (Mission 15), and therefore everything that entails this incident, is a "Peacekeeper commander." Do note that the person in question is not Crimson 1, as this commander has a different radio designation and voice. I think he referred to himself as "the commander of the peacekeepers in Cascadia." This is revealed in the same mission if you play it slowly enough. A lot of dialogues, such as this, will only come to light if you play the said mission slowly. These lines are played exactly before the cordium cruise missiles appear on the map. So, if you are too fast, you're gonna miss the whole show. I don't know why the game feels like trying to "hide" this part of the plot, but whatever. Of course, some of these obscure lines are used in the video, particularly towards the end.
[9] This is actually the second video on the channel that features PW's Conquest mode. The first one is "Kingmakers", a trailer released two years ago that was specifically made to showcase the game. Do you know which clip is in Conquest and which clip is in Campaign? Tip: Looks can be deceiving.
[10] After playing both the Campaign and Conquest, I have come to the realization that PW is indeed better than AC7.
Thank you!
