Hi Xavier.. Not sure it has to do with the gel battery but more with the controller having a heat protection. 30 sec or less resets the system but I know that as 2-3 years passed that became more often.
@@martindelavega5792 I ll replace the controller with another bike esc then .... last original esc out of the 3 peg perego units we have....I suppose this will fix this issue.... no more kverheat protection though.... I guess the motors will burn at worse case.
Does the 20ah matter? I found a 12v 21ah that I’m thinking of buying, but not sure if it’ll make a difference in the wrong way, or if not could that spec be higher?
One more thing I have to ask durung I'm waiting for the new batteries. Did yiu also get this long beep tone and the the car woukd not go anymore? But when I disconnect tge batterie and connecr it back, then it is running again for maybe 1 or 2 min. I did this a xouple times and it helped to run another 5min. Is there an battery management who check the power of the battery and stop operating before it is really emtpy? Just wondering.. or could it be something else which is faulty?
Hi again, the beep has happened to me many times. Especially now in winter. If you overload the system and the voltage peaks down to low it will beep and stop.
You do not need to disconnect the batteries. Normally if you wait for a little while it will start working again by itself. If you have several pulsating beeping it will for sure after the beeps start working again without Disconnecting the battery.
@@martindelavega5792 ok.. I read also somewhere from another Peg Perego, that when it beeps 30sec in a row short beeping, it means overheating. But that was for sure not the case and also it did not like that. Had more of an 6sec beep which means battery.. well need to wait for the new one...
Hello.... I checked the reference and it looks like the 2 batteries you bought are 2x12 volts though you say in the video that you got 2 20volts batteries. Can you confirm I need to get 2 new 12 volts batteries which makes sense to me. I suppose these new batteries are of a higher quality.... and that it is the reason why it will work longer though it is still 2 x 12v. Correct?
@@martindelavega5792 thank you. My battery goes from 26v fully charged to 22v after a few minutes and hearing the beep sound. I just ordered a couple 12volts (24 serial) with 20ah (which I believe will make it last longer). Your video was useful. Question: are your new batteries still working? Read a few guys ordering on Amazon and it only lasted a year or so...
@@ebbrxavier glad to hear you got your batteries. Issue with all these batteries is the remembering to charge them before 2months.if you charge them. They last a couple years. The other problems with these cars is, the motors are way too weak. They burn easy.
Hi! The batteries that I was using were 20 amp batteries from a motorcycle application. You can buy At any Supplier giving that they are “standard size. Here you have the link to the batteries. The result is actually quite surprising. The ride on rides more than double the time. That’s probably because the original batteries might be specified higher than they actually are. www.biltema.se/bil-mc/mc/mc-reservdelar/mc-batterier/mc-batteri-gel-12v-20ah-2000029889
@@martindelavega5792 Hi Martin, we just got our second hand Peg perego RZR 24V 8AH car. Is really cool but the battery is not. Car is produced in 2015 so battery has same age. Yours had stock 12AH right? Wondering why mine is only 8ah ... Anyway, how long now your son can drive in the first gear? Because our daughter is just 3,5years so first I let her drive in first gear and lock it. btw,: I charged the battery till green, put it in and she could drive around 5min till the battery was dead :-(
Michael Pflüger those batteries are for sure dead. You should be able to run for 1,5 hours easily on 12 ah batteries on 1st gear. You need to change them. I went 20ah and have charged it once every 3 days of kids playing. It’s an easy upgrade.
@@martindelavega5792 Tuesday I received the 2x 12V 12A batteries and installed them. I let the kids right first for around 15min to check and all good. Then I charged them for 24h and drove Wednesday around 1h steep uphill and downhill and yesterday and today around 30min ... around the house steep uphill and downhill .. batteries still going strong!!!!! Just going uphill and driving in the high grass the car always overheats and start beeping for 30sec and then runs again .. thats a bit annoying. Also the very loud gearbox and the plastic wheels on the street give my neighbours a hard time .. but not sure if it is there a solution for that.
Michael Pflüger glad to hear that the battery issue is solved. Regarding the overheating... I have the same problem with new and old batteries. I will try finding out a solution. Regarding the wheels, I’d check the bicycle tire hack on RU-vid. The basically cut the tires of a kids bike and wrap them around the center of the wheels. Fastening with a few pop rivets.
