Fun fact from a Florida boy Cichla ocellaris (peacock bass) where introduced by FWC to fight our invasive tilapia and Oscar population in the metropolitan Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area. Based from experience fishing waterways cluttered with peacocks our native species aren't affected too much by the peacocks.

Long Island Fish Guy as a person who fishes for these fish in my back yard, they are pretty aggressive and for sure take care of more harmful invasive species than any LMB, also seen some people make money by taking tourist fishing for them, so it was actually pretty reasonable for the ecosystem and economy.

CubanGringoLife If you continue watching the video, I literally say that they were introduced to Florida on purpose in the 1980s. I know they were introduced for more than just one reason. Peacock Bass were introduced by both the state and by aquarium keepers. We know this because the state introduced Ocellaris, but there’s been many many many more species of PBs found in Florida. Neither of us are wrong here.
