Peacemaker - Angry Review 

When peacemaker was jumping off the balconies but refused to leave his pillow case full of shitty albums…. I DIED.

Loved Vigilante. He wasn't the typical useless comic relief, but was actually very useful and skilled. It almost reminded me of Big Trouble in Little China with how Peacemaker was the comic relief.

Easily has the best soundtrack out of any movie or tv show I’ve seen. It’s really refreshing seeing lesser mainstream rock and metal get recognized

making awkward eye contact with James Gunn when I worked on set of this show last summer was one of the coolest things that ever happened in my life

The intro is f%%king amazing. The pure stone faces on all of the actors, the fact that Cena doesn't start dancing in the intro until after a "5,6,7,8" count, and how Eagly lands at the end, looks down, notices he's in the wrong spot, and moves over about 2 inches. It's gold honestly. Seriously though, this show was what HBOmax needed. Max didn't have any hardcore exclusive shows that were drawing me to the service and I'm definitely pleased with what I've seen so far. My only gripes are that some jokes run for way too long (especially the Louis CK joke in episode 2, that one felt like it went on for 5 minutes) and the blonde lady gets on my nerves with how she's in a constant bad mood. But besides those two things the shows a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me so far.

I like the no filter of a series on HBO max vs Disney plus. It’s a nice change!

Surprisingly good because I literally had no expectations. I thought they were just going to ignore what happened in the movie. Nah, they just added more details about Peacemaker's history and actually made a decent story out of a character I thought I didn't care about.

This show is great, all three episodes were really funny and entertaining for me. Usually I skip the into after the first viewing but the song and dancing is so good I watch it everytime. There's also after credit scenes.

Would never skip the intro! It's hilarious.. I'm surprised the three of em didn't like it with all the obvious cringe skits they do them selves.

Such a great show unbelievably happy James Gunn got to do more Dc stuff even though TSS didn’t do well box office wise.

John Cena was so perfect for this role in Suicide Squad. Who knew he'd be so good at playing an all-American hero who was actually an imperialist stooge and was willing to throw an island nation under the bus to serve his masters. It's almost like he had experience IRL.

Vigilante makes every scene so much more enjoyable to me. Easily my favorite character in the show and the one sidecharacter i thoroughly enjoy.

The intro is amazing haven't skipped it once but to each their own

I really liked Rick Flagg, and I think that if he had to die, there are few more awesome ways to do it than in an amazing brawl with Peacemaker and then saying the one line that would make Peacemaker re-evaluate his life. It's like Jason Bourne: that guy was a CIA hitman who made lots of kids into orphans but we end up rooting for him in the end because he changed his ways. I love that kind of story and I love that it's going to happen to Peacemaker (or not, James Gunn might want to try something out of left field) and most of all, I love that John Cena somehow manages to pull off a fair bit of acting and comedy.

The thing that was crazy to me about the show is that they confirmed batmite is canonical in that universe Also, the opening for the show is amazing

John Cena is like a live action figure and has a lot of comedy appeal. That's why this show (so far at least) actually works. And has some really hilarious scenes. Better than i expected.

Absolutely love the show and I’m excited for the next episodes, the only weird thing about it is that the jokes drag on sometimes or they ramble too much on a joke. Other than that EXCELLENT show.

James Gunn tweeted something about already knowing what he wants to do for a second season, just hasn't been greenlit yet. Hopefully it is!

You can tell the quality of a movie or show just by Alex's posture -- he definitely doesn't look like a hostage here! Also I really like the intro, I think I've watched it over a dozen times. Eagly is one of the best good boys out there!!!

I can see their point on the intro, but I'm also happy that im not alone in the comment section about loving it. its one of the few intros I never skip and love it

I was blown away with the sheer balls James Gunn has. I was “clutching pearls” while laughing at the cringe of it. Also, as a Cena fan, he is perfect for this roll. So crazy its great….so far. I agree it got a bit over the top at times. Reign it in just a bit and it is a perfect show (for mature adults only…I cant stress this show is pure R rating).

9:05 They’re self aware cause Peacemaker even calls it out by saying “Does anyone NOT have a weird last name?” or something like that.

I didn't know what to expect with this series and it won me over in episode 1! Can't wait to see where this goes, hopefully we'll get more Judomaster.

Cena really brings some unexpected emotion to the role of a superhero douchebag. You can see the horrible childhood, the insecurity, the ego, the loneliness in everything he does. I’m very pleasantly surprised.

When they showed Peace Makers car and I noticed the license plate said PSS MKR I laughed pretty hard.

I loved this show! Watched all 3 episodes in one night. Its mature, dark, funny. Has a deep cynical side like The Boys. Also is Vigilante supposed to be Kickass or what?

The show was Well written and John cena was great! The intro alone makes you realize this would be special.

The scene where Peacemaker was crying in his bed questioning everything he's done including killing Rick Flag was amazing. I laughed and felt so bad at the same time for him.

Its has problems but its enjoyable, entertaining and has loveable characters. A win for me.

This show had me laughing so much I kept rewinding scenes to laugh even more. Especially when Vigilante showed.

Honestly it's so good that people stopped seeing TV shows as like a step down from movies. Tv shows gives so much more to a character and building them. And it's awesome that huge movie stars are cool with doing them now

Shining example of what happens when Warner Bros./HBO Max hire creative teams capable of elevating DC's characters as opposed to butchering them. 9/10

I think the only way Warner/DC can compete with Disney/Marvel is just to go hard edge with good stories. Just go rated R with the violence and offensive humor where Marvel can't because some of the Disney stuff like Boba Fett is so weak sauce it's not working at all.

Sometimes the action isn’t as clean and easy to follow as I want. But otherwise, the first 5 minutes sold me. And that intro. OMg

Over the top is good, so much stuff is epic and it's great that Gunn is willing to do things, and go dark, and have characters and themes that Hollywood shy away from in 2022, even though it's real life. Although they definitely made every dude in the series a pos, an idiot, or just awful. Lmao that couple from ep 1 was hilarious, definitely didn't expect that to end that way. Vigilante was funny, and the action is sooo damn good. Even the porch to porch thing was hilarious and looked like it hurt soo much. Also that Helmet was insane.

The show intro is amazing. I never thought I'd ever see the T-1000 doing hip thrusts to a glam rock song.

The end of episode 4 was probably the most depressing thing I've ever seen in cinema. It fucked with me for like a week, but I can't stop watching it. It's just so well done. I love this show. It's like a character study drama disguised as a superhero comedy.

Show is genuinely funny and wild!! Really surprised me with how much I liked it from the very first episode

All three episodes where Amazing and incredibly funny this show is definitely setting itself up to be one of the best and funniest Superhero shows out there, And I can’t wait to see what the next five episodes have in stock, Also that opening slaps way harder than it should and I absolutely love it :)

I had very little expectation, just like I did with the suicide squad, but just like the movie,I actually was highly entertained. The intro really threw me off, and I was cracking up. I definitely feel that it can be over the top and a little too corky, but it's still entertaining. It's ironic that Peacemaker's dad(yes, I know he's T-1000) & Leota wife were both on the TWD.

The 400 gigs of alliance joke actually made me laugh out loud which is a really hard feat.

Vigilante gave me Deadpool vibes I loved "if I keep changing my face he won't be able to recognize me in the line up."

You know whats crazy is that the torture method would actually be really effective against the traditional heroes. For example, Superman would rather tell everything than let someone get hurt. Its just that in this case Peacemake doesn't give a fuck about Vigilante.................

Ended up watching the first 4 episodes yesterday and I can't wait for the next episode. So far the best DC series I have seen. And I do love that intro, a funny sidenote to the song in the intro: I watched an interview with the singer on Norwegian tv, before that song was picked to be the intro song they had such a big problem getting booked that the company doing their bookings had removed them from their list of bands, now suddenly everyone wants to book them.

After watching a good amount of all of Marvels Disney Plus series none of them were close to the level that Peacemaker was. A lot of the Marvel D+ shows are filler while Peacemaker gave us a surprisingly heartfelt series where by the end of season 1 you grew to love all these characters Peacemaker especially who seemed irredeemable after the Suicide Squad but James Gunn made us care.

I hope they DON'T "tone it down" - it's a perfect mix of humor, action, plot, characters, and some heartfelt moments sprinkled in.

I have made up a rule for myself. Never skip the intro of this show.

I’m sick of people of watching superheroes movies just to see if it’s going to fail like just enjoy it man either you like it or not don’t be coming in with those expectations I’m excited for anything superhero to come in and I have enjoyed everything so far from the past two years

This is the first HBO show I've watched (somehow), and it's such a refreshing change from all the various Disney+ series. I love how entertaining it is to watch a show go all in on what it wants to be. I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do on all the HBO shows I skipped out on after this

You guys missed the point. Peace Maker's dad laughed his ass off at the table because Peacemaker told him about Bloodsport. Who is "BLACK". His dad is super racist so he got a huge kick out of it. Then when he found out his son got shot by a "BLACK" guy he resorted back to his shameless-self. Again, you 3 totally missed the point why Peace Maker couldn't shoot the kids. He has no problem killing women and children as he stated in Suicide Squad. But here, what Rick Flag said to him with his dying breath really hit Peace Maker. He's questioning himself, struggling to become a better person. THAT'S why he couldn't take the shot. The Dove of Peace, though it probably is a big thing for him to have them engraved onto his weapons, he was using it as an excuse as to why he couldn't pull the trigger. He had a little back and forth about it with Hardcort. You guys... smh

Reminds me of Team America with quirky and irreverent humor! Cena is awesome as the dense yet awesome main character. Love Vigilante, which was a great comic in the 80's. Hopefully Hollywood learns from this....good writer and director = great content which I'll definitely be watching!! Go Eagly our winged protector!!

The opening was great the first time around, I think it would've been amazing if they changed the song/choreography for each episode!

The humor landed for me 95% of the time. The vigilante dude is hilarious ( so far )

Getting my biases out of the way first. I quite enjoy dorky camp and I'm quite easy to empathize with. I just am this way. Going into this show with zero expectations, I was surprised how much I laughed and even felt for Peacemaker at a few moments. I thought most of Peacemaker's actions/perceived incompetence made sense. It was obvious the events of Suicide Squad got to him and he's beginning to second guess his "peace at all costs" motto. Certainly had a few cringe moments, but overall I had a pretty great time so far. Interested to see where this goes. Soundtrack is legend-ary

Great series - sure it has the crazy over the top antics of something like the Christopher Meloni black comedy/action-drama 'Happy!' - but when it works - it really works ... and this Peacemaker series is GOLD!

HBO can track how many people hit the SKIP INTRO button and this is statistically the show with the least use of that button - even on subsequent episodes. Basically the most-watched intro on HBOMAX

Ehh I'll take this intro over most intros these days. It's so incredibly bizarre and unique that you cant help but laugh. Plus the music is great. You gotta appreciate it.

Peacemaker is batshit crazy in all the best ways possible! James Gunn has knocked it out of the park! All the humor & violence work so well together. I hope he does more DC projects! and something to point out is that peacemaker felt guilty for killing Rick Flag. Also after the events of the suicide squad, he only had one broken bone or one thing that needed fixed. I think that shows his resilience. Unlike most people that would probably have died or a lot more injuries.

Wow... I honestly thought other Joe would've been all over this show and Alex would hate it. I'm giving it a high 8 out of 10

What I will say is this, James Gunn can make true masterpieces when he's not doing SJW stuff. On story and execution, he puts his heart out and it shows.

It's definitely bold for DC to start with such an odd character that's being carried by the actor instead of brand recognition. I wonder if they'll continue to expand on shows with the current characters or set up new leading characters

I loved the intro and watched it again on episode 2, but skipped it on episode 3 and will continue to do so if they keep it for the next episodes.
