Totally agree Helena, you should never hold back on being honest about something that you love and sharing your experiences. With what ever you do in life though, there will always be some people who love it and some people who don't. That's their choice. I do feel for people who don't see joy in others, only jealousy. But those people have a choice, carry on dragging that feeling around with them for the rest of their lives, or find a way of building up their self esteem and finding the joy in their own lives. A lot of these feelings start in childhood, but there is always a way to heal and change.x 😊
After lots of gardening on Sunday, I did my nightly routine backwards, with the added element of music. It turned around my mood from grumpy exhausted to feeling tired but happy at what I had achieved. The next day my neighbour said they could hear me singing and that made them smile 😃 but it was just me doing something that makes me happy, for no other reason than I needed a pick me up. Thank you for reminding me!
This video was an inspiration for me today. I was feeling the sting of a "correction" offered to me yesterday by somebody who I dearly love. For 24 hours I've been flogging myself for not being who they wanted me to be in the situation. As I was watching this, I felt the flutter of freedom.... I did what came naturally to me and it's okay to be me. We had fun. Nobody died. 😊
Worrying about a career that never even took off and having burned out in the past, made things so much worse to try to be authentic after a growing up that way.
I just posted some travel photos on my Facebook page and got a comment from one of my friends thanking me for posting the photos because it was her home country and she enjoyed seeing the photos so much. Made me smile. We can’t assume what other people are feeling.
Thank you for your sharing your beautiful soul! What I've noticed in my own life is that when I'm in a season of grief or healing, I do sometimes get triggered or sad by seeing other people who are experiencing joy. I think it's normal to feel that way when you are going through a rough patch or processing trauma or grief. Sometimes things happen to us in life that we can't control and it's just tough, but I've tried to remind myself that we all go through different experiences and seasons of life at different times and just because I'm in a season of grief, doesn't mean other people shouldn't experience and share their joy. I take breaks from witnessing other people's joy when I need to tend to my grief and then I come back to it when I'm ready to spark hope in myself. All of the parts of ourselves and our humanity deserve to be fully felt and shown. Thank you for sharing your joy!
Helen, I appreciate you for talking about the envy story. Someone once told me i was bragging about my life travels, & i was so shocked, because my intension were pure. I thought i was sharing a advenrure. I feel life is all about beauty & abundance

My spiritual teacher once said during Satsang, "I came to a point in my journey where I realized that I could not for one more second add to the negative energy on the planet." I think sometimes people are upset with other success because they think those people should be helping people that are starving etc. But if somebody feels that way then they should just help somebody suffering if they want. Like either enjoy life or help others that you think are suffering etc. Or do both
Your hat makes your words so authentic :) I think people who are afraid of others opinion, should find a piece of clothing they are in love with, but too weird for everyday life and start to wear it. Perfect way to learn the who cares attitude! :)

One of the most helpful videos I’ve ever watched!!! I have been watching self help type videos for years on RU-vid to help me heal my depression and anxiety but finally, I came across this video and wow, I feel like I’ve been set free from the jail of caring what people think etc. I sometimes struggle to leave the house because I get scared that someone will think bad things about me. But now, I feel so empowered since watching this video and I am NOT going to care anymore what they think. They probably aren’t even thinking anything anyway and that’s none of my business too. Those who are be triggered by someone enjoying their life should learn to be happy for others. I am grateful for those that share their experiences, who live life in a way that brings them happiness, and I love seeing people succeed.
True story: Back when I was in 4th grade, I regularly volunteered for "show-and-tell," because I had lived overseas twice already and had travelled a lot, so I had lots of interesting objects to show and plenty of exciting stories to tell. Then one day, I heard one of the kids say in an unpleasant voice, "Oh, he's always showing something." While I completed my show-and-tell bit, I was instantly embarrassed and never showed or told anything ever again, which has pretty much remained my attitude till this day. I decided it was stupid of me to show off about my experiences when scarcely anyone else had the same opportunities. This was a formative experience for me and it explains a lot about how I've dealt with other people since. As much as I adore Helena's videos, you'll never see me making one, and this is presumably the reason why.

I do this every week and am still working on childhood stuff that happened to me in elementary school. Been healing it for a year and I still have to work on it when those same themes of that trigger flares up. It's life long healing ❤️
I love this video! This totally bothered me too... but as adults, we don't have to justify anything, this is just a teenage trait we have to get rid of. And another thing, when dogs are rescued for example, owners say: "I want her/him to have the best life and be happy". I learned that I can wish that for myself, and for other humans too. Heck, isn't this what justice and peace are about?

Why would anyone be offended because of someone's happiness. I like to travel and post pictures of interesting places, and I see no reason why anyone would say anything bad about it.
Envy is an ugly side of myself that I battle. I know not to go on social media when I’m not my better self that can be inspired by others good fortune and initiative.
Thank you for another wonderful and thought provoking video. I really needed to be reminded of this today. My life is going through some changes, mostly positive ones. And the rest I choose to see as new opportunities to be my true self. Scary stuff, allowing others to see my vulnerabilities, but also exciting!
Honestly it never occurred to me to worry what people think of me. I do however understand how me sharing photos of my wealthy life and adventures only money can buy would make others less lucky in life feel sad and jealous. I don’t think it’s good to ignore that. Arrogance in the face of poverty is a pretty ugly look.

You are absolutely correct. There is no need to pander to bullies and narcissists. No need for “trigger warnings“. People need to stop this nonsense and grow up.
Watching this video again and I had another thought: people love to see the famous and rich, but when someone who isn't famous is enjoying their life and travelling, they might get "triggered"? It's definitely something to work on and your channel for sure is helping me avoid this WRONG way of thinking.
