Day one post-op on shoulder surgery. This was super helpful! I saw another video of a PT demonstrating it by way of activating the shoulder to move it. Common sense told me that was incorrect and then I came across your video. Thanks so much!
Started these on my 2nd day following shoulder surgery tendonitis/impingement. I do them 3 times a day, breakfast/lunch/dinner for about a minute or so. I start physical therapy on day 7, so I hope this helps with my healing. I think it will. Thanks.
Thank you very much! I am currently doing some literature research on subacromial pain syndrome, and Codman's exercises are frequently included in rehabilitation programs, but with no explanation of the technique. No that's much clearer!
Thank you for this, im 3 weeks out and I have been doing them wrong, I have been actively doing circles with my arm..I wish the doctor would have given me clearer instructions on how to do this
Thanks for this great presentation that has really helped me understand how to do these exercises correctly. Experienced no pain this morning doing them the way you have demonstrated.
Doctor......I'm dealing with a partial frozen shoulder after a long layoff from physical activity post-ACDF surgery. It's getting much better, but my PT suggested Pendulum swings. Question.....do you suggest using a hand weight, or is added weight even necessary? Thanks.
I’m in week 4 of shoulder surgery I had a lot of cleanup done and repair on front side and back if the labrum along with the a bicep tendon repair with anchor. First day out of sling and I have a descent amount of discomfort
Wow!! You are right! As i was preparing for my NPTE licensure exam I came across clinical tips for pendulum exercises and it says what you did. GH muscle should be RELAXED, momentum should be coming from body swaying, NOT from the shoulder. Thanks
I want to do like you do, but I also fractured my Bennett's bone on my other hand. So both arms have been injured. Can you tell me how to do those exercises in my case?
I understand the theory of how to do it. Buy what if you ate a person who can't stop tensing your muscles. Like I try really hard but I am just super tense always. Physical therapy hasn't helped, so surgery is next. I am so stressed that I will ruin my shoulder
I had humerus (or something) bone surgery and was told to do pendulums starting from small and increased up to a basketball size, can I still do the way you showed or not, your response will be greatly appreciated.
I usually feel a little bit pain but when I stop it will gone. Should I still proceed if I feel pain even though I can endure the mild pain to pendulum stretch
I’ve watched several physical therapists on line and I’ve commented on their videos. I wanted to tell you also. I have seen 2 different surgeons. Both of them said I need surgery. Im having shoulder surgery June 13th of 2022, so less than a month away. Im having the Mumford procedure done along with a subacrimial decompression. My bicep area is very tight. My surgeon thinks I might have some kind of impingement. I hurt my shoulder back in 1999. It’s getting worse and worse. Im ready to have it done.
