Back in 1995 PJ and the entire music scene was so important to me. The music, the message, the look, the attitude it all meant so much to me. I was 24 and life felt like a Friday night, anything was possible, anything could happen, I had no idea what was to come. Now I'm 50 and it's like a Sunday morning and I have a hangover. It's been a crazy weekend, but I have off on Monday and I still have more to go. The music and the message is just as important as it was in 1995 for me.
Everything is similar with me, except that in 1995 I was 18 years old. That Sunday morning hangover, as you call it, caused me a depression that I barely got out of. After all, the most important thing is that I'm still alive.
Now were talkin. A band. A fuckin real hard rock band. No computers. No gimmick. No commercialism. Just a group of dudes who love music as much as you and I and can play their instruments like nobodies business. And then, theres Eddie. No words in any language can express this phenom.
Ed's voice was scorchin' during these days. I miss the mystery that accompanied the music back then. I was 16 years old. There was so much magic to it then. I wish that I could have captured it in a bottle in 95 so that I could truely taste it today. I miss it so.
Eddie is such a gorgeous talented man, when there's a close up of him singing and he's smiling ooohh my goodness, my heart!! Love Pearl Jam, my favorite band on this earth!! 😊💓🤘✌️
I have such a huge crush on Mike McCready. I grew up in the 90s and always loved his look and everything about him. Had I been a young woman in Seattle in the 90s...Mike would have been mine, methinks.
Same here, but being a heterosexual male, it's for different reasons. I just love his lead playing. He really captured the spirit of guys like Hendrix and SRV and unleashed it in the 90's.
Agreed. Jack Irons was easily the most creative Pearl Jam drummer of them all. But Matt Cameron learned like 80 songs in a very very short time when Irons bailed so they could tour. Also, he stuck around.
@@ryphraph604 Didn't mean to imply that Irons was a jerk. Now that I read my statement I see how it comes off that way. I think the world of Irons and have enjoyed his several solo records. Better he have his mental health than I get to hear him play drums in P.J.
I was not aware that there was live footage of Self Pollution Radio! I listened to the original broadcast over 28 years ago and now is find this? I still have the cassettes I made that night :)
This isn't from the broadcast. They used the Self Pollution name for several years before the broadcast happened and this is just an earlier recorded jam session. Whoever named the video probably mistakenly thought the footage was from the broadcast, because of the wrong date they put on it. And in fairness some of this footage was used to fill in gaps in footage of the actual broadcast day, so it's easy for someone who wasn't there to not know what they're watching. Easy way to remember: If Jeff has on a white shirt, it's earlier than the broadcast. If he has on a brown shirt, it's the broadcast. Also there were a lot more hung tapestries for the broadcast.
@@janX9 Well I was there both for this video and the radio broadcast, so it's actually just that I'm still able to remember some stuff from back then. surprisingly.
Still remember taping this off K107 in Tulsa Ok. I remember the day my car stereo ate it too :( Can’t believe some of you still have the tape!! I wonder where this house was?? Hopefully neighbors were fans...
Yea he's the man.....He Fucking quit on them 2 weeks before going out on a world tour. Matt Cameron came in and learned 80 songs in 2 weeks. FUCK Jack Irons!!!!!
Hairstyle the Mike McCready. I cut the same. :) ... I am the resurrection and the life I am the resurrection and the life I am the resurrection and the life
Jack such an amazing drummer, of course Dave Abruzzesse is the best ever, Matt Chamberlain also great, but the least groovy i feel is Matt Cameron, but not sying is bad or so is just the feeling changed
